MATERIALS LAB Introduction to textiles With in this project we were able to explore more with both simple and complex techniques methodologies for the production of materials and textiles. We also depend our knowledge of 3D printing, digital print and embroidery. I decided to make my project about the sea and looked into seaweed and aquatic animals that had tentacles, as the movements of both of these inspired me to create my shoe. Also from looking into octopuses and squids, I was inspired by their use of their ink in how they escape so I decided to incorporate that into my scarf design.

ACTIVE FUTURES Design Prototyping With in this project we dove into the world of sports wear and athelisure. Exploring the use of knitting machines we were asked to create a knitted trainer for a sport of our choosing.
I decided, with all the talk about LGBT+ and the Olympics that I wanted to incorporate that into my project. I looked into many sports were LGBT+ are represented and I decided on Wrestling. This allowed me to include the transgender flag colours into my project and not make it so in your face with the idea.

We must create a bag that incorporates our own design flare along with the original brand Ellesse as well as design 9 other items of our choosing.
I decided to take them down a route Ellesse hasn’t been down before. They specialise in Tennis and Skiing, so I decided to branch off the Winter Sport idea and look at Ice/Figure Skating. My aim was to create a backpack suitable to carry ice skating boots as no body has
