There are a wide range of schemes; some are loyalty schemes where manufacturers offer installers incentives to use their products, whilst others are schemes where the installer is approved by the manufacturer and in essence becomes a part of their family.
Installer schemes can offer a wide range of enefits as lon as the r ht scheme s chosen Membership can be a strong sales tool. The association it gives installers with a well-known and respected brand offers customers peace of mind when they’re choosing someone for their project.
chemes should offer the nstaller field support, which can range from business advice and product sourcing through to assessment
and workmanship skills advice. Schemes should also offer installers self-marketing collateral, sales presenters and bespoke brochures to help with the sales process. Also, loyalty points for installing that manufacturer’s products which can be cashed in for freebies. Some schemes will also offer access to exclusive products and to in-house design services.
In my opinion the most important thing to look for is whether the scheme assesses its members or not – that’s before membership is approved and then regularly throughout their membership. Furthermore, these assessments should e made h hl ual fied and experienced individuals.
This is the only way that you can be
confident that the r workmanship skills and service levels are up to the highest standards.
The actions of one poor contractor could affect the integrity of the whole scheme and no installer worth their salt should want to be associated with people offering sub-standard services.
In my experience installers get the most out of a scheme when they regularly call u on the e ert se of field ased support – whether it’s for assistance with installation issues or business support. Your scheme operator should be there to help you to maximise your mem ersh enefits

Support to market your business including Approved status and use of the Marshalls Register
Becoming a Marshalls Register Member was the best decision I ever made, it has transformed my business. The products are great quality and the support I receive from them is fantastic; my business would not be the success it is now without them. I used to pay for expensive advertising with little success, once I joined the Register and people could search for me via the Marshalls website I stopped the advertising and I can honestly say that I’ve never been so busy. My phone rings constantly and the majority of these enquiries come via the Marshalls website.
Neil Messer, Grand Designs Hemel Hempsteadlogo and an annual Landscape Awards with the opportunity to win a Toyota Hi-Lux and other high value prizes.Your business will also be promoted on the installer gallery and on the Marshalls ‘Find me an approved local installer’ online search option. You will also get Marshalls brochures printed with your logo and contact details on the cover, marketing mater als nclud n an st c ers ers and door hangers to market your business, business support from a dedicated local Marshalls Territory Manager and a Marshalls Hard Landscape Guarantee developed to ensure peace of mind for your clients and help you win more business.
Marshalls will also reduce the day to day headaches, giving you installation manuals detailing “how to” for the full Marshalls product range, Marshalls training courses on items such as Permeable Paving and on-site technical support from Marshalls Register Regional Assessors, all of whom are ex-installers.There is also an attractive rewards scheme where you earn points an all of your Marshalls product spend to exchange for workwear, sample boards or free Marshalls products delivered to your site.
For an application form please call 0870 411 2102 or email registerinstaller@marshalls.co.uk. You will initially be asked to complete the application form truthfully and in full providing six consumer references for hard landscaping projects constructed in the last 12 months and to supply trade references from merchants or suppliers and show proof of third party public insurance up to £2,000,000 and Employers Liability Insurance up to statutory minimum. Subject to acceptance of the above your local Register Assessor will then visit your sites and view work in progress and you will also be invited to a formal interview.
We know it’s those nishing touches that really turn a good job into a masterpiece. Moving that last stone one more millimetre, or giving a driveway one nal sweep.
And every one of our Marshalls Register Installers thinks the same way. Has the same eye for detail. Because this is what we love. If you take as much pride in your craft as we do, and only want to use
the best products, then join a group of expert installers just like you. Our Installer scheme is the only one to fully assess the quality of your work. By completing a series of strict assessments to show you reach the highest standard, you could become a Register Member associated with the industry’s foremost landscaping brand. I have recently joined the NPP scheme and have to say it is much better than other schemes I have been a part of previously. NPP provide some things as standard, which I did not expect at all from a supplier and based on experience of other schemes. They are always on hand to speak with and deal with me directly as opposed to asking me to call my merchant, they source full quotes for me, sell part packs on premium products which saves me money and reduces my waste materials and regularly bring me samples to site for me and my customers. A fantastic service from a great team.
Martyn Smith, Creative Landscapesfirst o n and an annual ac hen ou rene our annual mem ersh ou ll find our com an rofile and search fac l t on the ne 2014 NPP website and will be able to use the Approved logo (subject to T&C’s). All Approved Members will receive full product training, a dedicated point of contact and continual Natural Paving development. You will be forwarded sales leads received by phone, email, from shows and exhibitions and through the website from customers in your area.
Simply contact Rebecca Hughes or go online, www.naturalpaving.co.uk. The process is straight forward and involves the applicant completing a simple form, providing three references, accepting the T&Cs and highlighting what they want in their bespoke welcome pack. Once the form is received, the references are followed up and you will be introduced to your local
suppliers. Subject to all of the above, you will be approved as a member and receive your es o e elcome ac nclud n cert ficate approved logo and membership number.
