1. DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

4

Nothing makes me happier than knowing I have helped to create a space where you can relax, be yourself and enjoy your surroundings. Coming home to a personalized space after a hard days of work is revitalizing. As An interior designer, my goal is to collaborate with my client to design a space that reflects their tastes. Projects that involves feelings, a reflection of what you want to say and how you live your life, are usually successful.

3. THE KAIYŌ RESTAURANT

16

Located in a cruise ship, The Kaiyō Restaurant aims to serve family oriented customers. The arrangement is designed with flexibility to serve groups of 2, 4, and 6,8,10 to even up to 20. The tables along the east wall can simply be combined to serve a large group or divided to serve couples and small families. The concept comes from the organic elements appreciated by the Japanese culture. The Japanese, known for being simple yet classy, was the inspiration in meticulously selecting the design elements that were key to achieving this inviting and relaxing modern look. Elegant yet simple wall panels cover the main walls in the dining room, providing smooth organic texture to act as backdrop to the quiet surrounding. This wavy wooden wall pattern on the feature also brings you closer to nature. It is subtly remindful of the ocean where the fresh seafood is from. When light hits the wall, it produces an interesting ripple that is very calming to look at. Also, the columns add geometric features and interests to the space. The neutral color scheme is perfect for the whole look – soothing to the eye and sophisticated enough to serve young couples and their family.

3. THE PRADO BOUTIQUE

26

The store which is presented here is located Gastown area in Vancouver. It is a concept for a ready-to-wear fashion store that is highly contemporary and urban, borrowing from luxury fashion while remaining inexpensive. I wanted the result to be essential and eye-catching, with strong and unique visual elements: such as lighting fixtures, textured black volumes in the cashier, and concrete flooring. The solid oak herringbone flooring adds an extra touch of charm and warmth to the concept. It can also be found on the cash desk and on the tables intended for the display of the pants and shirts.
