La revolución del fracking ha conseguido por fin cambiar equilibrios que se habían quedado inalterados durante décadas: Estados Unidos se convirtió en 2014 en el mayor productor mundial de petróleo, por delante de Arabia Saudí, y superó a Rusia en la clasificación de los países que extraen más hidrocarburos —el conjunto de crudo y gas—. El método de la fracturación hidráulica permitió al gigante norteamericano satisfacer el 90% de sus necesidades energéticas. Los datos que documen-

tan el nuevo orden mundial del petróleo aparecen en el anuario estadístico de 2015 que British Petroleumpresentó esta semana en Londres, una guía considerada de referencia en todo el mundo. Certifican el avance de Estados Unidos hasta alcanzar el liderazgo, una circunstancia que se veía venir desde hace tiempo. El año pasado fue clave para el mercado del crudo. El desplome de los precios en un 50% ha sentado las bases de una guerra comercial entre los productores tradicionales del Golfo Pérsico y las empresas de EE UU. El país norteamericano vive un boom petrolero.

En 2014 la producción de EE UU subió en 1,6 millones de barriles al día —el mayor incremento a nivel global— y alcanzó los 11,6 millones de barriles diarios, un 15,9% más que en 2013 y 139.000 por encima de Arabia Saudí. Se convirtió así en el primer país en aumentar su producción en al menos un millón de barriles al día durante tres años consecutivos, lo cual le permitió satisfacer el 90% de sus necesidades energéticas. Bob Dudley, economista jefe de BP, ha definido el liderazgo de EE UU como “una perspectiva impensable hace 10 años”.

Miles de mexicanos en Estados Unidos que califican para beneficiarse de la acción ejecutiva que evitaría su deportación y les concedería permisos de trabajo, han desaprovechado la oportunidad por desconocimiento o falta de dinero. Académicos consideran que al menos unos 25 mil mexicanos adicionales podrían beneficiarse del programa de Acción Diferida (DACA, por sus siglas en inglés), tan sólo en el estado de Nueva York. En todo el país, la cifra de mexicanos que han dejado pasar la oportunidad de

beneficiarse del programa conocido como DACA que da permisos de trabajo a quienes llegaron a Estados Unidos antes de 2007 y con menos de 16 años, ascendería a cientos de miles. “Al menos unos 20 mil o 25 mil mexicanos en el estado de Nueva York no han solicitado el DACA”, explicó Robert Smith, director del proyecto Iniciativa Mexicana sobre Acción Diferida e investigador de la Universidad de la Ciudad de Nueva York (CUNY). Smith destacó que entre las razones están las económicas, debido a que el permiso de trabajo -válido sólo por dos años-

tiene un costo de 465 dólares, y para muchos no son evidentes los beneficios que tendrían acogiéndose al programa. “Los beneficios de DACA son limitados y deben ser renovados cada dos años. No da acceso a préstamos educativos, ni a legalizar a la pareja o hijo, por ejemplo. Es un estatus pero es muy limitado”, dijo Smith a Notimex, en el marco de un evento del consulado de México en Nueva York. Según cifras oficiales, unos 570 mil mexicanos han solicitado los beneficios de DACA en Estados Unidos, lo que representa 77 por ciento de todos las solicitudes registradas.

Puerto Rico’s Woes Deepen

Queremos que nuestro mensaje, que nuestra cultura latina, alcance a las diversas culturas y comunidades con las cuales convivimos, y establecer con ellas los intercambios sociales y culturales posibles. Some time ago, I wrote about the sad economic situation facing Puerto Rico, describing it as an updated version of the famous Puerto Rican song known in Spanish as “Lamento borincano.” In that song, a depressed economy killed the hopes of a jibarito who wanted to sell his wares and buy a gift for his mother. That sad song made its composer, Rafael Hernández, and his island famous throughout the world. Very little has changed since I wrote that op-ed. If anything has changed, it is the situation itself, which has worsened. The talk now is of a country in bankruptcy. There is talk of public corporations on their way to receivership (for instance, the electric power company) and of possible agency shutdowns because there is no money for the Popular Democratic Partycontrolled government to operate fully at the same time it pays off a $72 billion debt accumulated over 16 years. And there is still talk of an unemployment rate that is now of about 13% (almost three times the rate in the US) and triggers a massive

emigration, especially of young professionals that do not find opportunities in an island that does not generate enough jobs and has an economy that grew by a handful of tenths of a percent over the last few years. This is the current Puerto Rican lamentation, which will be sadder once an 11.5% sales tax phases in this September and the cost of living increases as a result. Elsewhere, especially in Latin America, an economic panorama this dark has motivated intense and constant street demonstrations and the immediate exit of more than one head of state. That is what happened in Argentina and Bolivia before their current and controversial presidents were elected. In Puerto Rico, the discontent and the protests are visible; for instance, a huge demonstration was held against cuts in the budget of the University of Puerto Rico to allocate more funds to the government. However, a considerable number of Puerto Ricans defends the ”sales tax” without let-up out of purely partisan motives, which weakens any grassroots

movement to chastise the government for its actions. Also, Puerto Ricans’ faith in electoral democracy facilitates the “protest vote,” which this time will benefit an opposition party – the New Progressive Party – that contributed to this debt crisis and now sees itself as blameless. Like with every big economic problem, the solutions that can be implemented (and there are many) require a political will that the current Puerto Rican government does not have. It had none, for instance, to levy taxes onto foreign corporations operating in the island, fearing that they would leave. But more importantly, it has had and will not have political will to accept that the limited powers provided by the commonwealth status, in which they still believe, are the root cause of the problem. In all, it is now impossible for Puerto Rico to remain as an unincorporated territory of the US, because this “Lamento borincano” of the 21st century is no more and no less than its logical consequence.

Furthermore, by projecting an inclusive business model, small businesses have the opportunity to sell to the LGBT community, which has an estimated $830 billion in buying power.* At this time and space, many nations and people are confronting a moral and spiritual dilemma, due to the necessity to express and carry out, what is known and expected as human rights, and our duty and obligation to fulfill our Baptismal Vows: “To strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being”. I was asked by Dean Brooks to celebrate and preach at this service. I want to confess that I accepted, only because I could not say no, to what I promised at by ordination fifty seven years and four days ago. (Saint Barnabas, June 11). In reality, was able to respond, as I read Psalm 9: 9-20: “The Lord will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in time of trouble”. This ninths Psalm seems to be been written especially for this weekend, because of the difficulties that are passing with the Haitian migrants and their offspring’s here in the Dominican Republic. There is concern for what is taking place. There is pain many souls. There are awareness of what may happen in the near future to the migrants and their Dominican born and breathed children. But I and hopeful and prayerful, and this is why Psalm 9: 9ss are words of encouragements, and there is anticipation in: “The Lord is known by his acts of justice”. (Psalm 9:16). Confronting a Moral and Spiritual Dilemma

As we all know, thousands of people are leaving their countries and families in Africa and parts of the Middle East to migrate to Western Europe trying to get the possibility of a better life. The migrant population in Western Europe has escalated tremendously. This is costing tension, social unrest, concern for the observation of human rights,

and strains in the diplomatic circles. Thousands of people are trying day after day to migrate from countries of Latin-American to go to Europe, Canada or the USA. During the first part of the last of the 20th century thousands of West Indians (Cocolos) were brought to work on the sugar cane plantation in La Romana

The Dominican Republic is trying to deal with this extraordinary problem that seems unlikely to be overcome in the near future.

Here on the island of Hispaniola, the dilemma is not so much with new coming migrants, but rather, with the sensitive issue of the “nationality situation” of the Dominican born and breath descents of Haitian of undocumented and irregular parents. At this time in history, and due to the aggravating issue, we are called to be prayerful, by saying: “Oh Lord, you have been a refuge to the poor; the oppressed; the out casted; the weak; the defenseless; the outsider; the reviled because of race, color, gender, social background, or religion. Have mercy ¡oh God! Oh God, and merciful Lord, have pity of all those that are uncertain of the ending of the dreadful situation that they confronting. Oh Creator of heaven and earth, the maker of the human race and all that is in this world, you are Ruler of this universe and the commander of all things, help the suffering peoples of all sorts and conditions, and bring about justice, peace to the peoples of this fragile earth, and hope and tranquility to the minds and hearts of the human race. Oh gracious One, you have made the human race in you likeness and image, do not forsake your children. Restore faith, hope and love, so that your name is praised and your Divine Majesty be glorified forever and ever. Amen.

Why do so many Chinese students choose US universities? El Sol de Ohio

It is final exams week at the University of Illinois and students lucky enough to have finished their studies are lying on the grass of the quad, laughing with friends in the sunshine. It is an idyllic college scene. Junfeng Guan is not one of the lucky ones - at least not yet. The 20-year-old, who goes by his English name Jayden, still has one more test to take and is heading to find a place to study, lugging a backpack full of books. The electrical engineering student is not complaining. He has already overcome far bigger challenges since making the move from China to America’s mid-west where the University of Illinois UrbanaChampaign (UIUC) is surrounded by farmland. The rural setting was initially a huge culture shock for him. “The first time I went to Chicago I was going to cry... I’m so happy to get to a big city.” Rising numbers Jayden’s journey to study in the US is one that a staggering number of Chinese students are taking. The most recent figures, from the 2013-14 academic year, show that 274,000 international students in the US hailed from China - far more than from any other country.

There are more than a quarter of a million students from China in colleges in the United States - a third of all international students in the country - and almost a fivefold increase since 2000. Why do so many now come to study in the US? That was a 17% increase on the previous year and represented the tenth consecutive year of rising numbers. At UIUC, the trend is noticeable. The school boasts the largest number of international students of any public higher education institution in the US, nearly 5,000 of whom are Chinese. The typical overseas student has changed from being a “graduate student from Korea to being an undergrad from China”, says Martin McFarlane, the university’s associate director of international student and scholar services. The big shift in undergraduate applications is so significant that Mr McFarlane’s office now organises three pre-arrival orientations in China to prepare incoming students and their parents on what to expect when arriving on campus. More choice Jayden chose the UIUC without ever having been to the US.

He turned down an offer at a Chinese university in Shanghai because a Western education offered him the freedom to choose his focus of study.

“I want to go where I can learn whatever I want”, he explained. That is representative of a number of Chinese students. They want to get out of a schooling system that uses test scores to determine the subjects students will take, which makes it difficult to change once these have been assigned. UIUC’s strong reputation in engineering ultimately determined his choice to come to the campus. ‘One-child’ generation There are other non-academic factors fuelling the spike in students going to the US, such as the expansion of China’s middle class and policies on families. Charles Tucker, vice provost for Undergraduate Education and Innovation

at UIUC, points out that “children who were born under the one-child policy are now of college-educated age… and changes in the Chinese economy have promoted individual wealth in families”. The wealth that enables Chinese families to pay the high prices of US degrees is also beneficial for university budgets. International students at UIUC pay total costs of about $46,000 to $53,000, including tuition and accommodation. Local students from Illinois pay about $30,000 to $35,000 and US students from outside the state pay about $46,000 to $51,000. UIUC makes clear they do not accept international students purely for revenue generation reasons, and attribute the higher fees to added services. US students from outside of the state pay more because their families are not subsidising the university the same way a local family would through tax-dollars.

Family savings Xuran (Sherry) Peng, one of the students from China, says her parents had to use a large portion of their savings to send her to UIUC. They believe it is an investment that will benefit her entire family, including her six-year-old half brother. “I feel like it’s part of my responsibility to earn the tuition for him, because my parents actually have the big wish that both of us can finish our education in the US and probably work in the US in the future,” she says. Sherry attended a traditional Chinese high school, but lived in the US with her family for two years when she was seven years old and has fond memories of that experience. She says there were around 60 other students

in her high school that also chose to come to the US for college. “In China, there are also lots of international high schools where people are aiming to get into the top universities in the US,” explains Sherry. China has seen a rapid development of international schools in recent years, showing the country’s growing demand for a Western-style education. Such a convergence of eastern and western education is seen as preparing students for life after university. And what does it mean for individuals? “I feel a little more American now, but I still have a long way to go because if I want to make some American friends I need to practise my small talk and... overcome the culture gap,” says Jayden. El consumo de un huevo diario en pacientes con diabetes no afecta su salud, por el contrario, disminuye los marcadores inflamatorios que muchas veces provocan enfermedades cardiacas, reveló una investigación del Centro de Investigación en Alimentación y Desarrollo (CIAD).

Este trabajo, liderado por la investigadora Martha Nydia Ballesteros Vásquez, desmitifica la idea de que este alimento incrementa los niveles de colesterol y grasa, generando alteraciones en el metabolismo del azúcar y glucosa en la sangre. Además el proyecto demostró que el consumo de

avena junto con el huevo, resulta benéfico para la salud, destacó la investigadora en una entrevista para la Agencia Informativa del Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (Conacyt). Ballesteros Vásquez comentó que el huevo contiene carotenoides como la luteína y la zeaxantina, así como pigmentos naturales que proporcionan protección contra el estrés oxidativo y la inflamación en el cuerpo. Estos elementos protegen a las células de los llamados radicales libres, responsables del proceso de envejecimiento, daño tisular y algunas enfermedades, comentó.

Existen básicamente dos periodos definidos durante el sueño: no-REM (Sueño lento) y REM (Movimiento ocular rápido). Cada uno tiene sus propias particularidades y fases: • En el sueño no-REM la persona —a lo largo de cuatro etapas— experimenta la transición de la vigilia al sueño ligero; luego, inicia el sueño propiamente dicho y, subsecuentemente, entra en un sueño profundo. Durante esta fase, el tono muscular es débil y la frecuencia cardíaca y respiratoria disminuyen. • El sueño REM ocupa aproximadamente el 20% del tiempo total que un adulto duerme, aunque

varía con la edad y es mayor en los niños. Se caracteriza por un movimiento rápido de los ojos, una abolición completa del tono muscular y una aceleración irregular de la frecuencia respiratoria y del pulso. Se ha comprobado que puede haber sueños en cualquiera de las fases del dormir humano. Sin embargo, los más elaborados y recordados son los que se producen en la fase REM, es decir, en el último tramo del ciclo del sueño. ¡Es por esto que muchas veces recordamos lo que hemos soñado! La falta de horas de sueño tiene consecuencias muy evidentes durante el día. Algunas de ellas son la tendencia a dormirse a todas horas, los cambios repentinos de humor, tristeza, irritabilidad, actitud pesimista y aumento del estrés y la ansiedad. Diversas pruebas para estudiar la falta de sueño durante varios días dieron como resultado que, después del tercer día sin dormir, suelen manifestarse alucinaciones y locura temporal. Los estudios demuestran que las probabilidades de sufrir alguna enfermedad psiquiátrica aumentan en un

40 por ciento cuando los problemas para dormir se vuelven crónicos. A nivel fisiológico, se ha visto que la falta de sueño también repercute en la habilidad para procesar la glucosa, lo que puede provocar altos niveles de azúcar en la sangre y favorecer la diabetes o un aumento de peso. Patients were able to receive free biometric screenings and mammograms. We had attendance from multiple Latino congregations from Columbus’ West Side. Not all visitors to the fair elected to receive the screenings, but were able to pick up information on OhioHealth services if they chose to do so.

OhioHealth also offer a program called the Latina Breast Cancer Project; We connect Latina women to breast cancer screening services through community education and a breast hotline staffed by a bilingual coordinator. We hope to increase knowledge of breast cancer and the importance of breast cancer screening through this program, as

Of the Hispanic patients who come to the hospital, what percentage pays via insurance and what percentage receives financial assistance? About 45% of our Hispanic patients are selfpay, 35% are Medicaid, 12% pay via insurance, 5% are Medicare. Of the services and programs that the hospital offers, which are the most used by the Hispanic patients?

General medicine and women’s health are the most used services by Hispanic patients to the hospital. As far as programs, the aforementioned OhioHealth’s Latina Breast Cancer Program has served over 23,000 Latina in Central Ohio since 2007. It remains the only culturally competent Latina breast health education and navigation program in central Ohio dedicated solely to Latina women. Which service or program would the hospital like to be used more frequently by the Hispanic community? For all patients, not just the Hispanic community, primary care is important for overall health and wellness. A primary care physician is your partner in linking you to the resources and specialist that will lead to your best health. In addition to the interpretation services that are offered, we also have primary care physician on staff at Doctor Hospital who is fluent in Spanish.

Eating placenta ‘does not benefit health’ El Sol de Ohio

There is no scientific evidence that eating the placenta after childbirth can protect women against depression and boost energy, US research suggests. Claims that the placenta contains vitamins which could benefit a woman’s health have increased interest in the practice in recent years. But a review by Northwestern University found no proven benefits and no research on the potential risks.

The Royal College of Midwives said it should be the woman’s choice. The researchers said the popularity of eating placentas had risen in the last few years but this may

have been due to women being influenced by media reports, blogs and websites. Their review, published in Archives of Women’s Mental Health, looked at

10 published studies related to placenta eating. But it could not find any data to support the claims thateating the placenta raw, cooked or in pill formcarried any health benefits. Placentophagy, as the act of eating placentas is known, has been said to reduce pain after delivery, increase energy levels, help with breastmilk production and enhance bonding between mother and child. Some are also convinced that it replenishes iron stores in the body, but the research team said this

was based on subjective reports rather than scientific research. The review also said there were no studies which looked at the risks of eating the placenta. The organ acts as a filter to absorb and protect the developing foetus from toxins and pollutants. As a result, the scientists said, bacteria or viruses could remain within the placenta tissues after birth. Lead study author Cynthia Coyle, a clinical psychologist at Northwestern University, said: “Our sense is that women

Church Life Victims of ISIS sex slavery released; trauma care provided

Recently, volunteers working with victims of IS sex slavery were supported with a Trauma Care training. Farah dares to share only fragments of her time with fighters of the selfproclaimed Islamic State (IS). Together with other women, Yazidis mostly, she was held in a room. Constantly, groups of men would come in and rape her and the other women. There were a lot of men, they came in whenever they liked, and they did to her whatever they liked.

When her mental state began to deteriorate as a consequence of all the rapes, they must have lost interest in her. Her kidnappers dumped her in a Kurdish city with nothing but the clothes on her body: a filthy burqa. Farah was completely lost. When she was gibbering quietly in the Christian language, a nun discovered her on the street. “I am from the Christian area,” she had whispered while revealing her face to the nun. The nun was shocked as she did not expect a Christian woman to be wearing a burqa. Through a local partner, Open Doors supports trauma care trainings for Yazidi and Christian volunteers that work with victims like Farah. The stories they hear from the victims are crueler then one can imagine.

Maryam* is a local fieldworker involved in the trainings. She shares: “The IS fighters look them in the eyes, but don’t see a human being. They have no mercy.” The state of Farah’s body shows that the rapes she had to undergo were brutal. But even more poignant is what it did to her mentally. For the volunteers in the training, Farah’s situation is recognizable. On a daily basis they work with women who behave in similar ways. They have stopped speaking or are constantly shaking. Many of the victims commit suicide or plan to do so. “One Yazidi girl told us that she was waiting for her family to return from IS territory and that she would kill herself afterwards. She was very certain about this,” says Maryam. Some of the nuns working with traumatized people have had some form of education about the subject, but the ones attending the training are eager to get more tools to help their people. They fled just minutes before the women they are now taking care of. The fact that they could escape while the victims couldn’t is a big motivation for them to help them. Iraq is ranked #3 on the Open Doors’ 2015 World Watch List of the 50 worst persecutors of Christians. Many Christians live a dangerous life in Colombia Latin America’s longest war has been going on for more than five decades. From the outside, Colombia appears to be peaceful and quiet. The diversity seems to be in perfect harmony. But when one sets foot on the ground, harmony is gone and anxiety takes over. A civil war has been going on for years. Many Colombians suffer from the complex battle between the government and illegally armed groups. More than five million people have been displaced over the years. Thousands have been killed. Today a third of the country is controlled by illegal armed groups. Christians are persecuted because the message of the gospel stands against the practices of illegal armed groups. Colombia is ranked 35th on the Open Doors 2015 World Watch List of the 50 worst persecutors of Christians.

Who are these Christians? What challenges do they face? And do they still believe in real peace? “You have to stop preaching and holding church services. If you continue to preach, we will kill you,” said a FARC commander to a pastor in Guaviare, Colombia. FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) is the biggest illegal armed group fighting against the Colombian government since 1964. One of the primary ways FARC exerts power is by imposing their rules on the people of Colombia. In April 2014, 12 churches were closed by FARC. Without a doubt, this event reminded pastors of the terrible moment in 2009 when Pastor Manuel Camacho was shot by guerrilla fighters because he refused to stop preaching the gospel. This was not only a tragedy for his family, but also a big

shock for the Christian community in Guaviare. Life as a Christian can be deadly. Christians like Pastor Manuel are found everywhere in Colombia. These are brave men, women and children who live out a dangerous faith. And what makes their faith dangerous? The answer is their decision to follow Jesus, the One who brings true peace — a peace that many Colombians don’t know because of the ongoing war. Christians understand the rules: obey every order the guerrilla gives you and stop preaching and evangelizing. But many Christians don’t want that. They are convinced that Jesus is the only hope for their country. They want to see as many people as possible come to know Him. Open Door.

Amigo lector, recuerda que cuando llevamos en oración los deseos de nuestros corazones Dios se encargará que esa meta se cumpla y si por alguna razón ese deseo o meta no lo ves hecho realidad es porque Jesucristo tiene metas mejores para entregarte. Le pido que, por medio del Espíritu y con el poder que procede de sus gloriosas riquezas, los fortalezca a ustedes en lo íntimo de su ser, para que por fe Cristo habite en sus corazones. El gobernador de Texas, Greg Abbott, firmó una legislación que protege a las iglesias, pastores y sacerdotes contra demandas civiles o sanciones gubernamentales, por negarse a celebrar matrimonios entre personas del mismo sexo. La nueva ley protege a las organizaciones religiosas y a las personas de la realización de matrimonios que violan sus creencias religiosas. “Los pastores pueden ahora ejercer su derecho de la Primera Enmienda”, dijo Abbott al firmar la iniciativa SB 2065. Abbott firmó la ley durante una ceremonia realizada este jueves en la Mansión del Gobernador en Austin, acompañado de varios legisladores que fueron esenciales en la su aprobación, así como miembros del organizaciones religiosas. La legislación recibió el apoyo bipartidista luego que defensores de los derechos de los homosexuales lograran convencer a los legisladores de modificar la iniciativa y elimi-

nar el lenguaje que dijeron implicaba una amplia discriminación en contra de lesbianas, gays, bisexuales y transgéneros. La nueva ley fortalece un precedente legal que ya autorizaba al clero y a otros líderes religiosos el negarse a realizar ceremonias de matrimonio, o proporcionar servicios relacionados, que “pueden hacer que una organización o individuo violen una creencia religiosa mantenida con sinceridad”. Texas es una de las 13 entidades de Estados Unidos que aún prohiben el matrimonio entre personas del mismo sexo.

La aplicación, denominada FuelMe, disponible para teléfonos iPhone y de sistema Android, permite al usuario gestionar la información de pago y los datos de identificación del vehículo, para ordenar desde ahí que se llene el tanque de combustible del automóvil. La aplicación enviará a un asociado de FuelMe a su vehículo, para que lo llene de gasolina con un cargo de cinco dólares sobre el precio del combustible, mientras el usuario trabaja en su oficina, realiza sus compras en un supermercado o se encuentra en el gimnasio. Jurassic World takes $511m in record opening weekend

The fourth instalment in the Jurassic Park series has become the first film to take more than $500m at the box office on its opening weekend. Jurassic World was the most popular screening in all 66 countries where it was released. The film made $204.6m in the US, according to the firm Exhibitor Relations.

It took $100m in China and $29.6m in the UK and Ireland as part of the record global total of $511.8m. The Universal Pictures release had the secondhighest grossing opening weekend in the US. The record is held by Marvel’s The Avengers, which took $207.4m in 2012. But Jurassic World could

still dethrone the comic book film, as the weekend figures are partially estimated. The final tally will be revealed later on Monday. Jurassic World was coproduced by Steven Spielberg, who directed the first two films in the series, and directed by Colin Trevorrow.

The project took Ohio Wesleyan University students Courtney Dunneand Olivia Lease outside of their comfort zones in more ways than one. The project – an independent study in multimedia journalism – took the OWU journalism majors to the “Streets of Delaware,” where they interviewed members of the community’s homeless population and examined the resources available to help them. For the semester-long project, Dunne and Lease also stretched their journalism skills to plan the detailed, multifaceted investigation that included identifying sources, preparing for and conducting interviews; shooting and editing video; taking photographs; recording audio; and creating a comprehensive website to share the results of their investigation.

Dunne and Lease chose to title their project “Streets of Delaware,” after learning that this is the official address used for the city’s homeless in public records. In a June 8 Delaware Gazette article, “Telling the homeless’ story,” Dunne, a theatre double major from

Cincinnati, told writer Stacy Kess: “So many times throughout our reporting, we thought ‘this issue is so much bigger than we had imagined.’ But I think that’s what drove us to continue what we were doing.”
