the fragrance issue ELIZABETH GLANVILLE
hello in the know this month is the future trends for fragrance. This booklet will present and categorise four micro trends for 2016 fragrance advertising. Expect insight into mother nature, Andy Warhol, judging a book by it’s cover and rocking a bow tie.
contents 1................ within the elements 2................ boy meets girl in pop colour 3................ show me what you’re made of 4................ don’t sweat it
within the elements Inspiration from Earths finest... organic flower shapes and twisting vines have inspired this future trend for fragrance bottle shapes. Expect to see karl Blossfeldts work mimicked into structural glass shapes. The atmosphere is luxurios, dream like and futourstic.
boy meets girl in pop-colour Forget what you know about A/W 2012’s fashion trend ‘Androgyny, forget about the monochrome, the simplicity and the minimalism. ‘Boy meets girl in pop-colour’ is all about bright accents, prints and the maximalism... think Andy Warhol with a twist. Expect the fragrance industry to be siezing this trend within 2015 in the form of boyish shapes, and primary colours.
show me what you’re made of Show me what you’re made of...literally. Expect perfume backgrounds to be bursting with anything from spicey cinamon and zesty citrus from warm ambers and musky patchouli to sweet clary sage and tropical frangipani. Start judging the book by it’s cover because if its on it, its probably going to be in it.
don’t sweat it The new sport luxe for men. Made for the ‘i’m no good at sport but i can rock a bow-tie while doing it’ kind of guy. This trend is youthful, careless, lively, “sporty”, and luxourious. Men’s fragrance will be shifting from the macho to the masculine.
