Do not go up on your roof if it is windy outside. Make sure that your shoes have a good tread on them as roofs can be very slippery. You can also use the gutter guard to protect your ladder and to help keep it in place. Never go up on your roof if it is raining or if your roof has snow on it. If you'll be doing your roof yourself, use common sense and safety. Do not try to cut corners when it comes to staying safe.
