The project consists in the redevelopment of some forgotten archaeological areas in Siracusa (Sicily), in particular the castle and the walls that have surrounded the city for more than two thousand years. A first part of the project foresees a cycle path that connects all the areas of historical and landscape importance. The second part proposes a pedestrian path that traces the ancient trace of the walls, marked by some specific interventions, such as the new access to the Eurialo Castle, a cafeteria and a belvedere that connects the upper and lower parts of the city.

CASTLE’S NEW ENTRY

EURIALO CASTLE

Much of the castle’s volume has been lost over the centuries, therefore the new access must take advantage of the slope of the land and allow an initial overall reading. The building has a first path that allows a complete view of the castle and a second, closer to the ruins themselves. Inside there is a cafeteria open to the maritime landscape to the north, a ticket office and services for tourists.

The archeological area of Targia hold a belvedere tower that connects the cycle path and the wall park. A caffè is placed next to a trace of an ancient greek street and gives a magnificent view to the park and the city coast. All the buildings are connection between the history and the landscape, both elements that are non well valorized in this part of the city.

A co-housing project

The studied area in located in Lughignano, Treviso. Here a river park comes to life, following the path of the river Sile. The project provide a market place that, with his square, become a meeting between the old and the new. The area also hold 23 appartment, linked by a big common area which contains study rooms, kindergarten and laboratory, all huged by a big greenhouse, where the tenants can produce their own food. The same concept is applicated in the hospitality building, with all the common spaces at the last floor. We worked on tecnology and sustainability, studying a particolar light roof with mero tecnology. However, the greenhouse allows a good ventilation, as the double facade does. A brise soleil system protects the south esposed facade.

C Y C L E A B I L I T Y Our project for the roundabout derives from a reflection on the movement, born from the development of the cyclepath for the city of Negrar (Treviso),attempt to integrate it better. The idea of a project is therefore born from the union between the actual movement around the rotunda and its representation. The three types of trend, from the slower pedestrian, to the fastest of cars, are represented through a luminous installation that shows the various trends.

in collaboration with Marta Possiedi Marta Giovannetti university competition prof. Pietro Zennaro

L A G U N A INCOGNITA The island of Venice has about fifty-six thousand citizens, five thousand out-of-town students and thirty-four million tourists a year. The difference between inhabitants and tourists is clear , enough to create obvious inconveniences, in a city that was not born to accommodate such a large turnout. Evident is the need to create new spaces for landing the city, which allow to dilute the influx so large of people in places not exploited until now, but with great potential, for example the island of San Giorgio Maggiore.

PDR M O N T PA R N A S S E During the intership at DATA, I was able to participate in the design for the PRD Montparnasse contest. The competition required a renovation project of the Montparnasse station (Paris), in particular the office building located above the station. The model was made entirely in the office, in MDF, plexiglass and spray paint.
