Summer Carnival – Marsaskala 28th August 2017 This year’s summer Carnival was held over the weekend the 25th to 27th of August. The second time for our locality, the spectacular summer Carnival, after two days in St Paul’s Bay, the Carnival’s the ‘ala grande’ closure was held in the picturesque village of Marsaskala. As the previous year, it was an enormous success. A huge mass of people from all over Malta filled the promenade to watch the colorful floats passing by. With a difference from last year, the dancing companies did their dances in Dun Tarcis Square with hundreds and hundreds of people watching. In the meantime the floats started their parade from near the Local Council along the coast where they met half way St Anne’s Marsaskala Band Club. The Carnival defile continued their parade to Dun Tarcis Square

where

the

floats

entered triumphantly in the Square and were given the memento for the day.

All this could happen thanks to the Cultural Minister, Dr Owen Bonnici, the organisers of the Summer Carnival who are the Maltese Arts Council with the support of Valletta 2018 foundation, Malta Tourism Authority in collaboration

Marsaskala Local Council.

One cannot forget the Mayor of Marsaskala, Mario Calleja, and the councilors of
