T’S not difficult to get a massive girl crush on Louise Brealey. Best known for playing love-struck Molly in iconic BBC drama Sherlock – the observant pathologist who sees beneath the brashness of Benedict Cumberbatch’s high functioning, sociopathic detective –and got to kiss him in season three (jealous? Us?), she’s also a journalist, producer and theatre actress. Plus, she’s way cooler than Molly: more forthright, funny, nicely sweary, thoughtful, and just as bright, she is also excellent on Twitter where her 176k followers get treated to photos of dogs pretending to be dinosaurs and her witterings on birds – she loves birds. stories that resonate with people in 2015, but there was something about the sheer joy of this adaptation, the celebration of it, the wit of it and the bravery of going so far from [the original], it just worked and obviously Ben and Martin are just the most extraordinary double act.” Ahh Cumberbatch and Freeman; are they really as wonderful as they seem? “They are both perfect all the time – haha! I couldn’t possibly say,” she laughs. “I’m just really, really thrilled to be part of the team. I still have to pinch myself, it’s a great job, and they’re my friends. Benedict is my friend – on a personal level it’s enriched my life.” Sadly we are not chatting to promote the new season of Sherlock
