By Creative Director Tshombe Crumley Everyone in the world has a will to do more, to go beyond the mark and defy what is and create something new meshed with the old. Dreams transcend space and time. Dreams embrace hope. Dreams have broken barriers. Dream personified is the younger brother of Hope who slept with Envy and birthed invisible twins called Fear and Hatred. Instead of soaring upwards, those evil twins combine and send their Uncle Dream flying backwards through the Valley of the Ashes from whence we all came. They excite counter attacks by sculpting challenges set forth by Dream’s peers and friends tossed with those who want to suck the life out of Dream’s artistic soul. The Great Gatsby is an American novel,

written in Paris in the 192o’s by Fitzgerald based on the themes of the infamous “American Dream.” Many critics have argued that the novel suggests nothing of the sorts. However, Gatsby has a dream to conquer Daisy and her status only to find that he could never achieve past that Green Light and enter into Daisy’s society and world. The American Dream in the 1920’s sparked a worldwide trend. In Paris, Josephine Baker, an American woman became a superstar teamed with “All that Jazz” in Harlem, NY. The fashion was avante garde, dazzling couture houses soared across the globe and fashion was created in Paris & Milano and dreams were being born universally. The overall theme of Fitzgerald’s Great Gatsby is “You are

what you say you are” , just because you believe is alive today globally. America represents that place beyond the “Green Light” where cultures collide in areas like NYC, Los Angeles, and Embrace Fashion Magazine’s West Egg of San Francisco, California. Embrace Fashion Magazine conquers the themes of the Great Gatsby through an interesting and unique panoramic blend of culture, art, beauty and fashion editorials intertwined with provocative and intellectual life and reality topics in which we entitled “Fashion Gatsby”. We challenge our readers to EMBRACE our “Fashion Gatsby”; our true journey to create a universal voice and hope to turn worldwide artist’s fantasies into living realities. At EMBRACE, we are “Breathing Dreams and Fashion like Air” and as you flip through our Sample Issue #1, we hope you “EMBRACE the Fashion Gatsby in you”. While in the Valley of the Ashes, Universal Dream had to transform into a new self, be reborn, and regain his wings so that he could soar again. Dream went on a fashion journey through Paris, Germany, NYC and San Francisco. Dream embraced fear and hatred and those evil twins disappeared. Big Brother Hope appeared and awared his brother Dream that Envy had calculated and plotted this whole fiasco from the beginning. Dreams lesson was learned as he looked to the Green Light he found Mother Nature sitting high above the land away from the Valley of Ashes. Mother Nature quoted a passage from Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, “Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgiastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter--tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther.... And one fine morning-- So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”

“This is a valley of ashes - a fantastic farm where ashes grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque gardens; where ashes take the forms of houses and chimneys and rising smoke and, finally, with a transcendent effort, of men who move dimly and already crumbling through the powdery air.” ― F. By Creative Director Tshombe Crumley Gossell describes his work as a mixture of medians. “Fragments of a variety of layering paired with letting the piece grow and transform into something”. His work has been showcased throughout the US and abroad. Some locations include London, Copenhagen, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco mixed with commercial clients like Burton Snowboards, Stussy and Interscope Records and being published in The San Francisco Chronicle, Juxtapoz Art & Culture Magazine, Artiant, Artful Living and ROJO Magazine. The detail oriented, workaholic enjoys cooking and experiencing nature as a way of relaxation at Minneapolis Lakes, where he currently resides in Minneapolis, MN. Greg’s visual repertoire of pop culture imagery ranges from pulp novels to romance comics and even fallen icons of the 20th century. Greg explains “the process of creating this new body of work consists of a constant layering of elements, building up the surface, and creating a unique history within each piece; adding new elements, while painting over and obscuring others. Through this process I try to explore the contrast between the mechanical repetition of silkscreen reproduction and geometric elements, with the organic and expressive qualities of hand painting and mark making.”
