Embroidery Exhibition The Beautiful Stitch* Tuesday 5 - Thursday 28 February The Embroiderers’ Guild Collection is full of stories behind the techniques and styles of embroidery on display. Incorporating textiles from previous centuries to the present day, we hope this special exhibition will inform and intrigue all those who come to see it. For this exhibition, five themes were chosen, representing particular strengths of the Collection: • • • • •

A spectacular science event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing and explore what the future holds for humanity. Lift up your eyes and experience the Museum of the Moon, a 7-metre diameter lunar replica hovering above the Cathedral’s nave. Come and explore the wonders of space through themed activity nights, an interactive ‘space’ exhibition, talks by leading experts, plus movies, art, music and much more. Visiting Ely Cathedral Cathedral Tours Experience a Tower Tour at Ely Cathedral. The unique Octagon Tower, 170 steps ascending medieval turrets, is considered the jewel in the Cathedral crown. The West Tower offers one of the best views in East Anglia and is well worth the 288-step climb to the top. Tours available daily (subject to guide availability). Advance booking advised.
