Battle of the brushes.. This is the place where we search for two products and compare them against each other, one is on the lower end of the price scale and the other is on the higher. The two products we have to compare today are blusher/bronzer brushes. One is by Real Techniques and the other by MAC. Both are made for the same purpose, but do they both work as good as each other? That’s what were going to find out.
First we have a blusher/ bronzer brush from Real Techniques. Priced at £9.99 its a very affordable brush. I personally love these brushes and have many from there range but this one has to be best out of the range in my opinion. It’s an extremely soft brush which makes it a bonus to it looking nice as well with it’s pink exterior!
3
Mac VS Real Techniques The story behind these brushes is also amazing and really does entice you into buying into the brand! There created by two sisters called Sam & Nic Chapman who are makeup artists and who also make youtube tutorials using there makeup brushes to help others who need help once buying the brushes - or even if you don’t!
Our winner is the Real Techniques brush by far - but what brush do you prefer? Tweet us @NudeMagazine and let us know!
The brush fits perfectly in the cheek bone area and gives such a lovely sculpted look weather your using bronzer or blusher. It gives a nice light coverage to the cheeks but once the product is built up on the brush it can be applied to a more darker desired shade.
Now we have the more expensive brush which is the 129, Blush brush from MAC cosmetics. Priced at £27 its on the more expensive side but I personally feel it’s still quite affordable and will last a very long time. The bristles on the brush are soft but are not as soft as the Real Techniques brushes. Knowing that this brush is expensive you expect a lot more from it. The brush has a nice exterior and is very sleek looking but that doesn’t distract from the fact that when using the brush it sheds quite a bit onto your face which can be a nightmare when you apply straight after foundation. The brush irritated my face quite a bit when using it which is extremely annoying after a few uses!

Beauty Bits.. Essie Nail Polish Bright colours are all in this spring/summer and what better way to bring some colour into your life than with a pop of colour on your nails! Essie nail varnish in the shade ‘Splash Of Grenadine’ is a perfect light purple shade. It’s the shade that we’ve all been looking for to wear all summer round. Essie as a brand are priced around £8.50 but are completely worth the money as they have the most beautiful shades and they apply very neat and quickly. To pick up one of these nail varnishes yourself then head down to Boots or Superdrug where they have every shade you could desire!

Laura Mercier Foundation
Laura Mercier silk crème foundation is quite a well known product in the beauty industry but not very well known to the public. It comes at a price of around £35 which is quite expensive but the quality of this foundation is like nothing else on the market. It’s sleek packaging makes it easy on the eye but the product inside gives all the elements you could ever wish for in a foundation.
The packaging for the foundation is quite basic yet does the job which is all that is required when you purchase a good product like this. The price you are paying is very high but it is for sure an investment product and will last you a very long time.
It has a good application and works especially well when using a beauty blender sponge which ensures it applies smoothly and as full coverage as possible. You can pick this foundation up online or in store at Fenwicks.

Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair..
Vintage fashion is becoming increas-
ingly popular within all ages and I decided to check out Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair. It’s a fair that travels around the country going to all major cities to showcase amazing vintage clothes and accessories. I found out about the event on Facebook, although I had not heard about this fair before I was shocked at how many people were there. I assumed the crowd would be of an older generation, people who had money to spend but there were mainly students and teenagers rooting round the stalls for a bargain. The location of the fair was really nice and was in the town hall, which is a nice convenient spot for people who are coming from elsewhere or even just around Leeds.

Walking up to the town hall it looked very glorious and was a perfect location for the vintage fashion fair. As I walked in you instantly felt like you were being transported back to the 80’s/90’s with the cool layout and its stylish stands. It was £2 entry for the event, which I thought, was a fair amount considering you could potentially be buying quite a lot of items in the fair anyway. The fair was set up between two rooms, one as you walk in and one on the lower staircase. The room that you first enter is the main room, which has anything from vintage dresses to distressed denim.
.
Leeds.
I loved the vibe of this room; it has so much atmosphere, which is what you really want when you are going to an event like this. As I wondered round the room I noticed that all of the sellers on the stalls were dressed the part and were really passionate about what they were selling. On one stall there were a pair of bronze doc martins, which I absolutely loved, it’s so nice finding hidden gems in a pile of things that you wouldn’t usually look at. There were girls and boys of all ages even mums and there kids hunting round the fair trying to find a bargain, the prices were really good although some items were on the pricey side due to them being vintage.
In the second room there was a cute little sign saying ‘more stalls and tea party this way!’ I went downstairs and there were cute little stalls selling cupcakes and tea and even a mini hair salon where you could get your hair done in ‘victory rolls’ which looked so glamorous. There were some clothing being sold down there but it was way more high street and current than the clothing being sold upstairs. I had a little look through the rails but the clothes more way more urban than vintage.
It roughly took me about an hour and a half to go completely round the fair as in my opinion it wasn’t very big and I definitely had higher expectations of how big it would be. I really enjoyed the event even though I didn’t pick anything up, I would definitely go to it again if it came around!

Braid Craze..

. Your Personal Guide To Braids.. From the French braid to the fishtail plait, braids have always been around, but this spring/summer there back and there more cool than ever. Were going to show you 3 easy hair styles that can be created within 5 minutes so it’s perfect for whatever occasion your wanting the style for. Follow the steps below for the perfect braided hair style! Don’t worry you can do these styles with any length hair, just adjust the braid length to the length of your hair!
For all styles ensure your hair is the desired texture, whether you want it silky straight or voluminous and curly. This first step is essential as it will help determine which style would best suit your hair! 16
Style One: The Milkman Braid
The first style is a classic braided hair style that has been sported by the likes of Mary-Kate & Ashley Olson, Katy Perry and Jennifer Lawrence. Step One: Section a piece of hair from the front of your ear to the back and pin it away from the rest of your hair - do this on the other side as well. Step Two: Tie the remaining hair into a pony tail at the back to get it out of the way - at this point you could also leave two sections of your fringe out at the front to frame your face. Step Three: Now your going to French plait your hair either side and bring them towards your head and secure them under each other with a hair grip. Step Four: Now hairspray and your set to go! You can also wear your hair in a bun with this style but for our look we have styled the hair in a sleek straight look.
17
Style Two: Half Up Half Down Braid This hair style is simple and easy - perfect for either a day time look or a night out. Step One: Start by simply pulling some hair from the front and make a section above the crown of your head. Step Two: Gather the hair up and start to braid it neatly down the back of your head. Step Three: Finish off the look with hairspray and now your plait is complete!
18
Style Three: Braided Bun
19
The final plaited hair style we have for you is the simple messy bun with a braid. It’s easy to achieve and can be done within minutes! Step One: Start by pulling your hair into a high pony tail on top of your head and secure with a hair tie. Make sure that you leave around an inch section of hair - this will become your plait. Step Two: Twist the hair around the pony tail to create a shape that looks something like a bun. Step Three: Grab a few hair grips and start to mould the shape of the bun. Step Four: Once you have ensured that your bun is the perfect shape, use your hair grips to fasten in place. Step Five: Using the piece of hair that you previously left out of the pony tail, begin to plait it and twist it around the base of the bun and secure with some grips Now your hair should be looking perfect!
