The always anticipated Leanne Marshall debuted her Autumn / Winter 2021 Bridal collection this week and brought romantic elegance with a hint of edge. Leanne Marshall stunned on social media with a preview of some of the pieces on Tuesday October 6th, but the full collection consisted of gowns, separates, capes, sleeved and sleeveless gowns. Standout pieces included 2 hand dyed gowns with hues of purple, blue, vibrant orange, blush, and of course traditional whites. When speaking about her AW2021 collection on Instagram Leanne said “(To be honest), I didn’t think I wanted to do (a collection this season) with all
that’s going on this year. I didn’t feel inspired. Eventually, I kicked my (butt) into gear to create just a “few” new things. And then those few gave birth to more ideas and it felt good to create. And then I ended up with a rather full new collection, and I’m quite pleased that I pushed through and did it despite hesitation.” This vibrant and beautiful collection came during a time when some have found it difficult to find inspiration, creativity and beauty in the world. Tell us a little bit about your story and brand. From my early age I was dreaming of designing my own clothes, so growing up it wasn’t difficult to decide what I want to do for the rest of my life. I decided to start my own brand a year ago with the name Min & Max. I wanted women to walk in the streets with my own clothes. I always address my collection to dynamic and busy women. Women on the go, who want to be elegant and stylish form morning till night.
What do you think about attending shows and how was your experience at the last years Athens Xclusive Designers Week? I think that shows give an opportunity to designers to share their inspiration and ideas. It was the second time that I took part at the Athens Xclusive Designers Week. But after the award, I won last year I can safely say that it is an important opportunity for designers. Not only to preview and show your brand but also for self-improvement. Do you offer tailor made bridal gowns for a bride that would like to have an exclusive designer wedding dress? Surely as a designer I would want to show my imagination. To combine it with the ideal fabrics, to make the wedding dress that every woman dreams especially for her. What is your vision for the Greek bride this season? I can say for sure that every bride chooses the bridal dress that matches and expresses her style. For this year I would suggest minimal lines to be overlapped and to experiment with new materials. We can combine her style and experiment with new and different fabrics to create a particular bridal dress, which is unique to our bride. What do you think the guests could wear on a wedding reception? Should the guests try to look stylish and unique in tailor made creations? I think that wedding guests should wear the outfit that they feel comfortable in. In my opinion, there is no specific rule for the “right� outfit, the most successful outfits are those with the aesthetic and the imagination.

By the time you are reading this, the restrictions have probably been lifted and things might be normalizing. However, no one knows what the future holds, but in this article we give you some glam inspirations to plan for your wedding for all the #coronabrides! You still have to keep in mind that the virus will most probably be among us for some time. Maybe even some years. We are of course all hoping for the cure, but in the meantime, keep in mind to
prevent the spreading on daily basis and within your event! Let’s follow the rules to contain and minimize the number of transmissions and maybe even help eliminate the virus this way. Some weddings have already happened in the year of 2020. Some were small, others big and some were safe others less so. CONSIDER TO SPACE OUT
PREPARE YOUR VENUE
If you have ever eaten at the Greek taverna, you probably noticed the tightly squeezed table seating. Well this is now changing! Consider having more space between the seats at your event and especially the seated dinner. Space your guests further apart during the dinner and the ceremony as well! Consider the 2 meter rule. Yes, your wedding look will be more airy than usual, but health and safety are priority at a time of Covid-19! So, have fun with it and work with your planner to incorporate it in your design!
Ask your venue about additional sanitary, health and safety requirements. Discuss about additional hand washing or sanitising stations around the venue and near the entrances. Ask about the cleaning schedule of the venue and try to negotiate additional cleaning options such as disinfecting the door handles, faucets, bar or any other surfaces. This will help you ease your worry and give some reassurance to your guests.
Consider putting family members who are close, and close friends together. Think of the smaller tables, rather than big ones.
RE-THINK YOUR MEAL AND FOOD STATIONS Work with your catering and opt for plated meals instead of buffet. Avoid sharing platters and avoid common dishes to minimise possible contamination. All other snacks or consumables should be sealed under hygienic conditions. Rethink your desert tables and food stations where many people take their own food. Consider wrapped candy or offer sweets in the sealed jars.
INTRODUCE SANITIZING STATIONS Start the hygiene trend and add hand sanitisers where ever you can at your wedding, after the restrictions are lifted. Consider the designated and decorated or fun hand sanitising stations around the venue. Don’t stop there, go crazy! In the baskets near the toilets, sports around the venue and maybe even on the tables. Decorate them in the style of your wedding and add fun catchy phrases!
HAVE MOST OF THE WEDDING OUTDOORS Greece is actually the perfect country for this! Many destination weddings here are already happening outdoors anyways. And now, with the low number of cases, hot summers and gorgeous seaside venues, Greece has everything you need for your destination wedding. One good preventative technique against the spreading of Covid-19 is not to have many people in closed spaces. That is why most countries acted on postponing events and have limited the number of people allowed in the supermarkets at once. So apply this rule to your wedding to event as well!
THINK OF ELOPING Think of a smaller wedding or even an elopement. Never before was it easier to elope without any drama, if this is what you always wanted! Everyone will understand you are worried for their safety. This is the time to reduce the guest list for your destination wedding if you wanted to have a smaller wedding and didn’t know how to tell your guests. Especially, in case you have elderly people flying over, it is best to have a separate party at home for all who are at greater risk. Anthony, how come you decided to incorporate Live Streaming for your couple’s weddings? As we all know, at the moment the way weddings are being held is changing. Although we all hope this situation will be temporary. However, live streaming at a wedding is nothing new. As I want to provide only the best service to my couples, I’ve been using Live Streaming for the past few years now. Especially for couples that decide to elope and want to provide the opportunity to their close family and friends to live the moment remotely. On top of that, many couples request live streaming, on the occasion where a close family member is not able to travel to attend their wedding. The coronavirus situation has affected our lives and consequently weddings or events as well. I believe that in 2020 the destination weddings tend to be smaller with a small number of guests. So, live streaming is becoming one of my most popular services of my wedding cinematography packages. When I offer the live streaming services to my couples, they do not miss the opportunity to take it. Why not be able to virtually have all your guests together and enjoy the day together with you? So true! It is amazing to hear that you are well prepared and had lots of practice from even before the crisis! Can you tell us a bit more in details and without being too technical, how does this work? The first step is to ask for this particular service, the rest is up to the cinematography team. There’s a lot that goes into live streaming at your wedding, because of the special equipment and the certain conditions that need to be met for the best possible outcome. The cinematography team should organize everything needed, so you don’t have to worry. Especially the coordination of the live streaming event with your
wedding planner and the venue. Leave everything to the professionals and simply enjoy your day. Your “remote” guests will be able to see and hear you get married from anywhere in the world! Our cinematography and drone professionals are responsible to shoot your wedding. We also work closely with our assistant operators, who are responsible for the technical parts such as audio and microphones, to connect to the DJ console and the stream itself. At the end, we can also provide you with the recorded live-stream video which you can watch later, in combination with your wedding film. Wow really? That must be very special for couples to be able to have the recording as well! But, can you tell us what kind of team is required for someone to use live streaming? Should they think of hiring a pro or can they DIY it? Live streaming is not as simple as pressing a button and letting the camera roll. Yes, you could potentially do a simple FaceTime call or even a Facebook live with your friends. However, to achieve a quality live stream video that can match with your big event, you need a professional team with experience and the proper equipment. Let me ask you this. Would you like to be able to show your wedding day through a multi-camera set-up with multiple angles and even a drone? Would you like to have professional audio to stream your vows, the officiant, and even your toasts at your live-stream? If your answer was yes, then I suggest assigning a proper professional team to set it up and ensure that all runs smoothly. Your wedding cinematography team usually consists of two or more cinematographers and a drone operator. Besides that, two more assistant operators are required, to ensure that everything runs smoothly, from the set-up of the cameras, audio, and the live feed.

Absolutely! I guess it all depends on the type of wedding the couple wants. Also I assume if they have opted for the elopement with the live streaming of their wedding, then they should definitely consider to hire a professional team for the remote guests to enjoy the ceremony! So, what else is required for live streaming and how do the people at home see it? When you choose the live stream service, discuss with your cinematographer which parts of the wedding day are going to be covered. Apart from that, there are a few options on how people will be able to access and see the live stream from home, either on their desktop, mobile, tablet, and even their TV. With our professional equipment and experience, we can live-stream simultaneously to multiple streaming services at no extra cost. The most common and easiest platforms for your remote guests are YouTube and Facebook. We will provide you with private keys and links to distribute to your guests. You just send them an electronic invitation with the date and time, and they will be able to watch your wedding remotely at no cost for them and no setup time. They just use the link, and then they enjoy your wedding in high video and audio quality, from several camera and drone angles together with you. The person in charge of the live stream makes sure when to switch camera angles, which microphone is muted and can even play music or your reception music. He is also in charge of the technical support, in case any of your remote guests have a streaming problem. Oh my goodness! That sounds amazing! Like watching a movie or a live coverage of some event, such as Eurovision for instance! This must be a wonderful experience for the remote guests and the couple, who can enjoy the reruns later on! I assume good WiFi is required for Live Streaming. But what happens if the chosen venue cannot provide good WiFi or if the wedding ceremony is happening on the beach or in nature? Is such technology then still possible? 64
Yes it is! A good Wi-Fi is essential for a quality live-stream. But how about when guests start to arrive at the venue and use the venue’s Wi-Fi? The bandwidth can easily get overloaded, therefore we have a backup 4G service for this reason. Which is sometimes actually faster than the venue’s Wi-Fi. A faster connection of course means more stable and a better quality live streaming for your wedding. Having our own 4G/5G routers means that we can live-stream even to remote locations, during a beach ceremony for example, without having to rely on a local Wi-Fi connection. A few couples ask about 5G. It is coming to Greece, we expect it to be fully functional early-mid 2021, but keep in mind that a good 4G signal is already sufficient for a quality stream! Especially if you have a professional team managing your live streaming event. Make sure they know what they are doing and had some experience before! How many guests can see the live streaming video at their home? When you live-stream your wedding, you can invite as many friends and family you want, from anywhere in the world. This is also without any additional cost to you or them. This is a way to expand your guest list. This is also a way to bring your wedding to your dearest relatives or friends who cannot join you at your destination wedding for any reason! And not only in these difficult times. We simply love what technology can do these days and hope to always be able to offer the latest and best quality to all our couples. Yes, that is so true! Many relatives or friends cannot attend weddings or destination weddings for different reasons, such as pregnancy, health condition or other personal reasons. As we mentioned before, you provide specialized services for your guests with the 24 hour VIP support? Can you tell us more about your business and how did you get this idea? So nice of you to ask, well I am half Greek and half Dutch. I was born and raised in The Netherlands, but ever since I was a small child I wanted to move to Lefkada. My father is from Lefkada so we visited a lot on holiday and I was always very sad to leave each time. Holland is a great place to grow up but I always felt something was missing, so two years ago I decided to live my dream and I said to my children, “if we do not do it now we will never do it!� Living here I started to learn more about the island, the beautiful places and the large history of it and I felt proud to be half Greek and finding out all those things. I thought I have to do something with this, and with this enthusiasm I started arranging guided tours. So the idea grew to start sourcing beautiful villas to rent but to offer more exclusivity. I am also able to assist clients of local wedding planners such as Lefkas Weddings, if their guests are looking for locations. You focus mainly on Lefkada and the Ionian Islands right? What was the most fun and unusual trip or project you have had the opportunity to arrange for your guests? Can you tell us the story? I had guests from Israel, who wanted to see more of the island on a private tour but all the interests of the group varied a lot. Some liked history and some just wanted to sunbathe! I decided the best idea was to start the tour with a breakfast overlooking the sea and I made a suggestion of a route that would please everyone in the group. We visited Agia Mavra Castle and Faneromeni Monastery for some culture and photographs and then headed to the waterfalls and some beaches to relax and have fun. At the end of the day they were so happy with all the culture and history they had seen. I like to see that people who have actually seen the whole world, and can experience few fascinating things here in Greece. I enjoyed sharing my knowledge with then because I also tell everything from my heart.

Wow that’s a great story and what a fun vacation to have! What services can you provide for destination couples coming to Greece for their wedding? My job is to find the best accommodation for my clients. X-LH stands for exclusivity, so I want to make it as comfortable as possible for the bride and groom and their guests. If we have clients in a villa, I can arrange extra services such as a private chef for the whole stay or a small wedding dinner. What is the one thing that drives you in your line of work and where do you find inspiration for your business? I have a great love for the island of Lefkada! So I would say that is one reason. And the other must be my enthusiasm when I’m talking to my clients to ensure them that they will have a great holiday. I do this work from the heart, and I am available throughout their stay if they need anything. But the best reward is when clients tell me afterwards that they were happy with my services. Greece is becoming the top destination in the world and the Ionian Islands have a special charm. Which one of these Islands, would you recommend to destination couples coming to Greece and why? Lefkada, Corfu (Kerkira), Paxi, Ithaka, Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Kythira those are the seven Ionian Islands. For me Lefkada, Ithaka and Corfu have special memories, so in my heart, those are the most beautiful islands, the ones where I spent all my holidays as a child. Ithaka because my grandfather used to live there and owned a shoe store there. My aunt lives in Corfu and as a child I went there every year without my parents and had the best times ever! Lefkada because my grandmother used to live here and it’s such a beautiful island with lots of olive trees and paradise beaches; that you can only find here in Lefkada!

Choosing a location for a destination wedding is one of the hardest tasks for some couples. What would you recommend to those couples to do in order to make the best decision? I think there are two ways they can make a choice of the best location for them. First is to choose a location where they have a connection. It could be a family one, like mine with Lefkada or a place they have had a memorable holiday together. Second is to make a practical decision choice with their guests comfort in mind. So a location with plenty of flight options, facilities for children, variety of accommodation types etc. There truly are so many different places and things to do in Greece and it is important to have someone like you advising and helping tourists with their trip. So tell us, what is the most important part of your job? The most important part for me is making sure my clients have a great holiday experience. To do this I listen and discover what makes a holiday good for them personally and the offer ideas based on this. A short chat with me on email or phone can save them hours of searching online for the perfect villa and they’ll know they are in the best location on the island for them. Things can also go sideways fast! What is your secret to stay calm for when and if something goes wrong? In situations like these, you always have to stay calm and try to solve the problem as quickly as possible. First I reassure clients and show that I am there for them and that they are absolutely not alone. I think it is important if you are in a foreign country, and something happens that someone is always there for you. I once faced a situation in Turkey and I was alone, and that was incredibly difficult, so I would not want this to happen to my clients. That is why in emergency situations I am always reachable 24 hours a day.

Did you get married in Greece? Can you tell us your story and your experience? What advice would you give to every couple wanting to get married in Greece? My husband was Dutch so we married in a Greek church in Holland but immediately after the wedding the first thing we did was hop on a plane to Lefkada to stay 3 weeks on honeymoon! My advice for a destination bride would be to slow down! When I first moved from Holland I was running trying to do everything with papers and arrangements at a fast pace but it wasn’t happening and my Godmother said relax, this is Greece, it will happen but relax! So be patient, find good contacts like myself at X-LH.com to source accommodation for you so you don’t have to get stressed arranging this for your guests. A wedding planner is also useful, they speak the local language and have many contacts that will make the planning journey easier for you. Do you have a favorite place in Greece? Can you tell us which one and why? Yes Lefkada only! I travelled last year to a couple of different places in Greece and after two days being away from Lefkada I was home sick. So this is my paradise, I do not want to be anywhere else in the world! And for the last question, what advice would you give to all travelers who want to visit Ionian Islands? What should they see or do no matter what? I would advise them to charter a yacht or sailboat to sail the Ionian Islands for a week and then stay for a second week in a beautiful villa in Lefkada. A day charter is also very nice for people, cruising around Lefkada by yacht or sailboat and seeing the beautiful beaches you cannot reach by car. Only reachable by Ferry, Sifnos is still preserving the old Island lifestyle. Their sixty-nine wedding guests arrived from all over Europe and the United States, one day before the big ceremony. Welcome Drinks were served in the capital Apollonia. Local food, drinks and music brought both wedding couples parties together while enjoying the local traditions and delicacies.
The unforgettable and very personal ceremony was held on a cliff in Kastro village, overseeing the Seven Martyrs Church and the ocean. The officiators Lara Gregl and Reed Perkins, the couple’s best friends, prepared an interactive ceremony in three different languages: English, German and Polish. This was the very first wedding held on the particular cliff and so it attracted the locals and tourists to celebrate with the couple.

After the ceremony, the busses took the wedding guest to their wedding venue Lazarou Beach in the village of Platis Gialos. On a plateau over the ocean, dinner was served with Greek Specialties. The couple insisted on a local cuisine and dĂŠcor for the tables from around the area in Greece. The wedding planner Bobbie made sure to keep the decoration simple, modern and in touch with the surroundings of the island. The long white tables were arranged in the family style around the edges of the platform above the sea.
Despite being a summer wedding, the day was windy throughout the day, as is to be expected on the Cycladic islands. The little wind, however, did not stop this wedding party from having fun. And really enjoying these special moments when everyone got to know each other better and dance the night away. The day ended with few brave guests and the couple swimming in the Aegean Sea until the first rays of sun. The next day, the couple organized a Sunday brunch at their favourite local restaurant NUS in Platis Gialos. 87

The bride, Katharina was wearing a dress especially handmade for this occasion by Paolo Corona Couture Designer from Paris. Inspired by Grecian culture, the dress was a two-part piece, where Kat removed the first part for the reception. The ceremony gown nestles with clean lines around the body and accentuates the waist with parts of the fabric flying lose, to portray a tribute to the ancient Greeks. Very chic Hellenic and Goddess-like.
The second part of the dress has a long slit along the legs with a tight waist. A thin shawl wraps around the open back and neck. To be on brand with this wedding’s ecoconscious values, this unique dress was made out of reused fabrics. Taking it a step further, their wedding rings were custom made of recycled silver and Katharina’s ring is recycled silver with a morganite stone.

The couple were joined by close friends and family in a celebration that lasted a full weekend. Lynsey and her bridal party gang started preparations around midday with gift exchanging, some tequila sampling and a lot of laughs! Oh, and some posing on the terracing! Gary and his boys turned up a little after to get all kilted up and ready to brave the Greek heat in tartan. I’ve been there myself, it’s tough!! The ceremony was a very intimate affair with family and friends looking on as they witnessed their favorite couple against the deep blue Santorini sky. Santorini can be an extremely busy place, even in off-season months, so I was keen to get the couple away for some portraits as quickly as I could. Lynsey and Gary were absolutely brilliant stars climb up walls. Well sometimes it takes a bit of work even from the bride and groom to get the great shots. Gary and Lynsey have always had a love for Santorini and it becomes clear when you talk to them that they adore the place. As an Edinburgh based destination wedding photographer, I was absolutely over the moon to receive the enquiry to shoot Lynsey and Gary’s wedding. Santorini is an island that I also know very well, having been married here to my Greek wife in 2010. No matter how many times you visit the place, it always takes your breath away. If you’ve never been, promise me you’ll make it happen at least once in your life!
After the reception dinner, it was time to party! A bunch of fun Scottish people in Santorini. Let’s just say it was a blast beyond belief! Plate smashing, dancing and a whole lot of love. My wedding day combined the glamorous North American style with traditional Greek accents, which turned my dream into reality. My parents walked me down Archontiko, the village’s main unpaved road in my Christian Louboutin heels, while accompanied by local musicians playing traditional Greek wedding tunes, to meet my husband waiting outside the church. I had my best friends by my side as bridesmaids in blush pink dresses; charger plates; and gold chivalry chairs by the beautiful scenery of a shipwrecked ship on Gytheio’s beach. The traditional koufeta table stood beside the bubbly bar. The local Greek band played Greek folk music while we danced under fireworks and bright stars until the morning hours.
As a Greek Canadian, I decided to get married in my ancestral home, Gytheio, a beautiful town on the eastern shore of the Mani Peninsula in the Peloponnese, and the place where my grandparents were born and where my parents met. On August 17, 2019 over 200 guests travelled from Canada to share my happiness and see my union.
It never rains in Gytheio during August. Unexpectedly, it rained on my wedding day while we were enjoying dinner. We all run under the porch laughing while I was nervous. I could not believe it was happening. But in Mani we have a saying that if it rains on your wedding day, it means that the bride has the upper hand. And the rain passed, and we danced, and hugged, and loved every moment of it.

The ceremony of tying the knot was absolutely astonishing! We felt like we were in a movie! In the joyful yet intimate atmosphere set by our charismatic couple, the officiant pronounced them husband and wife. As the newlyweds strolled under the rain of petals confetti into the new chapter of their lives, everyone was invited to enjoy the cocktail hour with organic local snacks and sparkling wine. After sharing a toast with their guests, the bride and groom slipped away for a session with their photographer in the private setting of the olive groves. Children entertainers, ensured both the newlyweds and their guests were relaxed and enjoyed every moment of this day!
When Clare shared with us the images of her bridal dress, our team got beyond inspired, building the concept of this civil wedding in Crete around its folky motives and bright colours. The decoration details all came together in a fascinating gamma: bridal bouquet of exotic flowers, eucalyptus garlands, and the bougainvillea “arch” – stunning floral arrangement around the church entrance. In the toneddown atmosphere of the rustic wedding venue, these colours looked tasteful and festive.
With groom being behind the scenes of big events back in the UK and working with lights engineering, a great emphasis was given to the lights installation of their Big Day. Festoon lights across the terrace and neon effects in the courtyard of the venue gave the space a special ambient glow.

BOHEME ELOPEMENT

This elopement editorial was inspired by the history of the castle town of Monemvasia in Greece. A modern bohemian aesthetic heavily referencing the Byzantine period. Monemvasia is a small historic town in the eastern Peloponnese. Its name is a compound word, derived from the two Greek words Moni and Emvasis and it was built on a limestone rock on the southeastern coast. From stylist Adelaide Design: A custom lace gown with a dramatic pearl veil was created for the shoot and paired with a delicate bouquet by Da Fiori Design. To build on the luxuriance of the lace and pearls in the gown, the elements of ivory, silver and velvet became central to the rest of the design of the editorial.
The colour palette of the floral design and tables cape referenced a pale Venetian pink, from another building from that time period in Monemvasia. The pale pink was complemented with taupe, dusty lilac and grey to be consistent with the overall aesthetic of the shoot which was to be opulent and refined, aged and muted all at once. The floral centrepiece on the tables cape was oversized and dramatic. The tables cape sourced antique silverware and mix and matched Venetian style glassware and Italian wood charger plates with velvet napkins and gorgeous love letters on each elopement table setting. The stationery suite by Curved and Co. featured a hand drawn depiction of the town of Monemvasia and was done on handmade paper, hand lettered with brown ink. The people we choose to love and create memories with, do not understand borders, forms and social conventions. Love is love. Fondo Special Occasions underlines how the choices and manifestations of love can be elegant, beautiful and memorable. This editorial photoshoot takes inspiration from the love story of two historic women, Virginia Woolf and her lover Vita Sackville-West. The whole set up and art direction, has a vintage feeling, a ghostlike aesthetic, it’s an ode to the romantic past with a modern twist. The beautiful building, constructed in 1919, is the best backdrop for an exceptionally realized love and marriage story. The neutral color pallets, with shades of beige, off whites and greys, accentuate the down to earth, simple yet elegant aesthetics of the event. True to the spirit of this historic love story, the invitations use the lunaria flower on weathered paper, a reference to the love letters the two women sent to each other for years, to create a romantic, almost ritualistic tone for all the wedding guests.
Natural materials like ceramic vases and plates set the table, with linen cloths, crystal glasses and pure white candles complimenting and completing the whole concept and mindset of everything elegant, beautiful and naturalistic. Beautiful branches, a reference to the “still life” artform, the shocking white lunaria flower and the majestic pampas grass, compose the flower arrangements that decorate the eventful evening. Lunaria and the scene-stealing berenklauw, an oversized dandelion, were chosen for the bridal bouquets. The two beautiful brides wear flowing ethereal chiffon and silk gowns that show the natural curves of the appealing female physique, highlighting the charming and seductive nature of women, which is celebrated in this specific wedding. The beaches of the island are huge and one, Prasonisi, is particularly popular among the wind surfers. Rhodes can offer diving and surfing for the adventures. Sandy and pebbly beached are most popular among the big all-inclusive five and four star hotels. So, if you are looking for a package deal, this could be the best thing you can do for a stress free honeymoon or vacation!

Nonetheless, life path led me to work in the wedding industry. So while working as an event professional, I found one hard truth. Wedding professionals love what they do. Be it a florist, caterer, stationer or a wedding planner. However, most were unfamiliar with marketing and PR strategies that can reach new audiences. As the leading wedding PR educator in North America, I’m on the road a lot as I take the stage at national conferences, local association groups, and other industry engagements. My team steers the ship while I’m on the go, managing client needs and media inquiries like second nature. Together, we are committed to elevating our clients through high-profile press features, top-tier speaking engagements, and a strategic approach to setting and achieving marketing goals. CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR BRAND AND WHAT DOES A PUBLICIST DO? In spring 2009, OFD Consulting opened its doors to the industry and, since then, we have grown into a small but mighty team of wedding-obsessed publicists. A day in the life of a wedding publicist is ever-changing, but you can typically find us discussing strategy with our clients, securing press features in digital and print publications, coordinating feature interviews for podcasts, and pitching our clients for national and local speaking engagements. We are helping all types of wedding professionals to get featured and get seen. WHAT TREND DO YOU SEE PICKING UP IN THE WORLD OF WEDDINGS? As a contributor to International Wedding Trend Report, we are always looking for the new thing in the wedding industry. I genuinely think that we are going to see many trends carry over into the next year. Because many of the couples had to postpone their weddings to the next year. This year was difficult for all, however I do believe it contributed to the rise of technology at weddings. I see continued dependence on technology, in the way we never thought before. I believe there will be more technology used at weddings in the next few years as new generations are more dependent on tech we never saw before. Therefore vendors will have to level up! From virtual reality, to online meetings, I am really looking forward to seeing this. TELL US A BIT MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON? Well I believe that PR is a big part of luxury weddings and events. Getting the word out in a positive light can help vendors, or my clients grow as they become established in that wedding market. I combine my event experience with a love of wedding PR to empower all my clients to take their businesses to new heights. I represent clients globally, who have got the coverage with local and international media, such as the New York Times, Entrepreneur, Brides, Bridal Guide, the Knot, Martha Stewart Weddings, the Travel Channel, HGTV, Brit & Co and Refinery 29, among others. Amongst my speaking appearances, I also love to teach. Therefore, I am an adjunct professor in the Mass Communication department at Virginia Commonwealth University, specializing in Public Relations. Recently we launched the OFD Collective, the first membership site in the wedding industry which helps our members maximize their press exposure. This gives wedding professionals easy access to the media and exclusive press opportunities. We saw a need for a wedding PR solution that was cost-effective and user-friendly for small businesses that wanted to reach couples through B2C press and real wedding features. Thus, OFD Collective was launched for small businesses who are ready to take their own PR dive with the guidance of a publicist. Another project we are currently working on, is to help couples publish their wedding. Sadly we are now living in the times of Coronavirus pandemic, which means many weddings had to be postponed or cancelled. And this automatically affects the publishing world, as there will be less submissions to be featured on the wedding blogs and media. We are always looking for unique ideas, we focus on the theme, trend factors and the overall look. To be nominated for the award, the wedding or a stayled shoot has stand hout. We are paying attention at the style and the quality of photography, as well as: - The design - New, inspirational ideas - Different, unique elements - The location – in Greece - Magazine worthiness - The story behind the shoot or wedding - And to be current or up to date The final decision is then down to personal and expert opinion. To stay fair and unbiased, we exclude our Ellwed Cover Shoots from this award. The winning wedding is announced in the last issue of Ellwed.
BEST REAL WEDDING OF 2020 Going back to what really matters. LOVE. In the spirit of post pandemic events, for the Best Wedding in Greece we chose this beautiful, minimal and true love story from Mykonos, which ticked all the boxes! Although, there was some tough competition from our previous issue, we could not look past this super fashionable and cool couple, where the bride made her own wedding dress! BEST WEDDING INSPIRATION OF 2020 This one was difficult to choose from since we had so many beautiful submissions of extremely talented Greek and International vendors from all over the world. It was a very close call between several amazing inspirations. This Boheme Elopement Wedding inspiration ticked all boxes and more. What truly made this the winner of our Ellwed awards is the simple elegance and creative incorporation of the ancient Greek Medieval fort city into the story. We want to thank Nikos Makrakos for capturing and submitting this Inspirational Shoot to Ellwed. On page 111, in this issue.
