MUST BE 21 TO ENTER A BAR AND DRINK Can get charged with Minor In Possession (MIP) if drinking in a bar under 21. This can lead to doing many hours of community service, probation, and the expense of tickets and lawyers. Remember to have a sober driver when you are planning on leaving the bar. Getting into a car with someone who has been drinking is never a good idea. If you get caught driving after drinking it can lead to a DWI or a DUI. DWI is when you are driving while intoxicated and have a blood alcohol level that is over the legal limit. This can lead to spending the night in jail. DUI is when you are driving under the influence of alcohol. Usually people who get DUI aren’t drunk but just have had consuming alcohol before driving.

Types of
drinks
There are many types of drinks you can order while out. The
most common one is beer. While beer is cheap, there are those who don’t care for the taste of beer so they prefer something with a little liquor in it. You most likely wont be ordering a
cocktail while out in a busy crowd, but a nice cheap mix drink
might just do the trick. For an extra good time you might just move right into shots or bombs. This will hit you sooner than your average beer or mix drink.
You need to understand the difference between a shot and a bomb. A shot is a straight shot of your choice of liquor. You
normally wouldn’t ask for a shot of liquor from the rail though.
It’s more of a specialty type of liquor. A bomb has two meaning depending on how you order it. Some people get a bomb that is a mix of vodka and a few non-alcoholic drinks. Then they’re the bomb where you usually have a type of beer and drop a
shot into it and drink it. Irish car Bomb is a good example of this type of bomb.

worry, you haven’t had
too many drinks– this is bar time. Bar time lets the bar close 15 min
early this is to prevent the bar from serving
you alcohol after the legal time.
This is also a good time for those bars that stay open later than most to start to get busy.
Most bars will close at
1:30, but there are hand full of bars that stay

when you are a college student. But lets face
it– we all need a break
from those books once and a while. There are two ways to pay at a
bar, cash or card. When you pay with your card
have a minimum of
keeping an open tab, meaning you leave your card with the
bar tender and can
go back to the bar as

But you have to keep

leave an open tab with your card and pay
cash at the end of the night. This is leaving your card with them
showing you can pay for it, but using cash at the end so you
don’t have to keep
paying every time and getting change back.
If you leave your card over night a lot bars
will charge you a fee of 10% of your bill. Paying with cash is
easier. You pay right away when you get
your drink. This way
you know how much you can spend.
Need to Know
Tips
There are many things to remember before going out to a bar. It ok to go out with new people as long as make sure you know at least one person who you are going out
with. This one person should be someone you can trust. There’s always the chance of losing something when you go out. If that happens the first thing you need to do is back track. Call the
places you went and see if it got turned in. If you still can’t find your things and you had your ID and credit etc.… make sure you call and cancel them all.
.. .. .. .
Never take drinks from strangers Always watch your drink Know your limit Use the buddy system Have your ID Have a sober ride home Make sure you eat before going out
