Gym Etiquette 101

At Burj Khalifa, we’re constantly working to ensure an enjoyable community environment and in line with this, we would like to bring your attention to rules around usage of the gym facilities.

• Please avoid dropping weights on the floor, it may cause damage to equipment and potentially harm those around you.

• Be mindful of the residents around and avoid engaging in activities that lead to increased noise.

• Please use headsets or earphones when playing music and keep the volume at a minimum level so others can comfortably work out.

• While having conversations, please ensure that the noise level does not disturb those around you.

We aim to keep community facilities as efficient, safe and comfortable as possible for all owners, tenants and visitors. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us achieve these goals.

Contents Insurance

Your home is filled with belongings that hold sentimental and financial value that deserve to be protected.

We encourage all residents to consider obtaining a contents insurance which safeguards your belongings against unforseen events and incidents such as floods, vandalism, theft, fire and storm damage.

Some items covered by contents insurance include:

Personal belongings such as electronic appliances, furniture, curtains, art, lamps, fixtures, wallpaper and jewelry

Some items covered by community insurance include:

Common areas such as roads, amenities, signage, street lights, walls, irrigation system and gate barriers

COMMON FAQS:

I'm a tenant. Isn't community insurance the responsibility of my landlord?

Yes - but landlords and Emaar Community Management are only responsible for insuring the structure and common areas. Insuring belongings is the responsibility of the tenant.

My things were damaged as a result of structural damage to the walls. Whose responsibility is it?

Even if structural damage affected your belongings, only the cost of repairing the property will be covered by the community's insurance, which excludes personal contents of the home.

Rain water entered my home and damaged my appliances. Is this the community's responsibility?

Community insurance will cover any water damage to the roads, sidewalks, sports courts and any other common areas affected. Items inside the home are not covered - that's where a contents insurance plan comes in.

Parking Regulations

Considering the constant Influx of cars into the community parking lots, we would like to remind our residents that storing of personal belongings in car parking spaces is prohibited.

By adhering to this rule, we can ensure smooth flow of traffic, and help prevent potential hazards. This also maintains the aesthetics and tidiness of the space.

We appreciate your cooperation and we are eager to create a more organized living environment for all.

Beat the Heat

With the Dubai summer in full swing, it’s important to prioritize well-being and hydration, amidst the rising temperatures. The heat can pose multiple risks to your health and the health of those you love. Check out some common illnesses and warning signs to stay alert and prepared:

Heat-related Illnesses

• Heat rash or cramps

• Heat syncope (Fainting)

• Heat exhaustion (If untreated, can quickly lead to heat stroke)

• Heat stroke (If untreated by medical care, can result in death)

Warning signs

• Feeling weak and fatigued

• Headaches

• Loss of concentration

• Clumsiness, slower reaction times

• Slurred speech

• Intense thirst

• Heavy sweating

• Dry skin with no sweating

• Nausea and vomiting

• Rapid breathing/shortness of breath

• Fast/weak pulse rate

• Tingling/numbness of fingers toes

• Visual disturbance

• Dizziness, fainting

• Seizures and unconsciousness

Quench Your Thirst

Stay hydrated this summer! Proper hydration plays an essential role in your body’s daily regulatory functions and is especially important in peak summer months. We have a few tips and tricks to make sure residents beat the heat!

Do’s

• Drink chilled or room temperature water.

• Drink natural juices and smoothies with fruits and vegetables that are high in water content like cucumbers and watermelons.

• Consume fresh fruits and vegetables directly as a great source of fiber and much-needed nutirents.

Don’ts

• Drink increased amounts of hot tea or coffee.

• Drink carbonated sodas, they might end up making you thirsiter than before, due to their high sugar content.

• Drink caffeinated sports drinks, as they have been linked to symptoms of heat stroke, can cause headaches and leave you dehyrated instead.
