(Because You May Get It…That Is….If Fay Is Your Waitress) serves everyone at the ta ble, the man with the steak & eggs being last. The man looks down at those eggs, 2 yellow yolks staring him in the face, like 2 yellow eyes, whites moving and runny. He asks Fay, “Could you take these eggs and turn them over?” Fay says, “sure”…and as I am watching through the 2 way glass, I see her take her fingers, slip them under the eggs and turn them over. She then sits the plate back in front of the man. He had the strangest look on his face! He couldn’t believe what he had just seen! All of the men in the booth were rolling with laughter. Everyone turned to see why everyone was laugh ing so loud. The man started to get a little angry, when one in the group says… “Now, wait a minute….she did ex actly what you asked….you asked her if she could turn the eggs over…and that’s ex actly what she did! You didn’t ask her to take them back and have the cook turn them over or recook them.” The man took his fork, cut into the eggs, ate his steak and everything else on his plate. In fact, everyone ate every thing on their plates, enjoyed their meals and had smiles on their faces. When leav ing, the man (the one with the steak & eggs) pulled out his wallet, handed Fay a $20 tip, looked her right in the eye and said, “thank you!” I called Fay into the back room and lectured her about what she had done, say ing, “Fay, you CANNOT do things like that out there.” She looked at me and said, “This is the 3rd shift. I have to deal with these drunks all night long. They were all laughing as they went out the door, so what difference did it make? Besides, they left me a $20 tip!” Fay was wav ing the $20 bill in front of my face. I locked the office, look ing at her in disbelief. While shaking my head, I threw up my hand and said, “good night, Fay.
