Google Redirect Virus Fix - How to Remove the Redirect Virus from Your System By James Henry Johnson

The Google Redirect Virus is one of the most common, but most difficult to remove, virus infections that you can get on your system. Not only does this infection cause your computer to annoyingly redirect all the search engine results that you have, but it can also cause more damage to the inner-workings of your computer as well. If you have this virus, and want to remove it from your system for good, you need to be able to use the correct tools & techniques to do it. Unfortunately, the problem with this virus is the way in which it works, which is a lot different than most typical virus infections (making it more difficult to remove). When this virus installs itself on your PC, it will just change a few settings that Windows uses to redirect the search results that you get from the Internet. It will essentially disappear after "hijacking" your Internet settings, making it almost untraceable to most antivirus tools. Many people try, and fail, to get rid of this virus by using the popular antivirus programs, when in reality, these tools will never be able to get rid of the infection anyway. This virus works by changing the "redirect" settings on your system so that they point to miscellaneous advertising websites whenever you get redirected on the Internet. Each time you use Google / Yahoo / Bing and click a link, you're not taken to the target site you want... but actually through a link on the homepage of the search engine you're using. This special link will track search metric data, but more importantly, will redirect your web browser to the target site after it's gone through this link. This is where the Google Redirect Virus will infiltrate your PC and hijack the redirect - taking you to a fake advertising site instead. Removal of the Google Redirect Virus is actually a little bit tricky because of the way it embeds itself on your PC, and leaves no trace for antivirus programs to remove. This means that in order to effectively remove it from your system, you need to be able to use a program which is able to identify the files that the virus has infected, and specifically work on them to get rid of the infection. Out of all the possible tools you can use on the Internet, we've found that one called "ComboFix" works best to remove this virus. This is a little-known tool, which will remove the various infected settings its placed on your PC. After using that, it's also recommended you

use "Frontline Registry Cleaner" to get rid of any further damage that the virus may have caused inside the registry of your system.
