About Carol Bennett She is a native of Los Angeles, who has spent the last 20 years living in Hawaii in Kaua'i. She spends all of her time surrounded by water, and a great deal within it. Her work is a meditative journey through both the water and through life. She is intrigued by how life continues to flow and change, being both in the moment and timeless. The viewer will experience being in a state “flow” – where the currents of the ocean suspend life and self, and the unexpected floats to the surface. Carol’s fascination with the swimmer imagery began when she was living in Los Angeles and swimming at the LA Athletic Club. According to Carol, “The floor beneath the pool, with its ethereal skylight, was an underwater observation room...used by Olympic coaches in the 1920's. I would feel like a voyeur, watching the swimmer's private time and drawing in their beauty. I became the swimmer I observed in the images I later created.”

Her work has been featured in many solo and group exhibits throughout the US. Carol has created a number of public art commissions worldwide . Her work is in numerous public and private collections including The Contemporary Museum of Art (Hawaii) and The Persis Collection of Contemporary Art. Elisa Contemporary Art has been representing her art since 2008. About Matt Story: Matt Story studied art from an early age and demonstrated a unique skill for rendering verisimilitude, or hyperrealism. "I was lauded for 'photo-realistic' technique, but I was never after that, really, after what a camera impartially sees, because there's so much more there, captured only by the human filter of memory. We all posses these invisible imprints, through experience and living, but often its only artists who can play it back for us, to remind us. The paint surface needs to be a mirror for the viewer, reflecting back not his or her superficial self, but a deep shared humanness. This is the essence of looking at a piece that's totally unfamiliar to you and yet, being awed with a sense of recognition. Your reactions, those memories and feelings are uniquely yours but you're suddenly filled with a sense that, you share them, at least with the artist, but probably even with everyone else. That of course is art at its best: the artist, sometimes doesn't even know what he's doing because he's a conduit of his or her own collective awareness." Story has worked for over twenty years from his studio in Los Angeles but in mid-2013 began traveling with his wife, first on the Isle of Palms near Charleston, South Carolina, Santa Fe, New Mexico, New Orleans and then New York, where he paints today, often twelve or more hours a day and seven days a week. His method of oil painting on canvas and panel closely resembles the classical method, used for centuries by masters such as Titian and Caravaggio, two of Story's heroes, fastidiously building up thin glazes, painting "fat over lean" with traditional materials. His work is included in private and corporate collections in the United States, Europe and Asia. About Roxanne Faber Savage: Roxanne Faber Savage was born in Boston (MA) and currently lives and works in Connecticut and New York. She is an award winning multidisciplinary artist with printmaking as her primary medium. Roxanne creates works on paper and other substrates, pushing the boundaries of traditional printmaking. Her graphic imagery of swimmers, powerlines, clover, balls and birds is developed through a mix of skill and intuition, using print, photography, and drawing techniques. Roxanne is a juried member of The Boston Printmakers, Silvermine Art Guild, and a recipient of a Weir Farm Artist Residency. Her art works are held in private and corporate collections including Impala Asset Management, CT & FL, Bonanza Productions/Film & Television, NYC & CA; Ocean House, Watch Hill, R.I.; Becker & Becker Architects, OCTAGON LP, NY; Cohen and Wolf, P.C. CT; Goldman Sachs NY; RD Weis Companies USA and Unilever USA. Roxanne earned her BFA with honors, Pratt Institute and MS Ed., Queens College.

Our Abstracted Landscape section will include artwork by Canadian Artist, Marie Danielle Leblanc and Connecticut Photographer, Allyson Monson About Marie Danielle Leblanc Canadian artist, Marie Danielle Leblanc, was born in Trois-Rivières (Quebec) and has lived and worked in Montreal (Quebec) since 1990. Her paintings transform landscapes into poetic worlds. Her deeply saturated palettes bring new life to the sea, land and sky. And she transports her viewers to timeless and imaginary landscapes. During her travels, she likes to write down her thoughts, make a note of the weather or the name of a place, take pictures and collect images. Leblanc’s travel diary is an ideal instrument for her. Whether she is driving on the highway or in the open country, walking on never-ending beaches or rocks stroked by the sea, it is through her travels that the artist captures landscapes that stretch into the vista. She has participated in twenty solo exhibitions, and more than fifty group exhibitions. Her work has also been shown throughout Canada and in Paris, Sydney, Mexico and Tokyo.

Many artworks in this series were inspired by her two month Trek in Nepal in 2014.Our gallery exhibit opened the day of the first devastating earthquake. A portion of all sales from this exhibit will be donated to Nepal quake relief efforts. These are the final artworks in this series of Abstracted Landscapes.

About Allyson Monson Emerging photographer Allyson Monson is one of our new gallery artists. Her creative vision transforms color and ordinary objects into painterly images. From a young age, Allyson always had a love for texture and color. Her specialized studies were textiles, merchandising and design at the University of Rhode Island and interior design at THE Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy. According to Allyson, "It is apparent that light and movement along with texture is what i see behind the lens. My ability to see ordinary objects differently is what makes my work personal. My love for color and OFTEN transforms life into a painting..."My images evoke light, movement, texture and color. My ability to see everyday objects differently, beyond the naked eye is what makes my photographs original. A new perspective on ordinary urban and suburban life." Growing up in the suburbs of New York she had the city at her fingertips. The fast action and energy of metropolitan cities remains her favorite subject. Allyson currently live in Fairfield County, Connecticut with her husband, two children and dog, ella.

Our Abracted Art based on the Planet Europa by California Artist, Stephanie Cate Stephanie Cate is an abstract painter based out of Los Angeles, California. She spent most of her childhood in France, before relocating to Los Angeles, California at fourteen. She spent a couple of years as an apprentice for a muralist in Santa Monica, painting large scale murals for casinos in Las Vegas and private residences before she decided to pursue her own artistic path. She attended Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, receiving a BFA in painting. Being surrounded by the history and architecture of France as a child and the grand decaying beauty of former centuries left an early impression on her that still influences her work to this day. After working for over a decade in a photographic based mixed-media process, Stephanie returned to her original love of pure abstraction to delve in further and reconnect with freshness and liberation of texture, line, shape and color. Stephanie's work is in public and private collections including Kelly Wearstler, Renee Zellweger, Annabeth Gish, Mr. Avi Amiel (President, Art Collector International Magazine), Rasa Center for Yoga( Oregon)and Wynn Tower Suites (Las Vegas)
