FOREWORD

The New Creation

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV)

n Psalm 34:1, David declares, “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” This should be our song too, for the unrelenting, enormous, and numerous blessings and benefits this awesome God continues to shower on us in this year 2020, even until now. The world has witnessed challenging changes that would remain in the sand of time yet our God remains faithful. Glory be to His name in the highest.

The divinely given theme for this edition of 40 days’ spiritual exercise is: ‘THE NEW CREATION’, culled from 2 Corinthians 5:17 as above. New creations in Christ are not new temporarily but new every day, in all seasons. Hallelujah! We are new creations even in a new order, a ‘new normal’ in our present world where things are becoming unusual, where things continue to change. In the face of this, we remain new creations in the unchanging God in an ever-changing world. He is ‘the same yesterday, today and forever’ (Hebrews 13:8).

The theme for this edition of the 40 days’ prayer and fasting, apart from reminding us about who we are in Christ, is also to challenge us to continue to live up to the expectations of new creations. The topics under this theme are tailored to help us achieve this, and God will make it achievable in the name of Jesus. The world may be changing and drifting away from God, we are not to be drawn away with them, realising what the scripture says “And the world is passing away and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” (1 John 2:17). May we receive enabling grace in this regard in the name of Jesus.

Another thing the ‘New Creation’ title requires of us is to ‘put off’ the old habits, old ways of life that negate being a new creation in Christ and instead ‘put on’ new lifestyles, powered by a renewed mind set. Like Paul exhorts in Romans 12:2, “…but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” By this, we will be able to comply with the injunction in Ephesians 4:22ff, “…put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts… and put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”

The above requirements may be considered a ‘tall order’, but it is nevertheless achievable. This is part of what this prayer and fasting exercise is designed to do. Coupled with this is the truth of the Scripture that says, “With God all things are possible.” (Luke 1:37). Jesus who called us into new creation, is abundantly able to supply the sustaining strength and the enabling grace in this regard. As we embark of this journey, we pray the words of our months and the meditations of our hearts shall be acceptable to God and be rewardable to us in the name of Jesus. Amen. God bless you.

Praise God the Creator of All Things â&#x20AC;&#x153;In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.â&#x20AC;? John 12:1-4

Sing: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory, honour and power, for Thou has created all things, and for Thy pleasure, they are and were created (Revelation 4:11). Now begin to worship God, the Creator of all things. We worship You our God, the Giver of life and strength. In You we live, we move and have our being (Acts 17:28). We praise You our God. You have brought us out of the darkness of this wicked world into Your marvellous light (I Peter 2:9). We praise You Lord, the King of kings and Lord of lords. You remember Your covenants of Grace, Mercy, Favour and Peace always and have kept them with us in Jesus’ name (Isaiah 54:10; 2 Chronicles 6:14). We praise You Lord, we are fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are Your works towards us. Glory be to Your name forever in Jesus’ name (Psalm 139:14). We thank You our Father. As we call on You in prayer and fasting, we receive total victory over the works of the enemy, and obtain mercy and favour for answered prayers in Jesus’ name (Jeremiah 29:11-14). We praise You Lord, for showing us clearly our position in Christ Jesus. We sit and reign with Christ in the heavenly places far above all principalities and powers in Jesus’ name (Ephesians 2:4-7). God the Creator of all things, we praise You. The Deliverer, who delivers from all troubles and calamities, we bless Your great and glorious name (2 Corinthians 1:8-10). God the Creator of all things, we thank You. The Mighty Warrior who has never lost a battle, You are the Wonderful present help in times of need. Praise God Who Satisfies His Creatures

“The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.” Psalm 145:15-16 1.

Father, we declare You as the Source of all lives and therefore praise Your name as our ultimate Supplier. Creator of all flesh, we praise You for blessing us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ in Jesus’ name (Ephesians 1:3). Lord, thank You for Your divine power that has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness through our knowledge of You in Jesus’ name (2 Peter 1:5). Lord, we thank You for supplying all our physical needs for each day according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Father of mercies, we are the city of Your revelation and we exalt You because You have promised that Your city will again spread through prosperity (Zechariah 1:17). Holy Spirit, thank You for the supply of the spiritual nutrition that we need to keep us going in Christ in Jesus’ name (John 6:35). We thank You for feeding us with angel’s food for the different seasons of our lives in Jesus’ name (Psalm 78:25).

Our eternal Provider, we thank You for satisfying every desire of Your saints, worldwide in goodness, in Jesus’ name (Psalm 107:9). Lord, we thank You for Your grace of becoming poor for us to enjoy Your riches on earth in Jesus’ name (2 Corinthians 8:9). Father, You have made all grace abound toward us to have sufficiency in all things and abundance for every good work. Be glorified forever in Jesus’ name (2 Corinthians 9:8). Lord, we shall continually praise You as You continue to supply us blessings that are exceedingly, abundantly above our expectations in Jesus’ name (Ephesians 3:20). In the midst our praise tonight, we receive showers of blessings to the glory of Your name (Ezekiel 34:26). Father of mercies, we thank You for renewing our youth as the eagle by the amount of daily loads we receive in Jesus’ name (Psalm 103:5). Lord, we have not always been appreciative of Your blessings, forgive us for our complaining, moaning and murmuring in Jesus’ name (1 Corinthians 10:10). Lord, as we praise You tonight, please meet the desires of all nations at these challenging times in Jesus’ name.

DAY 3 Wednesday, 28/10/20

Created For God’s Glory “Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.” Isaiah 43:7 1.

Lord, I thank You that by Your grace You have called us and made us worthy of being used for Your glory in Jesus’ name. O Lord my God, I come before the throne of mercy today, let every iniquity and trespass that has covered Your glory in my life be removed today by the blood of Jesus in Jesus’ name. Lord Jesus, let us enjoy divine Your divine restoration during and after these prayers in Jesus’ name. Father, as You have effectually called us, we receive insight into Your eternal glorification in Jesus’ name (Romans 8:30). By the power of the blood of Jesus, we strip every garment of suffering, rejection, and anxiety today and we lay hold unto God’s revealing glory in Jesus’ name (2 Corinthians 4:17-18). Father, let Your glory cover Your church now in the middle of this pandemic in Jesus’ name. Father, in Your mercy restore back those sons and daughters who have walked away from Your glory because of worldly pressure in Jesus’ name. Lord Jesus, wherever we go from now on, let our lives always carry the evidence of Your glory in Jesus’ name. Father of glory, we are called by Your name, help us to commit to the

calling You have called us so Your glory will manifest in everything we do in Jesus’ name. Holy Spirit, as we head towards the new year, help to do what we are meant to do, and be who we are created to be so Your glory will shine upon our lives till eternity in Jesus’ name. Father, let every eye that will see us after these prayers see Your glory upon our lives and let the evidence of Your glory bring Your fear upon them in Jesus’ name (Isaiah 29:23). O Lord, whenever I call upon Your name, answer me that Your glory will never suffer any reproach in my life in Jesus’ name. Father, let me and my family and Your church experience a turnaround in every area of our lives and let it bring down Your glory so people will know I am serving a glorious God in Jesus’ name. Lord Jesus, as we journey in Your mercy into the new year, let Your glory cover us as You covered the Israelites in their journey in the wilderness in Jesus’ name. O Lord I thank You for answered prayers and the testimony that will follows in Jesus’ name.

DAY 4 Thursday, 29/10/20

Created For Fellowship “And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” Genesis 3:8-9 1.

Heavenly Father, thank You for creating man in Your own image to have relationship and fellowship with You (Genesis 1:26). Heavenly Father, thank You for always seeking for those who worship You in spirit and in truth (John 4:23). Heavenly Father, thank You for creating man for Your own glory in Jesus’ name (Isaiah 43:7). Heavenly Father, thank You for always being mindful of man to the extent that You only love to fellowship with man out of all Your creations (Psalm 8:4). Loving Father, please forgive us for breaking our fellowship with You sometimes by walking in disobedience to Your word and grieving Your Spirit in Jesus’ name (Genesis 3:6-7, Ephesians 4:30). Loving Father, thank You for making a way to restore back man’s fellowship with You immediately man sinned against You (Genesis 3:15, 21). Loving Father, thank You for giving me Your Spirit so that I can continue to have unbroken relationship and fellowship with You in Jesus’ name (Galatians 4:6-7).

Loving Father, help me not to be too busy to spend quality time in Your presence to fellowship with You in Jesusâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; name. Loving Father, by the help of Your Spirit in me, please give me hunger and thirst for Your presence in the name of Jesus (Psalm 63:1). I destroy every satanic distraction, busyness and cares of this world that prevent me from fellowshipping with You on regular basis in the name of Jesus. I destroy every guilt, fear, condemnation and shame that is preventing me from having regular fellowship with You in the name of Jesus (Genesis 3:8). I destroy by the power of the Holy Spirit in me, every work of flesh that keeps me away from regular fellowship with You in the name of Jesus (Romans 8:13). Henceforth, by the help of the Holy Spirit in me, I choose to draw near to my heavenly Father in regular fellowship in the name of Jesus (James 4:8). Henceforth, by the help of the Holy Spirit in me, I shall give my heavenly Father the first priority in my life in the name of Jesus (Matthew 6:33). Prayer answering Father, thank You for answering my prayers and for restoring my fellowship with You in the name of Jesus (1 John 5:14).

Created For Dominion “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:26-28 1. 2.

Father, we thank You for the fifth day of this year’s prayer and fasting spiritual exercise; we thank You for the blessings of the previous days and the blessings we will receive today in the name of Jesus. Father, we thank You for fearfully and wonderfully making us in Your image and likeness for Your glory in the name of Jesus (Psalm 139:14). Lord, forgive all our sins that may stand as hindrance to our prayers today in the name of Jesus (Isaiah 59:1-2). Wherever and whenever we have fallen short of Your standard and expectation of creating us in Your image and likeness, merciful Lord, pardon and forgive us in the name of Jesus (Romans 3:23). Holy Spirit divine, have Your way in our midst today; pray with us, pray in us, pray through us, and pray for us in the name of Jesus (Romans 8:26).

Father, help us henceforth to get serious with our dominion mandate that we have been reckless and careless with, in the name of Jesus (2 Corinthians 2:11). From now henceforth, we take dominion afresh over whatever (sin, Satan, flesh etc) that might have been ruling over us in the name of Jesus (Rom. 6:14; Gal. 5:16-17). By the power in the name of Jesus, we subdue forces of evil, principalities and power contending against our overall well-being; we render them powerless in the name of Jesus (Ephesians 1:21). Lord, more than before, help us to make good use of the things You have created for our pleasure; help us not to abuse them in the name Jesus (Genesis 1:28-30). We declare powerless with immediate effect those who by diabolic power are using the things You have created to perpetrate evil against us, in the name of Jesus (Isaiah 54:17). We are the children of the Kingdom, so we take our rightful place on earth, we begin to walk in power, authority, and control in the name of Jesus (Mark 16:17-18; Jeremiah 1:10). All our rights and privileges as a chosen generation, a peculiar people and a holy priesthood that we have forfeited somehow, we claim them back now in the name of Jesus (1 Peter 2:9). Our Father in heaven, we are Your children and joint heirs with our Lord, Jesus Christ; we will remain Your children forever and not as bastards in the name of Jesus (Romans 8:16-17). At the end of our temporary sojourn on earth, Lord Jesus grant us the grace to reign eternally with You in Your name we pray (John 14:3). Father, we thank You again for this fifth day of prayer; let Your grace grant favourable and speedy answers to our prayers in the name of Jesus (Jeremiah 33:3).

Power and Authority Conferred “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19 1. 2.

O Lord, I thank You for the exceeding greatness of Your resurrection power made available in Christ Jesus in Jesus’ name (Ephesians 1:1821) O Lord, thank You that You share with us Your authority, power and strength in the name of Jesus (Luke 10:19; John 1:12). O Lord, forgive and have mercy on me in every way I have failed to assert my authority in Christ Jesus in Jesus’ name. O God, forgive me for any sin that opened the door of my life to the devil. I use the blood of Jesus to purge my foundation and my life, in the name of Jesus. O Lord, I receive the boldness and faith to walk in the authority and the power that You have given me in Jesus’ name. Every generational serpent that has taken dominion over my life, be electrocuted and die, in the name of Jesus. Every poison of the enemy in my life, be neutralised by the blood of Jesus (Mark.16:15-20). O Lord, strengthen me mightily in my inner man in Jesus’ name (Ephesians 3:16).

Father Lord, inject into me Your spiritual vitamins from Your word and the blood of Jesus that will make me spiritually healthy and boost my spiritual appetite for the word, prayer and intimacy with the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus (Psalm 84:2; 119:131). O Lord, grant me grace to be rooted deeply and founded securely in the immeasurable love of God in Jesus’ name (Ephesians.3:17-18). O Lord empower me to be filled through all my being with the fullness of God in Jesus’ name (Ephesians 3:19). O Lord, give me the grace that I may abound and be filled with the fruit of righteousness in Jesus’ name (Philippians 1:10-11). Lord, I start to walk in the power, I start to use the authority given from today in Jesus’ name. Ever faithful God, keep us from all forms of evil and sanctify us by Your truth in Jesus’ name (John 17:15-17; 2 Thessalonians 3:3). O Lord, I thank You for answered prayer in the name of Jesus.

DAY 7 Sunday, 01/11/20

The Fall “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.” Genesis 3:6

“And the devil said to him, all this authority I will give you, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.” Luke 4:6 1. 2. 3. 4.

Lord, we thank You that You will perfect everything that concerns us and bring back everything we have lost in the garden of Eden through our sins in Jesus’ name (Psalm 138:8). Lord, we thank You for laying our iniquity upon Yourself, when we have gone astray and turned to our own ways like sheep without a shepherd in Jesus’ name (Isaiah 53:6). Lord, I thank You for in Adam, I was dead but in Christ Jesus, I am made alive through his death on the cross of Calvary in Jesus’ name (1 Corinthians 15:22). Lord, have mercy upon me, my household and Your church in whatever ways we have yielded to the deceit of the devil, and fall short of Your glory. Pardon and forgive us in Jesus’ name (Psalm 51:1, Romans 3:23).

O Lord, empower me, my household and the church of God to come out of the snare of the devil holding us in captivity in Jesus’ name (2 Timothy 2:26). Lord, break every evil foundation of sin in our lives, uproot and destroy them by the fire of the Holy Ghost and blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name (Roman 6:14). Lord, reverse every curse pronounced upon me through my sins to divine blessings in Jesus’ name (Galatians 3:13). O Lord, I surrender my totality unto You. Take control of my life, remove every authority of the devil and its glorification over me due to sin with Your blood in Jesus’ name (Luke 4:6). O Lord, as You have set us free, empower us to stand firm in the freedom You have given us. Grant us the grace not to submit again to the yoke of slavery in Jesus’ name (Galatians 5:1) O Lord, deliver Your church from the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Always give us the Spirit of obedience to Your word in Jesus’ name (1 John 2:16-17). Lord, empower me anew and afresh to put on the whole armour of God to be able to stand against the devices of the devil. (Mention the armour of God in your prayer, Ephesians 6:13-18). I decree and declare Lord, that Your birth, Your death and Your resurrection shall not be in vain in my life, in my household and the church of God in Jesus’ name. We shall not lose our souls for the things of this world in Jesus’ name (Mark 8:36) O Lord, grant us victory over every temptation and satanic devices. Lord, empower us to be hungry and thirsty for righteousness all the days of our lives. Give us the power to stand firm against all the schemes and techniques of the devil in Jesus’ name (2 Corinthians 2:11). Lord, open our eyes of understanding to see and receive the gift of eternal life brought to us through Jesus Christ after the fall of man in the garden of Eden, in Jesus’ name (John 3:16). Faithful Father, we thank You for Your appearance as second Adam to give us eternal life after the fall of the first Adam, and for answered prayers in Jesus’ name (1 Corinthians 15:21).

Born of the Spirit

Father, thank You for making me Your son/daughter in Jesus’ name (Romans 8:16). Thank You, Lord for making me a heir and a joint heir with the Lord Jesus. It is a privilege that I appreciate in Jesus’ name (Romans 8:17). Thank You for setting me free from every bondage of fear and slavery in Jesus’ name (Romans 8:15). Forgive me Lord in all areas that I have not really behaved like Your true son/daughter in Jesus’ name (John 1:9). Lord, cleanse us of all our sins with the precious blood that You shed on the cross of Calvary in Jesus’ name. Father, in Your mercy, anoint us afresh and anew with Holy Spirit that will help us to run away from sin in Jesus’ name (1 John 2:27). Lord, I drop now, every evil company that can corrupt my journey to eternity in Jesus’ name (1 Corinthians 15:33). Lord, I thank You for Your faithfulness because there is no temptation or challenge that can overtake me. Thank You for making a way of escape through Jesus Christ in Jesus’ name (1 Corinthians 10:13). Thank You Lord for being my refuge and strength in time of trouble and challenges in Jesus’ name (Psalm 46:1). Lord, forgive me in every area that I have not endured challenges enough in Jesus’ name. Lord Jesus, whenever I face trials and challenges, help me to consider it all joy in Jesus’ name (James 1:2-3). Lord Jesus, build my faith so strong that I can stand up to any challenge in my life with great confidence in Jesus’ name. Lord, help me to turn my attention to You totally rather than unto my challenges in Jesus’ name. Lord, empower me to endure any challenge and show me the way of escape in Jesus’ name. Lord, I thank You for counting me among those that were called as Your soldier to fight the good fight of faith (1Timothy 6:12) O Lord, I confess all my sins that can hinder me from victory in the fight of faith and ask for forgiveness in Jesus’ name (Psalm 51:1-4). O Lord, empower me and equip me with strength and energy to enable me to continuously fight the good fight of faith in Jesus’ name. Lord, give me the grace and strength to stay in this match and finish it to completion in Jesus’ name. Lord, continue to boost my spirit of determination and commitment to keep up the good fight of faith until I can say the fight is finished and victory is accomplished in Jesus’ name. O Lord, I pray for everyone that is struggling with their faith and I pray that such person will overcome the struggle in Jesus’ name. O Lord, have mercy on me, so that I will not lose the battle while fighting the good fight of faith in Jesus’ name. Lord, I rebuke any form of distraction that could allow me to lose my focus as I am fighting this good fight of faith in Jesus’ name. O Lord, I acknowledge that we are not fighting against flesh and blood, I therefore bind every spiritual power that could be interfering with my faith and I put them into bondage in Jesus’ name (Ephesians 6:12).

Lord I thank You for the grace You will give me to finish well in my Christian journey, in Jesus’ name. Thank You my Lord for creating me as Your handwork in Christ Jesus as to do good works in Jesus’ name (Ephesians 2:10). Father, I thank You for giving me the grace to resist temptation in my Christian journey (1 Corinthians 10:13). Father, any sin or unrighteousness that is in me that will not allow me to finish my Christian journey well, take it away in Jesus’ name (Ephesians 4:31). The power and grace to keep the faith in 2021 fall on me now, in Jesus’ name (2 Timothy 4:7). Lord, help me to walk in the Spirit in 2021 so I can finish well in Jesus’ name (Romans 8:12-13). I command every spirit of procrastination that will not allow me to end well in 2021, die by fire in Jesus’ name. Lord, let every project I have started in 2020 end well in Jesus’ name.

I decree and declare that the good spiritual work God has done in the lives of all our children and youths shall end well in Jesus’ name (Philippians 1:6). 11. Father, in the name of Jesus, give all the ministers in our District the grace to discipline their bodies so they can finish the Christian race well in Jesus’ name (1 Corinthians 9:27). 12. I decree and declare that every good project, plan and agenda for our District will end well in 2021 in Jesus’ name. 13. Father, let all our pregnant women in our assembly end their pregnancy journey with joy and happiness in 2021 in Jesus’ name. 14. Lord, let everyone partaking in this prayer make the rapture in Jesus’ name (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17). 15. T hank You Lord for giving me the grace to partake in these prayers in Jesus’ name.

We praise You Lord, for being the God who hears, sees, and knows us. We thank You for Your mercy, enduring love, and for Your glorious promises in Jesus’ name (Isaiah 1:18). Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we thank You for all Your goodness and loving-kindness. We bless You for our creation, preservation and sustenance in the mighty name of Jesus. O Lord, give us reason to celebrate by rescuing us from endless fatigue and aimless pursuit. Take the loads we carry and replace them with Your peace in Jesus’ name (Psalm 34:14). Lord, I thank You for the blessedness of answered prayer for You have turned my mourning into dancing. You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness in Jesus’ name (Psalm 30:11). O Lord, fulfil Your good plans and purposes for my life in Jesus’ name (Jeremiah 29:11). Father, open my eyes to see, my ears to hear and my intellect to

understand the awesomeness of Your glory to celebrate Your love amongst heathens in Jesus’ name (Leviticus 26:44). Grant us a refreshed spirit and a renewed mind to see You as the source of our joy and our present help in times of trouble in Jesus name (Psalm 46:1). Almighty and ever-loving God, prepare our hearts for the gifts You seek to offer us. Strengthen and inspire our faith for people to see in us the glimpses of the church You call us to be in Jesus’ name (Revelation 21:1). Father, I pray for the fortitude to come out of the great ordeal of this world and the ability to wash my filthy robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb in Jesus’ name (Revelation 7:14). O Lord, lift me up and grant me total victory over the enemies of my progress in the name of Jesus (Psalm 30:1). Father God, open heaven of fire against every demonic power working against Your good plan for my life, family and ministry in Jesus’ name. I command in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit that every storm attacking the body of Christ causing disunity to be still in the name of Jesus. Please teach me to surrender my talent, time and treasure for the expansion of Your church on earth for the proclamation of Your name and demise of the kingdom of the devil in Jesus’ name (Psalm 30:9). Father Lord, grant us the empowerment to focus on You to the end, not to miss Your set mark and to have an eternal celebration with You in Your Kingdom in the name of Jesus. Father Lord, we thank You for answering our prayers from day one and to this final day in Jesus’ name.
