Virgin of all virgins! To your shelter take us; Gentlest of the gentle! Chaste and gentle make us.

O by Gabriel's Ave, Uttered long ago, Eva's name reversing, Establish peace below .

Still as on we journey, Help our weak endeavor, Till with you and Jesus We rejoice forever.

Break the captive's fetters; Light on blindness pour; All our ills expelling, Ev'ry bliss implore.

Through the highest heaven, To the Almighty Three, Father, Son, and Spirit, One same glory be.

Show yourself a mother; Offer him our sighs, Who for us Incarnate Did not you despise.

Pray for us Most Holy Mother of God That we may be worthy Of the promises of Christ

AMEN The “Star of the Sea” prayer is traditional prayer for travelers to bring them safely to their destination. Our ultimate destination is heaven and so we add this prayer here as part of the Catholic traditions asking for Mary’s assistance to reach God.

Sub Tuum Praesidium WE fly to your patronage, O Holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our need, but deliver us always from all dangers--O Glorious and Blessed Virgin. Amen. Latin: Sub tuum praesidium confugimus, Sancta Dei Genetrix. Nostras deprecationes ne despicias in necessitatibus, sed a periculis cunctis libera nos semper, Virgo gloriosa et benedicta. Amen. (This is an ancient prayer dated that goes back as far as the 3rd century. It is a prayer that can be used to end Litanies to the Blessed Mother and so it is included here at the end of our book . According to the Roman Breviary, Raccolta #333. (Ind. April 5 1786, S. P., There is a partial indulgence for all the faithful who recite it.) Traditional prayers can be used by the Catholic faithful without copyright infringement because they belong to all of us as part of our traditions.

M This book was inspired by Titles from an ancient Irish Litany To the Blessed Virgin Mary. A “litany” is a list of titles Honoring the different Attributes of God, His angels and Saints. When we pray a litany We are participating in a Procession of praises. In this litany we Honor the work Of God in Mary, And in so doing we “Magnify the Lord…” Along with Mary , (Luke1) And all the Angels and Saints in Heaven.
