New Era in the USA Donald Trump is now the 45th President of the United States. A bitter and bizarre presidential election period ends and we must face the facts and the days after. “The unthinkable is only unthinkable until it happens. Then, like the sack of Rome, it can seem historically inevitable”. The Guardian Is this an American catastrophe that America has brought upon itself. When it came to it, America failed to find a credible way of rallying against Mr Trump and what he represents. Hillary Clinton failed that crucial test both in herself and in what she offered; for her this is the end. Mr Trump was not taken seriously and was widely not expected to beat Mrs Clinton throughout the long, bitter campaign. The group of '' Functional Reconstruction of Antikythera Mechanism '' project, (FRAMe) studied, processed and analyzed a large number of X-ray scans, of the Antikythera Mechanism, which were taken in 2005 by the AMRP program. The result of the mathematical treatment of the scans, gave excellent contrast images, showing hidden detail which was not visible until now. These details proved to be very critical for the construction of functional replica of the Antikythera Mechanism from the FRAMe project team. Based on the processed images, team members designed, built all the parts of the mechanism and then assembled two models of the Antikythera Mechanism, which is functional, without design or mechanical deviation from the dimensions of the ancient original. During the assembly process, many answers to the questions being given, unknown until now, mechanical parts of the original. Furthermore, given the positioning of certain, crucial, details a fragment of ancient mechanism, the front side of the operating model differs from accepted to date version. Then, the FRAMe group proceeded successfully the complicated calibration process 8 pointers and indications of the Mechanism. During the study of processed X-ray tomographies was identified, evidence to suggest that the ancient machinist lathe manufacturer used for the manufacture of components. Wood and metals working machinery are
known to exist in ancient era and represented in ceramics vases, even in Egyptian tomb wall painting of 400 BC. The FRAMe project team also reconstructed the ancient tools (manual lathe and manual drilling machine) and handled them in experimental use to study their effectiveness, which has proved completely successful. For the design and manufacture of components of the functional models of Antikythera Mechanism (gears, shafts and axles), the FRAMe project team adopted techniques, for the conjugate much the ancient construction methods, using simple conventional manual or electric machinery and not used any kind of the modern technology. The construction of a certified and functional replica of the Antikythera Mechanism considered extremely very difficult task, because of the difficulty in interpreting the forms identified in the X-ray scans, the particular design of the ancient original, the way of construction and operation of the gears, the precise cooperation- implementation of parts and the non-use of modern mechanical parts, such as screws, nuts, etc. The program FRAMe project, which is still under way, cooperate Voulgaris Aristeidis (design, image processing - construction of parts-assembly), Mouratidis Christophoros (image processing-mathematical support) and Vosinakis Andreas (industrial design).

About the Antikythera Mechanism: The Antikythera Mechanism accidentally found in a shipwreck in a sea bay of Antikythera in 1900 by sponge symian divers. This is a unique mechanical structure consisting of gears, shafts, engraved plaques and pointers, made of some unknown ancient manufacturer, around 120 BC, who had knowledge of Mechanics and Astronomy. The operation was almost unknown until 2005, where the international interdisciplinary team of Antikythera Mechanism Research Project studied the scans, which received a special computed X-ray tomography. The Antikythera Mechanism was a kind of calendar and astronomical analog computer, which could provide for the position of the sun in the sky, the phases of the moon, eclipses of the Sun and Moon, and the month and time is going to happen. NO MATTER WHAT by Ron Paul I have said throughout this presidential campaign that it doesn’t matter much which candidate wins. Both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are authoritarians and neither can be expected to roll back the leviathan state that destroys our civil liberties at home while destroying our economy and security with endless wars overseas. Candidates do not matter all that much, despite what the media would have us believe. Ideas do matter, however. And regardless of which of these candidates is elected, the battle of ideas now becomes critical. The day after the election is our time to really focus our efforts on making the case for a peaceful foreign policy and the prosperity it will bring. We have learned a good deal about the state of the nation from the campaigns. From the surprising success of the insurgent Bernie Sanders to a Donald Trump campaign that broke all the mainstream Republican Party rules – and may have broken the Republican Party itself – what we now understand more clearly than ever
is that the American people are fed up with politics as usual. And more importantly they are fed up with the same tired old policies. Last month a fascinating poll was conducted by the Center for the National Interest and the Charles Koch Institute. A broad ranging 1,000 Americans were asked a series of questions about US foreign policy and the 15 year “war on terror.” You might think that after a decade and a half, trillions of dollars, and thousands of lives lost, Americans might take a more positive view of this massive effort to “rid the world of evil-doers,” as then-president George W. Bush promised. But the poll found that only 14 percent of Americans believe US foreign policy has made them more safe! More than 50 percent of those polled said the next US president should use less force overseas, and 80 percent said the president must get authorization from Congress before taking the country to war.

These results should make us very optimistic about our movement, as it shows that we are rapidly approaching the “critical mass” where new ideas will triumph over the armies of the status quo. We know those in Washington with a vested interest in maintaining a US empire overseas will fight to the end to keep the financial gravy train flowing. The neocons and the liberal interventionists will continue to preach that we must run the world or everything will fall to ruin. But this election and many recent polls demonstrate that their time has passed.

His first tweet as president-elect Donald Trump emerged shortly after 6:30 a.m. Wednesday to cast his first tweet to his 13.5 million followers as president-elect. “Such a beautiful and important evening!” he tweeted of his historic election from his fresh Twitter account, which now dons a new Twitter bio and cover photo that includes a background of the White House with the presidential and vice presidential seals alongside cut-outs of Trump and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence. “The forgotten man and woman will never be forgotten again. We will all come together as never before,” he said. The message was tweeted from an Android phone, indicating that it came from the newly minted president-elect instead of his campaign.

The great classicist A. W. Lawrence (illegitimate younger brother of the even more famously illegitimate T.E. “of Arabia”) once remarked of the Parthenon that it is “the one building in the world which may be assessed as absolutely right.” I was considering this thought the other day as I stood on top of the temple with Maria Ioannidou, the dedicated director of the Acropolis Restoration Service, and watched the workshop that lay below and around me. Everywhere there were craftsmen and -women, toiling to get the Parthenon and its sister temples ready for viewing by the public this summer. There was the occasional whine of a drill and groan of a crane, but otherwise this was the quietest construction site I have ever seen—or, rather, heard. Putting the rightest, or most right, building to rights means that the workers must use marble from a quarry in the same mountain as the original one, that they must employ old-fashioned chisels to carve, along with traditional brushes and twigs, and that they must study and replicate the ancient Lego-like marble joints with which the master builders of antiquity made it all fit miraculously together. Don’t let me blast on too long about how absolutely heart-stopping the brilliance of these people was. But did you know, for example, that the Parthenon forms, if viewed from the sky, a perfect equilateral triangle with the Temple of Aphaea, on the island of Aegina, and the Temple of Poseidon, at Cape Sounion? Did you appreciate that each column of the Parthenon makes a very slight inward incline, so that if projected upward into space they would eventually steeple themselves together
at a symmetrical point in the empyrean? The “rightness” is located somewhere between the beauty of science and the science of beauty. With me on my tour was Nick Papandreou, son and grandson of prime ministers and younger brother of the Socialist opposition leader, who reminded me that the famously fluted columns are made not of single marble shafts but of individually carved and shaped “drums,” many of them still lying around looking to be re-assembled. On his last visit, he found a graffito on the open face of one such. A certain Xanthias, probably from Thrace, had put his name there, not thinking it would ever be seen again once the next drum was joined on. Then it surfaced after nearly 2,500 years, to be briefly glimpsed (by men and women who still speak and write a version of Xanthias’s tongue) before being lost to view once more, this time for good. On the site, a nod of respect went down the years, from one proud Greek worker to another. The original construction of the Parthenon involved what I call Periclean Keynesianism: the city needed to recover from a long and ill-fought war against Persia and needed also to give full employment (and a morale boost) to the talents of its citizens. Over tremendous conservative opposition, Pericles in or about the year 450 b.c. pushed through the Athenian Assembly a sort of stimulus package which proposed a labor-intensive reconstruction of what had been lost or damaged in the Second Persian War. As Plutarch phrases it in his Pericles:

Americans are waking up Wednesday to learn that they've elected President Trump. The reality of this will come as a shock — just as the reality of Brexit came as a shock in the UK, where some people were apparently startled to realize what they had voted for. (Recent polls also suggest that, now that they've realized it, they regret it).
What are the consequences of electing Donald Trump president? What will happen? What will President Trump actually do? Based on what we've heard from Trump and his campaign over the past 18 months, as well as a close reading of experts like Evan Osnos of The New Yorker — who wrote a great article on the topic — here are some of my assumptions about a theoretical Trump presidency.

The smaller stuff:
President Trump will sign executive orders Trump is smart, he and his GOP allies will not actually
"erasing" as much of Obama's presidency as possible and tossing other bones to his supporters. These will likely include withdrawing the US from the Paris emissions accord, loosening background checks on people buying guns, restarting the Keystone Pipeline process, ordering investigations of trade practices, halting the flow of Syrian refugees, and more. (See Evan Osnos for more.) President Trump will reinstate methods considered torture under international laws as intelligencegathering tools. He will not call it "torture." He will describe it as the US finally getting tough ("an eye for an eye"). Trump will likely get pushback on this from senior intelligence and military officials. If the officials refuse to follow his order, Trump will fire them and replace them with generals and officials whose primary value is loyalty to Trump. President Trump will also appoint loyalists to as many of the 4,000 appointed positions he controls as possible. President Trump will immediately "bomb the hell out of ISIS" — somewhere. This bombing may be no different than the bombing the US has been doing for years. President Trump will tout it as a major new offensive and extol its effectiveness and toughness. He will boast about this show of strength compared with the weakness and stupidity of the Obama administration. He will come to enjoy having the power to command the world's most powerful military. President Trump will quickly work with Congress to "repeal Obamacare." If Congress blocks him on this, he will attack, shame, and bully key members publicly, while cutting deals behind the scenes. If President
repeal Obamacare because Americans like many features of it and because they have nothing to replace it with. They will just make changes to it that begin to fix some of its problems. President Trump will continue to use the same rhetorical style he has used throughout the campaign. Namely, he will lie, bully, shame, exaggerate, insult, and otherwise throw prior concepts of acting presidential into the dumpster. After a few months of disgust and alarm, Americans and other citizens of the world will get used to this, just as they have his campaign rhetoric. President Trump will also maintain the relationship to the truth that he has had throughout his campaign. Namely, he will cite actual facts and truth only when they help him. When the truth is inconvenient, President Trump will lie, deny, attack and threaten truth-tellers, speak in platitudes, and change the subject. The Trump administration will likely be one of the most secretive, most dishonest, and least transparent in modern history. President Trump will reward "terrific" people and punish "terrible" people. The common attribute of "terrific" people will be that they support President Trump. The common attribute of the "terrible" people will be that they oppose President Trump. After a bruising election, President Trump will have lots of rewards to provide and scores to settle. President Trump will announce that he is renegotiating NAFTA and other key US trade agreements and suspend potential participation in the Trans-Pacific Partnership. He will make minor changes to these trade deals and announce that he has replaced them with "great deals." He will tout any job growth that follows

President Trump will also likely slap high tariffs on Chinese imports to show that he is serious about "winning" and bringing jobs back. China will retaliate. The resulting limited trade war will likely be disruptive and bad for business in both countries. President Trump will say it is working great. President Trump will personally unveil plans for his southern border wall. He will deliver the press conference announcing it and show scale models of it. Some sections of this wall may eventually be built. American taxpayers will pay for them. Trump will boast about how the wall is responsible for job creation and reduced crime. He will also increase the size of America's deportation force and tout the number of people it
deports.

new spending on US infrastructure. Congress will support at least some of this. These projects will be unambiguously good for the country, even as they increase US federal debt. President Trump will also maintain Social Security and Medicare. He will pass a tax cut, of which most of the benefits will go to the wealthy. He will close the "carried interest tax loophole," which is one of the most egregious tax loopholes in the whole tax code. With the exception of the tax cut and deficit increase, all of these moves will be be good for America. turns.

geopolitical or military situation — with grave and potentially catastrophic consequences. Three obvious candidates involve the Middle East, North Korea, and China. The most likely candidate, meanwhile, is Russia. Trump will consider his personal relationship with Putin a higher priority than stopping Russia's territorial advances or supporting US allies. Putin already knows this and will take advantage of it. At some point, Putin will likely make a move into the rest of Ukraine or the Baltics. President Trump will either not respond, thus undermining NATO, or respond slowly or unwisely. He might also be so enraged by this personal betrayal by Putin that he might do something crazy, like nuclear saber rattlin President Trump will try to modify the First Amendment and restrict freedom of the press. He will initially do this by rewarding supportive news organizations and reporters and savaging critical ones. If this does not stifle criticism of him or his administration, Trump will increase his harassment of critics by ordering investigations and encouraging supporters to boy-
general to threaten news organizations with criminal indictments and force them to turn over their sources.
He will also do this on behalf of allies in Congress and organizations and people who support him, thus increasing support for actual changes in law.
President Trump will respond to terror at-
tacks by barring Muslims from entering the country and increasing surveillance and profiling of Muslims in the US. If the attacks continue, President Trump will take another step, creating Muslim registration and/or camps in the US. President Trump will also respond to attacks by obliterating cities in Syria, Iraq, and other countries to punish "radical Islamic terrorists" and their families (and hundreds of thousands of other people). More broadly, President Trump's bigoted rhetoric will likely inflame racial and religious tensions in the US, leading to more violence and protests. For many Trump supporters, making America "great" again means making America "white and Christian" again, and even if President Trump does not actively support this, he'll

do little to discourage it. (If the attack is just the usual generic US gun massacre, meanwhile, President Trump will extol the need for more guns for self-defense and tougher policing.) President Trump will get impatient with the "checks and balances" on presidential power and try to expand the power of the presidency. If the economy stays solid and there are no major terrorist attacks or geopolitical crises, this will be difficult to do. If the economy deteriorates or there is a crisis, however, it will be easier. It is important to remember that, if elected, Trump will already have far more power and public support than famous dictators had when they came to power.

At some point in President Trump’s first term,
there will be a major recession, and the stock market will drop 30-50% from the peak. President Trump’s policies may well trigger this recession. Trade wars, for example, generally hurt economies and lead to job losses. Whatever happens, President Trump will blame it on his opponents and use it to try to expand his own power (see above). Widespread economic misery will make this easier. Personally, I hope most of this doesn’t happen. I hope that President Trump will be the president that some of his smarter supporters expect him to be — not the mean, petty, reckless, and uninformed proto-tyrant he sounds like, but a reasonable, effective pragmatist who just enjoys entertaining crowds by saying outrageous and offensive things and otherwise acting like a boor. But given how consistent Trump has been in his actions and pronouncements over the past 18 months, I think it’s more likely that what we’ve seen is what we will get.

Κίτσιου, όπου προσεγγίζει το σημείο του τραυματία με τη βοήθεια αναρριχητή της «Αυτοκινητόδρομος Αιγαίου». Οι διασώστες προέβησαν σε ενέργειες σταθεροποίησης και μεταφοράς του
τραυματία από την πλαγιά που βρισκόταν και σε ύψος περίπου 80 μέτρων στο οδόστρωμα της Εθνικής Οδού. Ο υπεύθυνος Ασφαλείας της Ορειβατικής Ομάδας της 8ης ΕΜΑΚ, σε πρώτη φάση έλεγξε τον χώρο και έδωσε εντολές για τη σταθεροποίηση και τοποθέτηση του τραυματία στο διασωστικό φορείο, και υπέδειξε στον υπεύθυνο υλοποίησης, το σημείο στον βράχο που ακολουθήθηκε ως γραμμή κατάβασης. Στη συνέχεια ο υπεύθυνος υλοποίησης αποφάσισε για το σημείο αγκύρωσης, έκανε κατανομή ρόλων στην ομάδα, δημιούργησε την ομάδα ασφάλισης που θα κατέβαζε το φορείο με τα διασωστικά σχοινιά και την ομάδα διάσωσης που θα συνόδευε το φορείο στο κάθετο του βράχου. Το επίπεδο δυσκολίας ήταν αρκετά υψηλό, λόγω της μορφολογίας και της επικινδυνότητας του σημείου, αλλά και των καιρικών συνθηκών αφού στο σημείο επικρατούσαν πολύ δυνατοί άνεμοι, στο οποίο η Ορειβατική Ομάδα της 8ης ΕΜΑΚ ανταποκρίθηκε επιτυχώς, αφού στις 11:30 κατέβηκε με ασφάλεια ο τραυματίας – ο οποίος στη συνέχεια παρελήφθη από τους διασώστες του ΕΚΑΒ για τη διακομιδή του στο νοσοκομείο.

Λαϊκές εκφράσεις - τι πραγματικά σημαίνουν?
ΧΤΥΠΑ ΞΥΛΟ Στις περισσότερες των περιπτώσεων η λαϊκή σοφία, έχει τις ρίζες της στην Αρχαία Ελλάδα και το Βυζάντιο, αποδεικνύοντας κατ’ αυτόν τον τρόπο την συνέχεια του Ελληνισμού, εφόσον τις ίδιες φράσεις χρησιμοποιούμε και σήμερα. Οι άνθρωποι μπορεί να αλλάζουν ανάλογα με τις εποχές, ταυτόχρονα όμως, εύκολα διαπιστώνει κανείς, πως στην πραγματικότητα μοιραζόμαστε διαχρονικά τα ίδια πάθη, φόβους, ανησυχίες και ελπίδες.
«Απτεσθαι ξύλου», έλεγαν οι αρχαίοι Έλληνες. Λόγω της πεποίθησης τους πως στα δένδρα κατοικούσαν νύμφες (Δρυάδες/Αμαδρυάδες) χτύπαγαν το ξύλο του κορμού των δένδρων για να επικαλεστούν την προστασία τους, καθώς οι νύμφες μπορούσαν να πραγματοποιήσουν τις ευχές των ανθρώπων. Αυτή η συνήθεια συνηθίζεται ακόμα και σήμερα, όταν ακούμε κάτι το οποίο δεν θέλουμε να μας συμβεί…
ΙΔΟΥ Η ΡΟΔΟΣ, ΙΔΟΥ ΚΑΙ ΤΟ ΠΗΔΗΜΑ
Η παροιμιώδης αυτή έκφραση, προέρχεται από τον μύθο του Αισώπου, «Ανήρ κομπαστής», και χρησιμοποιείται για όσους καυχιούνται για κάτι και το υποστηρίζουν, αλλά αδυνατούν να αποδείξουν τα λεγόμενά τους. Σύμφωνα με τον μύθο, ένας αθλητής που βρισκόταν στην Αθήνα καυχιόνταν συνέχεια ότι σε αγώνες στην Ρόδο είχε πραγματοποιήσει ένα τεράστιο άλμα. Καθώς δεν τον πίστευε κανείς, αυτός έλεγε στους Αθηναίους να πάνε στη Ρόδο και να ρωτήσουν τους θεατές των αγώνων. Τότε ένας Αθηναίος πήγε στο σκάμμα, και με το χέρι έγραψε πάνω στην άμμο τη λέξη «Ρόδος». Κατόπιν γύρισε προς τον καυχησιάρη αθλητή και του είπε: «Αυτού γαρ και Ρόδος και πήδημα», το οποίο έχει μείνει ως «ιδού η Ρόδος, ιδού και το πήδημα». Το προφανές νόημα είναι ότι ο καθένας έχει οποτεδήποτε την δυνατότητα να αποδείξει τις δυνατότητές του και δεν χρειάζεται η επίκληση μυθικών προγόνων, κατορθωμάτων κτλ.
ΜΗ ΜΟΥ ΤΟΥΣ ΚΥΚΛΟΥΣ ΤΑΡΑΤΤΕ
Όταν οι Ρωμαίοι κυρίευσαν τις Συρακούσες το 212 π.Χ., μετά από τριετή αντίσταση των Ελλήνων, κάποιοι Ρωμαίοι στρατιώτες μπήκαν στο σπίτι του Αρχιμήδη, και τον βρήκαν να σχεδιάζει κύκλους στο έδαφος. Η φράση Κατά την διάρκεια του Τρωικού πολέμου, O Λαοκόων όμως έμεινε… ένας από τους Τρώες ιερείς του Θυμβραίου Απόλλωνα, προειδοποίησε τους συμπατριώτες του Τρώες, (μάταια) ΠΡΑΣΣΕΙΝ ΑΛΟΓΑ να μη δεχθούν το δώρο που πρόσφεραν οι Έλληνες -οι Όταν κάποιος σε μία συζήτηση μας λεει πράγματα με Δαναοί- στους Τρώες, όταν υποτίθεται ότι αποφάσισαν τα οποία διαφωνούμε ή μας ακούγονται παράλογα, να τερματίσουν την πολιορκία τους. To προκείμενο συνηθίζουμε να λέμε: « Τί είναι αυτά που μου λες; Αυτά δώρο ήταν, εννοείται, ο Δούρειος ίππος. Δώρο που είναι αηδίες και πράσσειν άλογα».Το «πράσσειν άλογα» αποδείχθηκε θανάσιμο και καταστροφικό για τους λοιπόν, δεν είναι πράσινα άλογα όπως πιστεύει πολύς Τρώες, και την αγαπημένη τους πόλη, την Τροία. κόσμος, αλλά αρχαία ελληνική έκφραση. Προέρχεται εκ του ενεργητικού απαρέμφατου του ρήματος ΚΡΟΚΟΔΕΙΛΙΑ ΔΑΚΡΥΑ «πράττω» ή/και «πράσσω» (τα δύο τ, αντικαθίστανται Ο κροκόδειλος όταν θέλει να ξεγελάσει το θύμα του, στα αρχαία και από δύο σ), που είναι το «πράττειν» ή/ κρύβεται και βγάζει κάτι παράξενους ήχους, που και «πράσσειν» και του «άλογο» που είναι ουσιαστικά μοιάζουν καταπληκτικά με κλάμα μωρού παιδιού. Έτσι, το ουσιαστικό «λόγος» που σημαίνει λογική (σε μία από αυτοί που τον ακούν, νομίζουν ότι πρόκειται για κάποιο τις έννοιες του) με το α στερητικό μπροστά. Α-λογο το παιδάκι και τρέχουν να το βοηθήσουν… Ο κροκόδειλος παράλογο, δηλαδή ,Πράσσειν άλογα, το να κάνει κανείς τότε επιτίθεται ξαφνικά και σκοτώνει το θύμα του. παράλογα πράγματα. Στην αρχαία Ελλάδα ο κροκόδειλος ήταν άγνωστος, οι Έλληνες όμως έμαθαν για αυτόν από τους Φοίνικες Ο ΚΛΕΨΑΣ ΤΟΥ ΚΛΕΨΑΝΤΟΣ εμπόρους, που τους γέμιζε με τρόμο και θαυμασμό Αρχαία ελληνική έκφραση, (Αλωπεκίζειν προς ετέρα για την δύναμη και την πανουργία του κροκόδειλου αλώπεκα). Παροιμία που λεγόταν για τους απατεώνες . Έτσι λοιπόν, παρόλο που στην Ελλάδα δεν υπήρχαν και μάλιστα σε περιπτώσεις που κάποιος εξ αυτών, κροκόδειλοι, τα «κροκοδείλια δάκρυα», που λέμε επιχειρούσε να εξαπατήσει άλλον απατεώνα. σήμερα γι’ αυτούς που ψευτόκλαινε, είναι φράση καθαρά αρχαία ελληνική. Η Δύναμη Αρχαίων Ελληνικών Ονομάτων και Ολύμπιων Θεών.
Από την αρχαιότητα ο άνθρωπος πίστευε στη μαγική δύναμη ορισμένων λέξεων, στην ικανότητά τους, αν προφερθούν σωστά, με έναν ορισμένο τρόπο, να παράγουν ορισμένα απτά, αντικειμενικά αποτελέσματα, για καλό ή κακό. «Υπάρχουν λέξεις», λέει η Μπλαβάτσκυ, «που έχουν μια καταστροφική ιδιότητα στις συλλαβές τους, σαν αντικειμενικά πράγματα, διότι κάθε ήχος εγείρει έναν αντίστοιχο ήχο στον αόρατο κόσμο του πνεύματος και ο αντίκτυπος παράγει ένα καλό ή ένα κακό αποτέλεσμα. Ο Πλάτωνας ασχολείται στο «Κρατύλο» με το πρόβλημα της δημιουργίας της γλώσσας. Βασικά εξετάζει εάν αυτή είναι ένα φυσικό ή ένα υποκειμενικό κατασκεύασμα. Την πρώτη άποψη υποστηρίζει ο Κρατύλος και τη δεύτερη ο Ερμογένης, ενώ ο Σωκράτης, σαν το τρίτο πρόσωπο του διαλόγου, αποδεικνύει ότι η αλήθεια βρίσκεται ανάμεσα στις δυο προηγούμενες θέσεις, δηλαδή ότι υπάρχουν λέξεις και ονόματα που καθορίσθηκαν φυσικά και νομοτελειακά από ειδικούς ονοματουργούς και λέξεις που καθορίσθηκαν υποκειμενικά και έγιναν τελικά αποδεκτές μέσω κοινής συμφωνίας και συνήθειας. Ο Σωκράτης επισημαίνει επίσης ότι ο ονοματοθέτης, ένα σπάνιο είδος τεχνήτη σε μια κοινωνία, χρησιμοποιώντας σαν εργαλεία του τα γράμματα και τις συλλαβές κατασκευάζει μία λέξη ή ένα όνομα που να αποδίδει με το καλύτερο δυνατό τρόπο της ιδιότητες του πράγματος που αυτά αντιπροσωπεύουν και το οποίο έχει αυτός σαν πρότυπο νοητά μπροστά του.. Αφού παραθέτει ένα πλήθος συνθέτων ή παράγωγων ονομάτων και λέξεων, των οποίων αναζητά την ετυμολογία, ο Σωκράτης διαπιστώνει στη συνέχεια ότι μπορούμε να φτάσουμε στα πρωταρχικά ονόματα, τα οποία δεν μπορούν να αναχθούν σε άλλα. Για να εξηγήσουμε το τρόπο δόμησης αυτών των ονομάτων πρέπει να ακολουθήσουμε έναν άλλο δρόμο. Το βασικό στοιχείο εδώ είναι η όσο το δυνατόν πληρέστερη απομίμηση ή αναπαράσταση ενός πράγματος με κατάλληλα γράμματα και συλλαβές που να αποδίδουν τις βασικές του ιδιότητες. Για την επιλογή των κατάλληλων φωνηέντων ή
συμφώνων ακολουθούνται ορισμένοι κανόνες και ο Σωκράτης παραθέτει ορισμένα παραδείγματα: Το γράμμα ρ χρησιμοποιείται συνήθως για να εκφράζει τη κίνηση, όπως για παράδειγμα στις λέξεις ρέω, ροή, ορμή, τρόμος, θραύω, κρούω, τραχύς κ.λ.π. Αυτό συμβαίνει γιατί ο ονοματουργός παρατήρησε ότι κατά την εκφώνηση αυτού του γράμματος η γλώσσα «σταματάει ελάχιστα και κινείται υπερβολικά». Από την άλλη μεριά μεταχειρίστηκε το ι για κάθε τι που είναι ελαφρό και μπορεί να διαπερνά τα άλλα πράγματα όπως π.χ. στις λέξεις ιέναι και ίεσθαι (ρίπτομαι). Τα φυσητικά τώρα γράμματα φ, ψ, σ και ζ απομιμούνται το φύσημα, όπως στις λέξεις ψυχρό, ζεστό και σεισμός. Το δ τώρα και το τ, επειδή προφέρονται με συμπίεση της γλώσσας, ο ονοματοθέτης τα χρησιμοποίησε για να απομιμηθεί τη στάση και το δεσμό. Επειδή επίσης η γλώσσα γλυστράει υπερβολικά κατά τη προφορά του λ, το χρησιμοποίησε κατά παρομοίωση στις λέξεις λείος, ολισθαίνω (γλυστρώ), λιπαρός και κολλώδης και σε όλα τα ανάλογα πράγματα. Κι επειδή το γ συγκρατεί αυτό το γλύστρημα της γλώσσας, το χρησιμοποίησε για να μιμηθεί το γλίσχρον, το γλυκύ και το γλοιώδες. Παρατηρώντας ακόμα την εσωτερική ιδιότητα της προφοράς του ν, το χρησιμοποίησε στο ένδον και στο εντός, για να απομιμηθεί με γράμματα αυτή την εσωτερικότητα. Ανάλογα έθεσε το α στη λέξη μέγας και το η στο μήκος, γιατί αυτά τα γράμματα είναι μακρά. Τέλος χρησιμοποίησε το ο για να δηλώσει τη στρογγυλότητα, όπως στη λέξη γογγύλον (ολοστρόγγυλο).
