interests I’ve always had a spontaneous passion for creativity in general. I consistantly cultivate with curiosity and passion my interest in architecture, graphics, fashion, design, photography, always keeping my eyes wide opened towards the innovations and continuous updates in these fields. I have attended a photography class at Rossoprofili cultural centre (PD), in collaboration with Padova Fotografia and with the photographer Marco Monari. I have good manual skills, and in my free time I make jewellery and accessories from salvaged or economical materials; this hobby is actually being pretty satisfying. I also take care of the graphic appearance and of the packaging project for the final product. In architeture and graphic design, I like to revise the project up to the detail, the materials; this propensity, toghether with my university experience, brought me close to the design of interiors and to retail. I nourish a strong interest in cooperation projects in developing countries and in the valorization of local and traditional constructive techniques. I’m a passionate traveller and a creative cook
computer and software skills Good knowledge of CAD drawing softwares. I attended the “CAD drawing class. Scientifical methods for the interpretation and representation of architecture” (october - february 2007) and the “Autocad designer, 3D Modelling and Rendering” class (april 2013), both professional classes held by the FSE (European Social Fund) and a “Cinema 4D” course with Adatta Formazione. I achieved the ECDL European Computer Driving Licence Certificate. Great familiarity with the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign). Great familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems, Office suite and Internet and E-mail systems
language skills I achieved the First Certificate of English level C1, issued by Cambridge University, with a final score of A. I spent 4 months in the United States during the year 2004-05 and another month in the summer of 2008. Through these experiences I have gained an excellent level of written and spoken English, which I keep cultivating with continuity due to my personal interest in the language and the frequent use in studying and working, as well as in my free time. In september, 2009 I attended a level B2 Spanish class, held by the University of Padova. During my Erasmus in Spain I also took a basic level Catalan Language and Culture exam offered by the Modern Languages Centre of Girona University with a result of 9/10. I am actually attending a French class I have a particular aptitude for esily and rapidly learning new languages
social and organizational skills Ability to work in equipes, acquired thanks to the various ‘planning laboratories’ taken during university. I can work with others with a critical and constructive attitude, especially flexible and opened to other’s ideas and points of view. I can easily relate to people from different countries and cultures thanks to the experiences matured abroad. I’m able to communicate in a clear and accurate way, answering to specific requests. I organize my work autonomously, even when collaborating in groups, defining priorities and taking responsibilities, abilities earned through several collective planning experiences made during my university career, where I was asked to manage autonomously the different activities while keeping to deadlines and established goals.
Architecture
Khartoum, Sudan sustainable settlement for the production of resources from Jatropha IUAV University, Venice graduation thesis supervisors: arch. Eleonora Mantese, eng. Francesco Steffinlongo The construction of the processing centre is in fact a chance for the rehabilitation of a quality social fabric through the architectonic design of the spaces, seen as gathering places for human interaction. The centre is supported by a housing complex and community services. The facility produces biodiesel, soap and mild medical substances, thus supporting the nearby “Salam” Emergency Hospital. Furthermore, what’s discarded from these main lavorations of the plant, is reintroduced in the manufacturing circle with the production of soap to be sold in the fair trade market, or biomass to help redevelop the traditional activity of brick making, and so on. The main aim is to create a quality working environment, which at the same time becomes a place to regain a sense of community and a relationship with one’s own land and traditions. What is in the end produced by the centre, besides helping the hospital, also gives the local community the chance to have a role in the whole process, and to gain some economical autonomy. Keywords: ethical architecture, human sustainability, sustainable and passive building techniques, valorization of local resources and materials

The site is occupied by preexisting buildings, mainly rural. The planning choice is to keep them, following the imprint of the complex and using it as a guide line. The project superimposes the existing forms. Where possible and functional, some parts of the buildings are rehabilitated and reused. These are then integrated with the new buildings.

Being non-invasive and fit to a human scale, the settlement naturally suits the horizontal rhythm of the landscape. The one-storey height guarantees full accessibility and fluidity of movement in the area.
design process
The design process started out from a single, one storey block. This was excavated by a central courtyard which, as in the arab tradition, is not only the fulcrum of social interaction and of movements within the building, but also functions as a climatic control system. This happens thanks to passive building techniques, such as the presence of water pools and of green space. The initial volume is then further separated by thin-sized corridors which canalize the prevailing winds creating cross ventilation fluxes. The result of this successive subtractions is the composition of four single and self-sufficient boxes, linked by interstitions which function as connection spaces, at the same time assuming an active role in climate control. The boxes are opened as much as possible towards the court, while the external walls, more exposed, are almost completely windowless. This system is then protected from dust and mud by a step-high concrete platform, and from heat and sun by a common roofing and by an accurate shading design. The aim is to build quality working environments able to create nearness among people and space. a-a’ section

technology
The climatic regulation strategy is based on a “low-tech approach which tends to use the same difficult climate conditions of Khartoum to plan a synergy of passive techniques and solutions, derived from local construction traditions. The choice is to mitigate the climate, instead of creating an artificial one. The use of traditional simple techniques also has a cultural value, as it allows the locals to mange themselves in both construction and maintenance without always depending on foreign expertise.
Passive techniques adopted: - thermal mass - chimney air suction - natural cross ventilation - wind tower
- shading - direct evaporative cooling - rainwater recovering

The planning site offered a strong stimulus right from the start. It is a urban void, situated in a complex and discontinuous urban fabric characterized by a great heterogeneity in uses, forms, also deterioration and disuse. The area is a vital and difficult web of connections, relationships, and seizures with the territory. It is situated within an articulated urban system, where the city and the industrial and productive areas connect, and the dialogue between the different parts of the city is complicated and not always clear. It is where the human size of a residential settlement competes with the large scale of heavy transport. The design of a cultural and research center in this site, has the main aim of revitalizing the context, bringing new quality and reorganizing the existing networks, making the whole area more usable and giving new impulse to these forgotten and disused realities to become in fact part of the city. The heavy transportation system is re-planned, giving more space to urban scale traffic and to public transport. The settlement of a center with such a strong attraction power, a place for working, researching and for leisure, helps connecting the different parts of the city and in fact completes a complex system of areas of interest.

The center consists of a high glass building and a “basement”. In the glass building, the functional program is based on a central unit completely covered in wood, which hosts the main activities. This is encircled by the “glass box”, designed as a flexible place for meetings and encounters, and as an open space for circulation. It is expressly undefined in its function to provide adaptability. glass building a

The floors of these two bodies are staggered, as to create an interesting relationship and spatial complexity. The basement hosts spaces for studying and research (conference rooms, study rooms, a library ...)especially focusing on water related issues. Articulated in two-stories, it connects the different heights and improves the dialogue between the different parts of the complex.

Togetherness. Formes d’habitar vivendas in Carrer de la Rutlla, Girona Escola Politècnica Superior - Facultat de Arquitectura, Girona supervisors: arch. Jordi Hidalgo i Tanè, arch. Yolanda Ortega Sanz
planivolumetric
Togetherness is a word describing the ability of being with the others, of living together, of sharing one’s own space. This term belongs to the field of sociology, but it is also consistent with Architecture and Urbanism, as it concernes the capacity of creating environments able to answer social necessities as well as the relation with the surroundings, thus creating the concept of “city”. Social Housing is a fundamental element of construction in our dense and congested cities, as the project’s aim is to respond to that ideal of harmony and balance between private life and the one with our community, creating at the same time a dialogue among natural environment and architectonic artifice. This project’s aim was to plan over the existing urban fabric, and to experiment over different residential unit aggregation. The site is located in Girona, facing the river Onyar with one of the long sides and the inside of the city texture with the other. On the short sides it is enclosed by other residential buildings. This situation brought to two main aspects to resolve carefully: the private space of the single residential unit, and the connection with the city through public spaces and services. The functional program of the project requested the composition of 24 units for young people, of which the 80% for 1 or 2 people (35-40 m2) and the remaining 20% for 2 or 2 people (45-50 m2). Among these, 1 or 2 had to be accessible for the handicapped.

The planning process takes account of the special position of the site, in between the openness of the river view and the closed facade towards calle Rutlla. The composition is characterized by full height patios, which define the design of the units and of the interiors. The aim was to give the building a double character: even though introverted and with few openings towards the river and the calle, the patios guarantee lighting and ventilation, as well as a visual dialogue with the surroundings through the elaboration of selected points of view. Each unit has its own terrace to enjoy the outside space, protected by the exterior wall. As for the interiors, the choice was to locate all of the service areas (bathrooms, kitchens, storage rooms, ...) in a central strip, concentrating all of the plumbing and other technical installations and keeping at the same time an open central space. The ground floor is conceived as a wide covered square, hosting public and common services and functioning in fact as the link between the city and the river.

I came in contact with the world of graphic design through university. The continuous interwaving with the architecture field has ever since been a great creative stimulus: the need of communicating and passing on the meaning of a project, the ability of displaying information and ideas in an effective and aesthetically captivating way. Fascinated by this world, I decided to deepen my knowledge on its contents and possibilities through post-laurea internships and a continuous personal learning path. My attitude, precise and detail oriented, found in graphics and visual communication a stimulating field of experimentation. I have dealt with typography, magazines editing and publishing, corporate image, catalogues and depliants, graphical objects for hotel design projects, infographics and archigraphy.

Photographer for delight. Always attracted by the power of a photograpic image to describe and interpret spaces, objects, atmospheres, I started experimenting with this art during several trips, following the lead of my own spontaneous curiosity and my passion for architecture and for images. I always take my camera with me, to capture little details, forms, spatialities that catch my eye. Still on an amateur level, mine is a continuous path of experimentation and insight.
