elcome to FutureScape 2018. It’s now very hard to remember the event’s humble beginnings some six years ago when we see what massive proportions FutureScape has grown to. The event, the single most informative day you will spend over the course of the year for your business, is the best that the landscape sector has to offer. It is regarded as the one day in the year the whole industry comes together as a community to celebrate, learn, discuss and debate all that is topical in landscaping, garden design, landscape architecture, arboriculture and grounds maintenance. Furthermore, it’s the only place you will see all the relevant suppliers to the sector under one roof. We have to make sure we stay ahead of the game which is always a difficult task, but every year we rise to the challenge to produce a spectacular event, which would not be possible without the support of suppliers to the landscape industry and all those who give their time and energy to contribute to our seminars and debates. How To Get There Venue Address Sandown Park Racecourse, Portsmouth Rd, Esher, Surrey, KT10 9AJ

By Car

Parking

From London, take the A3 and follow the brown venue signs to Sandown Park. Exit onto the A307 and continue to follow the brown venue signs. Alternatively, from the M25, exit at Junction 10 and follow the A3 towards London before exiting onto the A307 and following the brown venue signs. If you’re using a Sat Nav, please enter ‘Portsmouth Road’ rather than the Sandown Park postcode – this will bring you to our main car park which is just oﬀ the A307 (Esher High Street) and is directly in front of the main entrance. For electric car users, there are four Polar “fast charge” points in operation in the main car park.

Parking is free, with ample space for over 2000 cars. You can reach the car park from the A307 Portsmouth Road. Coach parking is also available at the same car park, and there are also allocated parking spaces for those with disabilities.

By Train Esher Rail Station is just a 10-minute walk from the main entrance of Sandown Park Racecourse. Visitors should turn left out of the station onto Station Road and then right at the T-junction to join the A307 Portsmouth Road. The entrance to Sandown Park is on the right hand side. Alternatively, there is a taxi rank at the rail station for those less able to walk. Please note that Esher rail station is located outside of Zones 1–6 and that Oyster Cards are not valid when travelling to Esher. A paper ticket must be purchased in advance of travelling.

Where to sit and eat In a day jam-packed with seminars, exhibitors and demonstrations, it’s important to take time to relax and re-fuel. That’s why this year we’ve allocated extra room for you to sit down and grab a bite to eat. Head to the Pro Landscaper Café in the Sports Bar for tea and coffee or to the Esher Hall where a variety of sandwiches, hot and soft drinks will be available. You have the option to either sit down and relax, or take it away. In Surrey Hall you’ll find a Costa Coffee serving all the chain’s usual drinks and bites. For something more substantial, you’ll also find the food hall serving hot food, sandwiches, and hot and cold drinks. Meet The Team Jim Wilkinson, Managing Director

Jim launched FutureScape in 2012 following the huge success of the development of a new industry magazine, Pro Landscaper, back in 2011. Jim and his wife Lisa, together with their sons Jamie and Joe, started their media company Eljays44 early in 2011. Jim’s track record as a successful business brand developer helped the magazine and event quickly establish themselves as leaders in the landscape sector.

Editor of Pro Landscaper, Lisa believes that the success of the magazine and FutureScape comes from forming strong industry relationships built on trust and a true passion for landscaping and horticulture. Both Lisa and Jim have immersed themselves fully in the landscape sector and have a true passion for the industry. Lisa’s ambition is to raise the proﬁle of the landscape indsutry as a viable and rewarding career choice.

Jamie Wilkinson, Event Director

Jamie decided on a career in the media world straight from college and was keen to bring the family together to start the business in 2011. He leads the Eljays44 sales team and has a great rapport with suppliers. Jamie is ambitious for the business and has a positive cando attitude. He has a true passion for FutureScape which he helped to build from the start, and loves nothing more than liaising with exhibitors at the event.

The panel consists of Mark Gregory (who has more Chelsea Gold medals as a builder and designer than anyone else), Ann-Marie Powell (a well-known personality who works very closely with the RHS), David Dodd (a veteran of Chelsea who runs a very successful business in Sussex) and Jo Thompson (a highly creative designers and another big player at RHS shows).

For the last six years, the View From The Top debate has been the ﬁnale of FutureScape, and we would like to announce that this year we will be refreshing and updating this evening event. If you cast your mind back six years, the ﬁrst ever debate hosted 60 invited guests, followed by canapés and a glass of wine in a very small room at Kempton Park Racecourse. Now fast forward to last year when we welcomed an audience of nearly 300 people at the View From The Top debate followed by a three-course meal which all ended rather late!
