you looking to set up RCN email in MS Outlook 2016? If yes, then you don’t have to wait for an expert to call you and dictate the entire process. You can perform the steps on your own. You just have to follow below-mentioned steps in order to set up RCN mail on MS Outlook 2016.

 

To set up a new RCN email account, click ‘File tab’ and then, ‘add account’ in Outlook. If you were trying to add ‘RCN email’ before, then you can click ‘account settings’ and then ‘set up more connections or change settings for this account’ option. Go to step 4 now as step 2 and 3 are irrelevant for you.

An option named ‘manual setup or additional server types’ needs to be enabled by clicking the radio button against the option.  Click ‘Next’. 

 Select radio button against POP or IMAP option.  Click ‘next’.

ď ľ

Please take a backup of all the emails before making any change in the email account. If you delete an email account, then all the messages that are associated with that email are going to delete as well, especially when using POP accounts. Get in touch with RCN email help and support providers in case there is any issue.

  

Enter the full name that you want your contacts to see after receiving emails from you. Enter your RCN email address. Select IMAP or POP3 in the account type. If you are looking to synchronize your RCN email across multiple devices, then I would suggest using IMAP.

   

Incoming Email Server: Use ‘host.yourdomainname.com’ when using SSL and use ‘mail.yourdomainname.com’ when using (non-SSL). Outgoing Email Server: Use ‘host.yourdomainname.com’ when using SSL and use ‘mail.yourdomainname.com’ when using non-SSL. Username: Your RCN email address will come here. Password: Enter the password for your RCN email account.

   

Click ‘more settings’ button and then, ‘outgoing server’ tab. Check ‘SMTP requires authentication’ option. Enable ‘use same settings as my incoming mail server’. Disable ‘log onto incoming email server before sending email’ option. This option is going to appear if you have configured RCN email using POP3.

   

Incoming Server (IMAP): 993 for TLS/SSL and 143 for non-SSL. Use the following type of encrypted connection: Select ‘TLS’ for TLS/SSL and select ‘None’ for non-SSL. Outgoing Server (SMTP): Enter ‘465’ for TLS/SSL and ‘25’ or ‘587’ for nonSSL. Use the following type of encrypted connection: Use ‘TLS’ for ‘TLS/SSL’ and use ‘None’ for non-SSL.
