Two Wheels All the Rage Road Biking and Mountain Bike Stunts Take the Stage By Eva Potter
This weekend in Ellicottville is all about pedal power. A premier road cycling event and a unique mountain bike stunt show highlight how you can have a blast on two wheels. The first annual Cycling Weekend is taking place at Holiday Valley, June 6–8, when registered riders will take to area roads for long-distance rides. If you encounter riders on area roads, please be sure to give them lots of room to enjoy the road along with you. Also this weekend, the Chris Clark Mountain Bike Stunt Show, on tour through Bell Helmets, is scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday, June 7-8, in the village on Monroe Street. Clark’s technical mountain bike performance loaded with tricks and obstacles will take place both days in the village on the northern side of Monroe Street, which will be closed to traffic. Clark will be performing two shows daily at noon and 3 p.m. in front of the Winery of Ellicottville. The shows are free to the public. Clark, who has entertained crowds at the Gravity Games, the Vans Warped Tour, the New York Times Square Parade and the Olympic Games, is a dedicated professional stunt cyclist with over a decade of experience. You won’t want to miss the exciting demonstration portion of this family-friendly event. It’s not your ordinary ramp and tricks stunt exhibition. When you come to Clark’s show, you’ll see this talented cyclist use years of intense training, agility and balance as he slowly works his way up to some impressively large obstacles, including his 8-foot-tall trailer. Clark’s high-energy stunts and skills translate well to
