CRYSTAL AND ARCHITECTURE – NEWLY DEFINED Crystal has always fascinated mankind – through its interplay with light, but also through its multifaceted language of form. Myths and tales are entwined around crystal throughout many very different cultures. Crystal emanates a very particular power that stimulates architects, designers, artists and scientists again and again to define the language of form of crystal in new and interesting ways. To give interior designers and architects the possibility to integrate cut crystal and its special effects more strongly into architectural projects, Swarovski has developed various Architectural Elements sharing a common characteristic: They can be employed in a variety of ways and are designed and fabricated individually for the respective project. The Swarovski planning team will act in an advisory capacity, if desired, both for the development of the respective design, and for working out the individual installation solution. So just allow yourself to be inspired …

HONEYCOMB A cut crystal, when light falls on it, gleams radiantly in the cell structure on a wall or ceiling. Architecture, light and crystal appear to unite in a fully new way. The extraordinary combination of materials blends completely into the architecture and attracts the glances of the viewers.

HONEYCOMB

SOMETHING SPECIAL Honeycomb is a synergy of modern materials and minimalistic forms with cut crystal. The Architectural Element can be configured in an extremely variable number of ways with regard to both size and construction, and is designed and produced individually for the respective project. This makes it possible for interior designers and architects to conceptualise and realise extraordinary projects with light and crystal.

TECHNOLOGY Honeycomb is based on the characteristic structure of equally large cells. Any number of these cells are filled with a single crystal pearl, so that effects are generated that can be configured individually. Through illumination from behind by means of fibre optics or LEDs, the effects and the brilliance of the crystal are shown even more impressively. Crystal beads are available in various colours and effects. As well, the modular construction allows the Honeycomb structure to be utilised in large areas.

APPLICATION Honeycomb can be applied in a variety of ways and is excellently suited for large-scale integration in walls or ceilings. With its modern, minimalistic language of form, Honeycomb is ideal for creative accentuation of interior rooms, such as hotel lobbies, bars or restaurants.

YOUR ADVANTAGES - Innumerable combinations for diverse design possibilities - Individual fabrication according to customer preference - Modular construction for large-scale applications - Compatible with a number of standard mounting systems - Freely definable proportion of crystal for a high degree of configuration flexibility

TOPOLOGY Linear or playful, but always precise forms with glittering crystal merge with the architecture. With their exceptional play of light, crystal and wood, Corian速 or Parapan速, wall panelling attracts attention magically and gives the room a totally individual character.

TOPOLOGY

18

TOPOLOGY

SOMETHING SPECIAL Topology enables interior designers and architects to ennoble existing elements in interior rooms with crystal and thus to achieve extraordinary architectural effects. Topology allows the creation of very different motifs designed individually for the respective project – the clear transition of carrier material and crystal guarantees that small forms can also be implemented precisely. The variety of the crystals that can be utilised, as well as the possible carrier materials – where particularly the extremely different types of wood, Corian® and Parapan® are excellently suited – permit a configuration that blends perfectly with the architecture.

TECHNOLOGY With Topology the individual motif is integrated in an existing carrier panel that is part of the architecture. The motif is machined out of the carrier panel, sealed with a super-transparent casting resin and filled with cut crystal. A transparent covering layer on the rear side retains the motif. The carrier panel can be provided by the customer or Swarovski. Solid wood, veneers, Corian® or Parapan® are particularly suited for this. If applicable, other materials are possible as well.

APPLICATION Topology blends completely into the existing architecture. It can be integrated in existing walls and is ideal for the application of very different motifs in an interior room, from fine, organic forms to clear, linear patterns. Topology is also suitable for small, decorative elements as well as for large-scale applications – particularly for representative areas with a modern ambiance.

YOUR ADVANTAGES - Diverse configuration possibilities - Complete integration in the existing architecture - Individual fabrication according to customer preference - Versatile and flexible design of motifs

MAREK GUT - agency for industrial design

UNVEIL Two motifs playing with each other and with the architecture, complex and creative. The light draws new effects constantly out of the crystal – and at the same time changes the impression that the room has on the visitor: an extraordinary experience. Tantalizing and individual.

UNVEIL

27

28

UNVEIL

SOMETHING SPECIAL Unveil is characterised by a dramatic interplay of foiland crystal patterns, of glass- and mirror surfaces. The selection of a crystal application and the arrangement is individual and opens up numerous creative possibilities. Optional LED lighting heightens the effect of Unveil due to the interaction of light, architecture and crystal.

TECHNOLOGY With Unveil a foil with an individual motif is applied directly to the front- or rear side of the transparent glass. Crystals – available in various forms, colours and sizes – are applied manually to the glass- or mirror plate, with the result that the configuration of individual motifs has no boundaries. The LED-BAR, clipped onto the spacer, increases the brilliance of the crystal and therefore also the effect of the Architectural Element. The LED light is fed in laterally and is characterised by a constant light colour. LEDs have a long service life that is attained by no other type of lamp.

APPLICATION Unveil can be utilised in a number of ways and integrated perfectly in both walls and ceilings. Unveil is available with lighting; this emphasizes the dramatic interplay of light, architecture and crystal, and is optimally suited for the design of modern, representative interior rooms.

YOUR ADVANTAGES - Versatile possibilities of application and design - Realisation of exact, complex motifs, lettering, logos, etc. - Individual fabrication according to customer preference - Available with LED-BAR that can be clipped onto the spacer
