1. What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them? The skills that I have developed through this module would definitely be my confidence skills and also knowledge of business. By having to present to the group my presentation skills have improved no end. I feel confident to present to large numbers of people and also to do this without the aid of notes. I also feel that my confidence has improved when it comes to contacting studios. I can still improve on these skills and I plan to do this over the third year. The Life’s a Pitch brief opened my eyes to the world of business, I enjoyed the brief because it was a fun way to learn about boring facts and figures.

2. What approaches to/methods of design production have you developed and how have they informed your design development process?

Contacting studios – Using phone and e-mail I have been able to contact studios to enquire about visits and placements. I have secured one placement so far and I am looking to extend my time at Numiko or get another placement for the summer period. I think that by taking part in a placement my practice will benefit massively.

3. What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these? Confidence to learn would be the biggest strength in this module, I think that my confidence has improved and I am now happy to say that I do not know something and would happily go away and learn about it. I think that this shows throughout my PPP blog especially when it comes to studio visits and primary research.

4. What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these in the future?

Time management has definatley been my weakness in this module, I have struggled throughout the year to keep my time equal to all briefs and I think that PPP suffered the most. Saying this I am very happy with the outcome of my PPP module and feel that it looks as good as I would have wanted it to look.

5. Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these? Manage my time efficiently – Don’t leave blogging until the end Spend more time choosing a group – Web based business would have been a better option for me Leave more time to produce personal branding – spot varnish would have been preferred

6.How would you grade yourself on the following areas: (please indicate using an ‘x’) 5= excellent, 4 = very good, 3 = good, 2 = average, 1 = poor 1

Attendance X Punctuality X Motivation X Commitment X Quantity of work produced X Quality of work produced X Contribution to the group The evaluation of your work is an important part of the assessment criteria and represents a percentage of the overall grade. It is essential that you give yourself enough time to complete your written evaluation fully and with appropriate depth and level of self-reflection. If you have any questions relating to the self evaluation process speak to a member of staff as soon as possible.
