The Google Redirect Virus - How To Remove This Virus From Your Computer For Good By Greg Kahn

Are your Google search results redirecting you to some false websites? How about adverts continually showing whenever you want to view various web pages? The bad news is that you're PC likely has a virus called the "Google Redirect Virus" - a common type of infection which has been created by hackers to try and sell you some fake products. Although this virus is one of the most common ever unleashed onto the Internet, it's actually extremely difficult to remove unless you're able to get rid of it in the most effective way possible. The virus you have is a common "browser hijack infection", which works by changing a few of the files that your computer will use to control which websites you can access on the Internet. Not many people are aware of this, but most viruses work by installing a small file / setting onto your computer, which will then work to cause all sorts of issues and problems as it will control various parts of your system. These viruses are relatively easy to get rid of because anti-virus programs will be able to identify the rogue files that have been placed onto your system, and remove them. Unfortunately, the Google Redirect Virus is not easy to get rid of because it just changes a few of the settings that your computer will use to run... making it vital you first understand this infection and then remove it from your computer correctly. The Google Redirect Virus is just a piece of software which changes the "redirect" settings of your PC. Each time you browse the Internet, your system is continually being redirected through to a number of different websites through redirections. These are common online, and are used to take you to new web pages, correct problematic URL's and record important metric data. Although the redirects online normally work well, the redirect virus will basically have changed the settings that your computer will be using to handle them - to take you to some fake websites. This means that if you want to remove the infection, you have to ensure that you can correct the settings that are damaged - allowing your computer to run much smoother again. The way to get rid of the redirect virus is slightly different than most viruses - in that you need to be able to use two pieces of software:

Download & Run "Hitman Pro" - This is a removal tool for "rootkit" infections from your PC. The redirect virus often comes as a rootkit infection, meaning that if you download & run this piece of software, it will fix 75% of the cases of the redirect virus on your system. Download & Run "ComboFix" - This is a relatively little-known program which can be installed from the Internet and then run with a settings file on your PC. This basically fixes Windows files which are damaged, repairing a large number of Google Redirect Virus infections Using the two programs listed above is highly recommended to get rid of this infection, but if you don't have any luck with them, it's recommended that you use a program called "FixRedirectVirus" - a newly released tool that's able to fix any of the infected parts of the redirect virus from your PC.
