Are there general guidelines for the application of secure computation techniques that could enable the improvement of datasensitive applications within ATM? SecureDataCloud provides a paradigm to deal with confidentiality issues without limiting the ability of performing relevant computation of private data: the use of a Secure MultiParty Computation approach.

As already demonstrated in countless other fields, including massive economical or biomedical applications, the use of secure computation would enable the improvement of datasensitive applications within Air Traffic Management. The project aims at analysing the feasibility of importing such technology in ATM through the analysis of several scenarios. Among others, these include safety, allowing analysts to mine some specific patterns inside historical data, without actually accessing the data sets and thus ensuring confidentiality; improving global characteristics of air transport, by enabling secure auditing process on delay or safety reports; or improving the cooperation between airlines, fostering mechanisms such as slot bidding, collaborative decision making and benchmarking.
SecureDataCloud aims at providing general guidelines for the application of secure computation techniques to ATM scenarios, by developing a set of Business Cases based on real stakeholders needs and on real information. SecureDataCloud also aims to create a Software Reference Framework, providing functions, algorithms and protocols that will constitute the starting ground for anyone beginning a new development.
