Hungry for the best of the best eats in EVL? Welcome to the 30th annual Taste of Ellicottville, Aug. 1516, from noon to 4 p.m. each day, where you can dine caféstyle all along the streets of the Village. Here’s how it works. Purchase tickets at the centrally located booth, then use the tickets to buy your favorite items. Tickets are $1 each and all items are 1-4 tickets. Then get grazing, using your map and menu to guide you to anything your tummy desires. Enjoy treats and samples from all your favorite EVL hot spots, including Katy’s Cafe, Katy’s Catering, The Gin Mill, The Barn Restaurant, Armor Inn, Tim & Bonnie’s, Holiday Valley, Bike ‘N Bean, Tips Up Cafe, Madigan’s, Balloons, Cadillac Jack’s, Wholesome Hideaway, EBC, Watson’s Cholcolates, Dina’s at the Mont and Dina’s. And just what deliciousness can guests expect? Get your protein on with smoky root beer pork sliders, bourbon pulled chicken, roast beef sundaes, shepherd’s pie, bleu-cheese crusted pork medallions and much more, including, of course, wings of every manner and style. Lucy-Desi Comedy Center to Expand

What event would bring such celebrities as Jerry Seinfeld, Nick Offerman, Melissa Rivers, and Regis Philbin to Western New York? The Lucille Ball Comedy Festival, which took place from July 30 through August 1, brought these and several other comedians to Jamestown
to celebrate the groundbreaking of the National Comedy Center. This brand new center, scheduled for completion in spring 2017, is an instrumental part of the “Legacy of Laughter” vision for the Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum & Center for Comedy. Jamestown, NY, the hometown of legendary comedienne Lucille Ball, is excited to welcome this multimillion-dollar project to the downtown area, where the Museum has been upholding Ball’s legacy for many years. Osteria 166 Owners to Open Restaurant in EVL The Barn Closing Aug. 16 By Jann Wiswall
The owners of the highly rated Italian restaurant, Osteria 166, at 166 Franklin St. in Buffalo report that they plan to open a second restaurant at 7 Monroe St. in Ellicottville, the current location of The Barn Restaurant. The Barn is closing Sunday, Aug. 16, said owner Roger Spell. “We’ll be at the Taste of Ellicottville all weekend and open for dinner Thursday – Sunday.” Spell said that he and partner Kevin Watt tried to purchase the building, but were unable to come to terms. Village Board Finalizing WWTP Sets Public Hearing on Lawn Maintenance Laws By Jann Wiswall
The Village of Ellicottville’s board got to work at its meeting on Monday, Aug. 10, finalizing details for the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) construction project. Several resolutions were approved regarding financing, the State
Environmental Quality Review status and the notice of the electrical contractor award to O’Connell Electric, whose work will begin once financing is in place. In addition, the board approved a proposal from Village Engineer Mike Smith to hire Municipal Solutions, Inc. to apply for a state grant to offset some of the
project’s costs. Smith reported that a preconstruction meeting was held with the general contractor, STC Construction, and O’Connell Electric to walk through procedural issues and said that an electronic construction management tool will be used to track all activity See Village Board page 12
