Liv and Skye have been best friends since pre-school. At sixteen, they are trying to make the leap from “Hello Kitty” to lace thong underwear. Skye is incredibly talented and beautiful and into everything she can find in her Mom’s medicine cabinet. Her parents don’t seem to care what she does. Her mother is an ex-model who parties all the time and her dad still travels with his punk-rock band, leaving Skye to look after her two little sisters – when she’s not hanging around with her homeless junkie boyfriend. Liv’s parents are feeling their way through a recent divorce, but everyone seems to be OK with it. Then one day, all Liv has left is Skye’s journal – her thoughts, frustrations, hopes and fears, her colorful drawings – and a lot of anger. She decides to join her mom – an award-winning documentary filmmaker – on a trek across The Himalaya as she films the charity work of a Tibetan monk. It is a long and harrowing journey for Liv who takes Skye’s journal with her to read when no one else is around. Liv has so many questions. Will Skye’s journal give her the answers she needs to be able to let go? (watch promotional video) Veteran actress Diane Sherry Case (whose favorite role was Lana Lang in Superman, The Movie) is now a writer and filmmaker living in Santa Monica, California. Her short stories have been widely published and her first novel “Elephant Milk” won a best novel award in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards and has been adapted for screen. As an alumni of the American Film Institute’s Directors Workshop for Women, she wrote and directed two short films, “Spa-tel” and “Valentine’s Day,” and more recently the 2016 television series “House Poor.” She also teaches a therapeutic writing program that she developed.

Hail to the Chiefs by Stephen James Poppoon
“American Graffiti” meets “Victory” ... Hail to the Chiefs is funny, nostalgic... gut wrenching... best of all, it’s a wellwritten and very entertaining read.” – amazon reader review The year is 1969, long before soccer has become popular in the United States... Five players from a powerhouse high school soccer program enroll at Bainbridge University, where football is everything and soccer has only just become a varsity sport. Bainbridge has only won two games in the past year and their new coach has never even played the game... Juggling their personal lives and relationships around academic courses and a demanding schedule of practice and games is tough enough - but life is about to become challenging for these college freshmen...

This new novel picks up at the same frenetic pace established in “Dark Angel,” the first book in the series, as a startling discovery plunges the reader headlong into a new adventure. The Nephilim “triplets,” Hades, Poseidon and Zeus, have become seemingly unstoppable in their bid to overthrow the powers that be with their tyrannical expansionism and horrific biological experiments. Temptation and lust, power and greed – all come into play as the shifting relationships between the characters soar to the highest highs and then plummet into despair. Amazing escapes and magnificent battles are waged between the amber-casting forces of Adam, Enoch and Angela versus Cain with his allies the Dark Lords. A full cast of giants, saber-tooths, battle-unicorns, golems and prehistoric beasts – creatures the like of which have never before been seen – all contribute to the action-packed battle scenes that the reader has become accustomed to in Palatin’s unique story-telling.

The darkest and most mysterious times in the history of the world are brought to breathtaking life in this action-packed, epic fantasy, set in the time before the great flood. Magnificent and powerful beasts roamed the earth and the seas, along with giants, fallen angels and their offspring. Myth, legend and theology intertwine in a tale of love, betrayal, redemption as good and evil struggle in the quest for eternal life. In this first adventure of the Trilogy, the reader is transported to a majestic civilization built by Adam, the first man, Cain, his son and antagonist – and their deadly foes, the Dark Lords, led by a powerful ruler, Lucifer. A story as old as time itself, Dark Angel is a fast paced novel about the struggle between good and evil that combines spellbinding adventure like Lord of the Rings with the creatures from Jurassic Park and features the characters from the Old Testament.

AND THEN THEY RUINED EVERYTHING Book 2 in The Death of Rock’n’Roll series by Duncan Milne
This is a story about time travel. This is a story about rock ’n’ roll. This is a story about life and art. Literature is like life, music, art or time travel – it doesn’t really matter where you start, just so long as you do. Welcome. Two friends have discovered a means of traveling through time utilizing the video game Guitar Hero, coupled with a mixing table affectionately called Louie Louie, a reference to the Kingsmen classic and Satan, the latter to whom DJs have often been compared. Starting as a lark to attend gigs throughout time and space, the device allows the friends to enjoy a richer rock ’n’ roll experience. However, before long they discover that certain situations need a nudge to return to the correct path. Sometimes more than a nudge is required... Although typically painfully awkward around women, both the boys find themselves infatuated by different women at the end of the first novel. The real trouble begins there, which is where the story resumes.

Pilot of Fortune by Ted Beaudoin
From barnstormer to bush flyer to airline pilot, wartime ferry pilot and airborne firefighter, no job was too big, too small or too hazardous for William Floyd Sheldon Luck. He ferried Gold Rush miners to distant claims in the Yukon, then carried hookers to visit the miners, often in outrageous weather conditions and to locations so remote that they have never been mapped or even named. He delivered unarmed aircraft across the Atlantic in World War II and carried top secret messages across occupied France for Winston Churchill. He blazed a trail of routes over Northwest Canada and later helped establish a chain of early warning radar stations across the Arctic Circle. He walked away from several crashes but throughout his adventures – and misadventures – good luck never ran out for this “Pilot of Fortune.” Pilot of Fortune is poignant, exciting and often hilarious – a mustread for anyone with an interest in aviation history and a fondness for its larger-than-life heroes.

California Condors A Day at Pinnacles National Park by Shirlaine and Bob Baldwin The California Condor is the largest North American land bird. Pinnacles National Park in Central California is the only National Park Service unit serving as a release site for California Condors hatched in captivity. Still critically endangered, the Park population today stands at around 70 Condors. Authors Shirlaine and Bob Baldwin were treated to a rare and magnificent display by several birds which they were able to capture in the glorious photographs featured in this book. 8.5” x 8.5” 100 pp. Full colour throughout.

Epilepsy: A Woman’s Point of View by Shelley Kobelsky
Epilepsy: A Woman’s Point of View
A must read for anyone who has suffered – or knows anyone who suffers – from epilepsy and its stigmas, especially as they relate to women. The author offers a unique perspective, not just as a lifelong sufferer of the disease since she was two years old, but also from the additional challenges of being a woman. The author’s motive is to be honest about her own struggles with epilepsy in order to help others face the challenges of the disease with hope and faith. It is an open discussion; a truly unfiltered story which covers the terrain and scope of living with epilepsy on a daily basis from a woman’s point of view.

Chuff Chuff the engine is as old and outdated as his engineer Mike, but when an engine is needed for a daring rescue mission and not one of the modern diesels is willing to risk its shiny new paint, brave Chuff Chuff volunteers... This is the kind of book we all loved as children. Now, thanks to the classic style of J.T. Chapin and delightful illustrations by Clyde Peterson (better known as C.P. Houston, cartoonist for the Houston Chronicle for over 20 years) we can share it with our children and grandchildren. The story behind the story is every bit as magical as Chuff Chuff himself. In the words of the author... “On March 29, 1968 Laura Katherine Chapin, my daughter, turned three years old. I was a young writer not long out of college, working the trade as a hired hand and short on cash. So, for her birthday I wrote for her a book. The illustrations were done by a young artist, Clyde Peterson, who had joined the Houston Chronicle as their editorial cartoonist. He did that for 41 years, under the pen name CP Houston. I met Clyde through a friend and former co-worker at Houston Lighting & Power Co. who left also for the Chronicle. She gave Clyde a copy of the manuscript, and he did the rest. His illustrations are priceless. The book was never sold. Never published. I put the manuscript away and let it lie still. Until now.”
