ELSA MALTA WRITERS TEAM
The writer’s team ELSA Malta has formed is a great opportunity for fresh students to get into the scene of ongoing legal debates and law reviewing. By joining the helper’s team, the student will obtain skills and extra information that are not available in the lecture room, guided by experts in the field.
ELSA MALTA LAW REVIEW
Through ELSA Malta’s Law review students have the opportunity to have their work published. ELSA Malta’s Law review is of high esteem, referenced even in the local legal scene. This gives the student a great opportunity to mature and grow in their writing, through research and guidance.
ESSAY COMPETITIONS
As of this year ELSA Malta will be holding various essay competitions to give the opportunity to students to improve their writing skills without any pressure. This is a good way of trying research methods and implementing habits such as abiding by a word count and OSCOLA, which will surely come in handy when writing assignments and bigger tasks. Not to mention winning cool prizes as a reward for your contribution and effort.
SEMINARS & CONFERENCES We at ELSA Malta aim to provide students with extensive knowledge which both compliments and goes beyond what is taught at university. Through our interactive events we aim to bring students a better understanding of what the legal profession entails as well as allow students to learn and develop their knowledge in various legal fields which they are interested in.
- Medicolegal - Aviation Law Seminar - Law & Democracy Conference Events such as the Medicolegal conference in collaboration with the Malta Medical Students’ Association give law students the opportunity to experience the practical side of the legal profession as well as allowing for students to develop an idea as to what the profession itself entails.
ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES The office of Academic Activities at ELSA Malta is centered around the education of soft skills considered essential within the legal sphere and is there to answer any questions and clear up any issues students may be facing through events such as: “How To Sessions” - A series of informative events which tackle areas of concern for students, teaching tips and tricks every fresher ought to know; and “From Freshers to Lawyers” - An event catered toward incoming freshers which aims to provide them with advice on how to tackle the law course and beyond.
SOCIAL EVENTS As a student organisation we believe that in order to have the best University experience as possible, one needs both academic opportunities but also fun social events. From Booze Cruise to Frat, freshers' Week and Freshers’ Rave, they are surely not to be missed! THE LAW LIVE-IN - Four years running, ELSA Malta has been organising a law themed live in. During this exciting weekend of activities, students have both academic workshops and parties in order to have the best start to the new University life!
ELSA MALTA GOES TO … - ELSA Malta gives you the chance to travel abroad with your friends, all while making new ones along the trip! • Sightseeing • Meet the locals • Experience the city’s nightlife

INSTITUTIONAL VISITS From Vienna, to Stockholm to the most recent visit to Dublin, ELSA Malta seeks to give students the unique opportunity of expanding their horizons from the institutional framework of Malta. In the space of a week students are taken to different institutions of the chosen city as a different learning experience. However, with day trips and experiencing the night life of the City, the fun is never in short supply.
STEP One of the main areas of the Vice President for Professional Development is STEP. The ‘Student Trainee Exchange Programme’ is a great opportunity for students to travel, learn and work abroad with law firms, public institutions and international organisations.
