Generations of Elon students have learned through immersive experiences and put that knowledge into action to improve the world. Elon enrolls smart students with good hearts. They arrive on campus motivated to make the most of their four years and upon graduation have formed relationships with faculty, staff and peers that stimulate their mind and lead to professional success. Elon’s curriculum is grounded in the liberal arts and sciences and emphasizes experiential learning through the university’s signature program, The Elon Experiences. Each of the five experiences connects your education to the real world by putting knowledge into practice.

Now, as she nears graduation, she’s confident her Elon experience has prepared her for the next stage in her life and career. She’s interned at “NBC Nightly News,” traveled to Switzerland to cover an Internet governance conference, researched the portrayal of minority women in advertising and spent much of her out-of-class time with Elon’s Finest, the university’s hip-hop dance group. She is also very active with Elon Local News, the student-produced weekly news show, and has served as anchor, writer, reporter and camera operator. As a junior, Addie spent a semester in Istanbul, Turkey. That semester came to represent how she viewed her entire Elon career. “I tried to take every opportunity to explore, meet new people and do new things. I didn’t say no, and as a result I had a great adventure,” she says.
Brian Williams, anchor and managing editor of “NBC Nightly News,” is national chair of the school’s advisory board.

Impact &Value Elon is known for quality and affordability National rankings are shining the spotlight on Elon’s rare combination of quality and affordability. List after list name Elon a best value private university with outstanding programs. Learn more at elon.edu/rankings.
1 of only 3 private universities in N.C. named “Best Value Colleges” based on academics, cost and financial aid.
What really matters is that an Elon education is affordable for you. The Elon approach to affordability For decades our first financial aid policy has been to keep the cost reasonable – often as much as $10,000 below other private colleges and universities our applicants consider. That in itself makes a big difference in how much you will invest. And this cost difference catches the attention of the national rankings. Our goal is to help you understand all the financial resources that make an Elon education affordable for you.

At Elon, we help you get to the bottom line College is the investment for a lifetime, and at Elon more than 70 percent of our students receive assistance with that investment in the form of financial aid. That’s good news for the bottom line. So, what’s your bottom line for the cost of an Elon education? You must consider all the factors. Here are some of the options:
state and institutional grants, loans and scholarships. The amount of federal and state aid you may receive will be determined from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Institutional financial aid eligibility is based upon additional information collected on the CSS PROFILE. We recommend starting early so that your aid file is submitted and complete by mid-March. That way you will receive notification of your aid eligibility well before the national reply date of May 1.
