General Information

What’s the Buzz... Dear Members, Our membership at the Senior Center continues to grow, having passed the 300 member mark late in 2023. We were busy little bees this past year as we added many new activities to our already loaded events list. Looking back, we remember all the wonderful times we had at the Sheila Ray Adult Center. Some of our recent activities included the very popular Senior Olympics with the Elk Grove High School seniors, the 5 day bus trip to Nashville, and many more day trips too numerous to list. I was so lucky to be part of the park district’s first extended bus trip and I’m looking forward to many more. We also had many luncheons: Veterans Day, Rotary, and P.A.S.T. and the annual holiday luncheon at the Belvedere. We have been very busy, but we have even more to look forward to. Looking ahead to 2024, January, February and March promise to be as entertaining as always. January‘s luncheon will feature a Las Vegas theme, where we all get to try our luck at blackjack and left right center. February’s Valentines Day luncheon, Love is in the Air, will feature the Don and Rod Duo. In March, we will celebrate St Paddy’s Day with Rick Pickren singing Irish tunes. We also look forward to trying our luck at the Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin, exploring the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art in Oak Brook, watching Billy Elliot at Paramount Theatre and listening to the Ocean’s Rat Pack perform at the Jacob Henry Mansion. I hope you can be part of all the trips, luncheons and activities at the Sheila Ray Adult Center. Be sure to invite your friends and neighbors to our Open House on Friday, March 15. Happy New Year! Let’s all make this year the best year ever at the Sheila Ray Adult Center! Donna Tognocchi, Advisory Board President
