Oh! There’s Rumbledumble. Hurry!
Rumbledumble is very big and a bit scary. The people in the village don’t like Rumbledumble. When he goes to the village the people run into their houses and close the windows and doors.
But Anna and the other children like Rumbledumble. They aren’t scared! In fact, they often go to play at his big house on the hill. They help in the garden and play games and watch TV. The children are happy and Rumbledumble is happy too!
One day it’s raining. The children are sitting in the living room with Rumbledumble and Maxi. They’re watching TV.
It’s raining a lot! Oh dear! The rain is coming in through the window! And it’s very windy.
Oh dear! The wind is coming down the chimney!
The children are very surprised and a bit scared.
And now the rain is coming in through the roof! It’s going into the bedroom and the bathroom at the top of the house. The children are busy catching the rain in the buckets.
Oh no! Look at the sofa and the armchair. And the cupboard. And the TV!
And now the rain is coming in under the door!
The water goes into the rooms on the ground floor: the kitchen, the dining room and the living room. Rumbledumble and the children are upstairs.
Rumbledumble, Maxi and the children are on the first floor. They are in Rumbledumble’s library. Here there’s a fire and it’s warm and safe. Rumbledumble and the children look out of the window. They are worried! Where is the village?
Oh! There’s Rumbledumble’s boat. It’s the boat he takes to the beach! And the beach umbrella is in the boat! Rumbldumble is giving Maxi to Anna.
Hold Maxi for me, please!
Rumbledumble jumps out of the window and swims to his boat.
Be careful Rumbledumble!
Rumbledumble gets into his boat and rows to the house. Two older children, Bill and Grace, climb into the boat. Maxi is coming too! Rumbledumble is talking to Anna.
Anna, get blankets, towels and clothes… and make hot chocolate, please.
