Stay home tonight? Why would anyone want to do THAT? And there’s no reason to when you’re in Ellicottville. Catch national, regional and local bands at bars and restaurants in the village all year long — a great way to visit with old friends and make some new ones, too. A little wine or beer tasting is always a fun time and the village offers both. Be sure to save the date for Holiday Valley’s Nov. 7 Brew Masters Dinner, an intimate beer and wine pairing experience, and the Nov. 8 annual Beer & Wine Festival, featuring 100-plus handcrafted beers from more than 30 of the best New York State and American craft breweries and wines from New York, Southern Ontario and Ellicottville vintners. You can even taste some ciders, too.
Adrenaline Junkie
The adventurous twinkle in your eye and slightly upturned grin give you away every time. Good news! There are so many adrenaline rushworthy places you will never forget. Start at Holiday Valley’s Sky High Adventure Park and challenge yourself on the Aerial Park’s 13 courses with zip lines, bridges and platforms, and levels from easy to commando; feel the rush on the 4,805-foot Mountain Coaster ride through the woods; and harness in for a thrilling 45-foot-high climb in the enchanted trees of the Climbing Forest. Under cover of night, explore the Aerial Park at a Night Crawlers Night Climb Oct. 17–18. For a pitch black, frighteningly good time, take a Nightmare Hayride on Sommerville Street that includes an unparalleled hayride with live monsters, a creepy maze and dizzying haunted barn.
