Happy Halloween!
All over the world, people celebrate Halloween in many different ways. In a small town in the North of England, it is one of the most important events of the year.
With a population of around 12000, Hexham is a small, ancient town in Northumberland, in the north of England. It has a very special festival just before Halloween called “Spook Night”. It has a full programme of activities for all ages, starting at 11a.m. and finishing late at night. You can start the day by going to the market square and tasting some delicious Halloween sweets, like toffee apples and candy floss, the go to Hexham’s cinema to watch a spooky movie, like
competition and win a prize for your crazy costume!
Later in the evening, when it’s dark, you can visit the ruins of
Hexham Abbey – but watch out for ghosts!
