Welcome to the Entrepreneurs Inspire Conference! It’s a new day for the Riata Center and our entrepreneurs’ Inspire conference! For the last four years, we have held our conference for women entrepreneurs in Oklahoma City. This fifth year, we are holding our new conference, Entrepreneurs Inspire, in Tulsa and the emphasis is on all entrepreneurs. Welcome to Inspire 2014! Inspire 2014 is for everyone because entrepreneurship is a possibility for everyone. And you will be part of an exciting program of speakers, panels, topics, and fun. As always, you will have the chance to hear from those who have experienced success and failure, made right moves and wrong moves, faced opportunities and obstacles. But do more than just listen: We hope to inspire you to be a part of the day — to ask your questions, share your ideas, make new contacts, revive old contacts and get involved. Go through our new program booklet to see the exciting program we have planned for you. And look at our special sponsors who helped make this happen for you here in Tulsa. We are especially pleased to bring you our national keynote speakers and the important new emergence of social entrepreneurship on the venture horizon. Social entrepreneurship is joined by intrapreneurship — entrepreneurial practices that happen within corporations. It is important that we all see entrepreneurship beyond starting new businesses. Intrapreneurship accounts for a huge part of this country’s economy, and we need to learn more about this because many of you are intrapreneurs.
32 Afternoon Panel
We want this Inspire conference to be a rewarding and valuable experience for you all. Don’t miss the afterconference festivities at the Inspire Expo and Networking Reception for more networking, business exhibits, giveaways, book signings, entertainment and a cash bar.

The Art of ImproviZEN:
FEEDing the Future:
How to yes and your way to a more productive and harmonious workplace.
The Power of Social Business
David Wilk, co-founder, Four-Day Weekend
Lauren Bush Lauren, founder & CEO, FEED Projects
David Wilk is a founding member of the Four-Day Weekend Comedy Theater in Fort Worth, Texas. Born in Tulsa, Okla., Dave is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory in Chicago. In addition to having performed more than 5,000 live shows, Dave also travels nationally and internationally to host events and do keynote addresses for corporate clients. His client list reads like a who’s who of the Fortune 500. You may (or may not) recognize Dave from one of his many national commercial campaigns for such companies as Dish Network, Rent-A-Center, Papa John’s, Charles Schwab and Frito-Lay. Dave has appeared in many films you’ve never seen.
Lauren Bush Lauren is the founder and CEO of FEED Projects, a company with the simple mission of creating products that help feed the world. In 2004, Lauren became an honorary student spokesperson for the U.N. World Food Programme. In that role, she traveled to various countries and learned about the issues of hunger and poverty firsthand. Coming back to America, Lauren was inspired to create a consumer product that would engage people in the seemingly overwhelming fight to end world hunger. In 2005, she conceptualized the idea for FEED by designing the initial FEED 1 bag which, when purchased, feeds one child in school for one year. In 2007, FEED Projects was founded. Every product sold has a measurable donation attached to it and, over the past five years, FEED has donated more than $6 million and has been able to provide nearly 60 million meals globally through the U.N. World Food Programme.
Dave and Four-Day Weekend were keynote presenters at the U.S. Congress Democratic Caucus Issues Conference in Cambridge, Md., where they received a standing ovation and met President Barack Obama. He and Four Day also shared the stage with former President George W. Bush on Sept. 11, 2012, in Las Vegas. Dave and Four-Day Weekend received the Key to the City of Fort Worth for being “Fort Worth’s Greatest Ambassadors” in 2011. Dave co-created and sold a half-hour television comedy pilot to 20th Century Fox. He and his Four-Day Weekend colleagues just published their first book, The Art of ImproviZEN. The book blends the tenets of improvisation with the principles of Zen, creating a road map to communicate effectively and marry creativity and commerce for a harmonious work environment. (If you ask him, he’ll probably give you a copy. He’ll definitely give you a copy. There’s a good chance he’ll force you to take a copy)
What Inspires Me?
FEED has also supported nutrition programs around the world and in the U.S. through organizations such as UNICEF and DonorsChoose.org and forged successful relationships with companies such as Disney, Pottery Barn, Clarins Group, Godiva, Whole Foods Market, Gap, Toms, Amazon, DKNY, HSN, Bergdorf Goodman, Links of London and Judith Leiber.
“I am inspired to help FEED those who are hungry by using my passion for design and entrepreneurship.”
Lauren is also chairman of the board of the FEED Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports programs and organizations that are effectively working to fight hunger and eliminate malnutrition throughout the world. For her work with FEED, Lauren was named one of Fortune magazine’s “Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs” in 2009 and one of Inc. magazine’s “30 Under 30” in 2010. Lauren was born in Denver and grew up in Houston. She graduated from Princeton University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and a certificate in photography. She now resides in New York City, where she works on FEED and other socially conscious ventures.
About Four Day Weekend The Four-Day Weekend Theater in Fort Worth, Texas, is home to Four Day Weekend, a critically acclaimed comedy troupe that performs a live show with sketches, scenes and songs created from audience suggestions and participation. Completely improvised each Friday and Saturday night, the performance is an interactive experience. By combining interactive video and music with the improvisational skill of the talented cast, Four-Day Weekend creates an environment that is entertaining, educational and impressive. Nationally, the troupe has performed across the United States and was a keynote presenter at the U.S. Congress Democratic Caucus Issues Conference in Cambridge, Md. They received a standing ovation and met President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. Four-Day Weekend shared the stage with keynote presenter former President George W. Bush on Sept. 11, 2012, in Las Vegas. Internationally, Four-Day Weekend has performed shows in Canada, Bermuda, Costa Rica, England, Singapore, Hong Kong and Belize.
8
The Four Day Weekend cast members have starred in hundreds of national television commercials (for such companies as McDonald’s, Charles Schwab, Polaroid, Papa John’s and more), have served as national spokesmen for Whataburger, Dish Network, Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary, Pringles and Church’s Fried Chicken; and have appeared in several major motion pictures, including Dr. T and the Women, My Boyfriend’s Back, Killing Down and Drop Dead Sexy. Additionally, Four-Day Weekend recently published a book, The Art of ImproviZEN. The book blends the tenets of improvisation with the principles of Zen, creating a road map to communicate effectively in the workplace and learn to live and work as a true team.

Shatter the 9 Most Common Myths Keeping You From Starting Your Own Business; and Launching a Business: The First 100 Days.
Launching a Business: The First 100 Days
What Inspires Me? “The joy I get from watching students realized their entrepreneurial dream.”
This session focuses on the tasks that a business owner must complete in the first 100 days of launching a business. Think of it this way: Imagine you’ve conceived a business idea, written a business plan, raised seed capital and are set to launch your business on May 1. Now, what would you actually do on May 1, May 2, May 3, and so forth? How would you set your priorities? How would you know which tasks are the most urgent? Although the answers to these questions vary depending on the business, there is a set of key activities that all businesses must accomplish to get off to a good (and legally proper) start. To help you prioritize and track the activities that must be completed at the onset of a business, the session will teach you how to set up a “First 100 Days Plan” for a business (with a template distributed during the session).

Morning Panel The Sustainable Oklahoma Artist Being entrepreneurial is an art requiring creative thinking, passion and dedication. Who better understands this process than an artist? Trends in the business and arts worlds allow artists to find the means to support themselves and profit from their life’s passions. The panel will discuss ways to foster the entrepreneurial spirit among local artists and the resources that are available to them.

AFTERNOON Branding Your Personal Story Afternoon Breakout Sessions
Notes
into a Powerful Business
Emad Rahim, entrepreneur in residence, Oklahoma State University
What Inspires Me? “Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.” - Albert Einstein
30
Emad Rahim is an award-winning author, educator, entrepreneur and business leader. He survived the “killings fields” of Cambodia before escaping to the streets of New York as refugee in the early 1980s. As a youth, he was caught in the crossfire of a drug deal gone wrong, stabbed during a gang fight, and grew up in poverty-stricken household, raised by an abusive stepfather. He went from barely graduating high school to earning a doctorate of management from Colorado Technical University and completing post-doctoral studies at Harvard University, Tulane University and the University of Maryland University College. Emad co-founded two startup firms and a nonprofit association, and currently serves as a senior partner at Intelligent HQ, and the chief learning officer for Global i365 LLC. He is also the appointed entrepreneurin-residence at Oklahoma State University and a visiting scholar at Rutgers University. He was recently recognized for his entrepreneurship work at the United Nations as an Empact100 Honoree and featured in the Huffington Post and CEO magazine.
Branding Your Personal Story into a Powerful Business Your personal story matters and can be used as a powerful tool to distinguish your business brand from others. People are drawn to stories of success, failures and overcoming great adversity. People want to feel connected with the owner of the business — not just its products and services. If people see and “feel” your passion of the business within your story, you have the potential of creating a strong community of supporters and loyal customers.
