SOUTH QUAY IN POOLE HARBOUR THE WORLD’S NEWEST CRUISE BERTH IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS! Poole Harbour will be welcoming thousands of cruise ship passengers to the south coast this summer with the completion of South Quay, the world’s newest cruise berth. Completion of the £10m South Quay project concludes Poole Harbour Commissioner’s ambitious 7-year expansion, said to be one of the biggest port developments seen on the South Coast in recent years.

South Quay is a 200m long x 40m wide deep-water quay that provides 9m in depth to accommodate vessels up to 220m in length. South Quay has been operational for cargoes and yacht transfers since the beginning of the year, but the completion of the surfacing work means
that Poole is ready and waiting to receive its first Cruise Ship of the season in May. Grand Circle Line, Variety Cruises and Cruise & Maritime Voyages have already announced South Quay for their 2018 sailing routes and discussions have begun with several other interested companies. Jim Stewart, CEO of Poole Harbour Commissioners enthused, “This is an incredibly important milestone for the port and we are confident that Poole will become a key port for cruise companies going forward.” Continuing Jim advised, “Cruise ship calls to Poole will double in 2018 and, we are anticipating, will double again in 2019. This will bring much valued revenue and opportunities to Poole’s economy and beyond.”

LANGSIDE SCHOOL’S BRAND NEW SENSORY ROOM Langside, the Diverse Abilities run special school, is delighted that its new sensory room, known as Imaginarium, is now open for pupils to enjoy and benefit from. Having a sensory space that is fully functional is very important to the children that attend Langside School, as it plays a vital role in their development, communication and understanding of their surroundings. Those with limited mobility can lay on a bed that resonates music and delivers it to the body to relax their muscles. The children will be able to play games and interact with the projector, providing hours of enjoyment and entertainment. It will also increase their concentration, focus and alertness developing hand and eye co-ordination and motor skills. The sensory room will also be used by other services run by the charity providing a relaxing, calming environment for all children and adults with disabilities in the local area that Diverse Abilities supports. HOW TO CHOOSE STORAGE Steve Webber, Director of Maidmans Moving & Storage Steve has many years’ experience in the moving and storage industry. Mrs P, of Poole asked, “What should I consider when choosing storage?” Steve replied: “Make sure storage meets your needs, otherwise you could end up with something that is unsuitable or not cost effective. The two types of storage to consider are containerised storage and self-storage. Containerised storage is often cheaper, but you must weigh this up against a lack of access to your belongings”. Steve added, “consider the following points before choosing storage: Location - For regular access to stored belongings, using a facility 50-miles away makes little sense. But, if you will not need access, you may save money using containerised storage outside of your immediate location. Access – Not every self-storage facility is open 24 hours a day, but for most people normal weekday access or access on demand will suffice. Facilities – Security is paramount, including lockable access and cameras. Consider fire protection and insurance. Lastly, don’t underestimate good customer service, Maidmans, storage solutions are rated as highly by clients as the moving side of our business”.

If you are looking to update your home/ flat/ room this season, then there are some key interior trends you need to know about for spring/ summer 2018. ICE CREAM SHADES: This is a fun colour trend for 2018 that involves mixing and matching pastels to create a look which is both soft and bold at the same time. The lovely contrast of bubblegum blues, pistachio greens and strawberry pinks create a vibrant colour palette without overwhelming the senses. Keeping a neutral backdrop is key to this trend, as these pastels work best as the sole source of colour through various accents. Opting for a vanilla cream, white or black background should ensure success with this palette. DARK WOODS: The Scandi trend that we are all very familiar with may have encouraged us to select bleached wood and indiscreet furniture but this year we are going bolder and darker. Mahogany, textured walnut and dark oak are starting to take centre stage and are adding a new depth to any room. This finish will become more prominent in commercial spaces as well as residential, with dark wood desks giving an edge of sophistication to office environments. NEW METALLICS: You will often see this newly popular dark wood finish teamed with metallics, but not just any metallics. Instead of rose gold and yellow gold, more industrial shades of metal are becoming increasingly popular. Materials with less of a shine such as nickel and brass will give your space a more organic feel. Inject a hint of this trend into your home or commercial space through metallic pendant lights, framed wall-hung pictures and mirrors, edging on coffee tables or the feet on sofas and arm chairs. Brass is my personal favourite as there’s something quite special about the warm brass palette that adds instant luxe to a home. WABI-SABI: A big spring/ summer 2018 trend is ‘Wabi-Sabi’, which is an easy, carefree concept to apply. Wabi-Sabi finds beauty in imperfection, and when following the Wabi-Sabi way it is important to have authenticity and focus on staying true to oneself and celebrating life’s flaws. Beds can be messy and crumpled rather than primped, plumped and tucked, and homes are ‘homely’. We are seeing more and more plants and natural furniture/materials creeping into indoor space to give a fresh and airy feel, and boundaries between the indoors and outdoors are being blurred. Some councils show protected trees and conservation areas online, where others require you to contact them. As part of our service, we will investigate if your trees are protected and complete any necessary applications on your behalf. Would you apply to the council on behalf of the client? If we are employed to carry out the work, as part of our service, we do offer to submit the application on behalf of our client at no extra fee. Often having a professional, such as us, write the application will increase the chances of the works being accepted. When is the best time to prune a fruit tree? It varies depending on the type of fruit tree it is. Apple and pear trees for example are best pruned when they are dormant, anywhere between November and February, whilst plum trees are best pruned between spring and summer.
What should be done if a tree is suspected of being diseased or dying? Seek a professional such a ourselves to inspect the tree and provide a solution. We will be able to advise on the disease and how best to resolve the situation so as to avoid further damage to other trees and plants. How should someone go about having a tree removed? If it is felt that tree removal is necessary then as mentioned previously the first step is finding out if the tree is protected, which we can help with. Following that, we will survey the tree and provide a free quote with our proposed resolution.

If a tree is uprooting a drive can anything be done? Yes, root pruning can be carried out which in most cases will overcome this problem. In more extreme circumstances, tree removal can be an option.

EXTRA CHARGES & DISCOUNTS Should you charge for extras, include them or even discount for unused things? Holiday properties often have extras and all have features that some guests don’t use. Today I’m going to consider presentation of prices rather than the level they should be set at. Basically there are three ways to price things- you can make an additional charge, include it or offer a reduction if it’s not used. Common examples in our industry would be a charge for a dog, linen included or a discount for a couple in a larger property. Regular readers will know that I am a big fan of using data to prove things but this is an area where it is difficult to measure things precisely and my conclusions are as much about gut feel as pure calculation. One thing that isn’t helpful is to ask your customers! I know that what people say and what they do online are not the same thing but the main point is that you are asking a self selecting sample- people have said to me that their guests are happy to pay extra for the dog but the problem is that the people who weren’t didn’t come. What we do know is that multiple charges will definitely hurt your bookings- if there’s a deposit, linen charge, extra for a dog and then the option to buy logs you will definitely lose customers during the online booking process. At the moment we have no more than one additional charge on any of our properties and I would be reluctant to add any more. So let’s take a look at some potential charges and how I think they are best dealt with: EXTRA ACCOMMODATION I’ve dealt with places that have an annexe, extra building or extension that can be locked up if not used. In this case it’s definitely OK for there to be a separate charge- you can see what you are paying for and the price can be quite high so would affect bookings from smaller parties if it was just included. HOT TUBS Again everybody understands that there is a significant cost to using a hot tub- it has to be drained cleaned and sanitised and maintained during the week. There is a clear and separate benefit which you can choose not to use. We have found that around £100 is an acceptable extra charge. The exception her is when promoting high end prestige properties where everything has to be included HEATING & ELECTRICITY Whatever the economics my feeling is that the expectation of the market nowadays is that heating and electricity are included and making a charge is a bit like having a £1 meter in the properties. (If you’ve still got one of those then stop reading right now, pick up the phone and arrange to have it removed!). You can’t stay without using the electricity and the uncertainty of what the cost might be will definitely hurt your bookings. LINEN Linen comes into the same category as electricity- I appreciate that you can bring your own so it isn’t technically compulsory but you simply have to supply it nowadays.
TOWELS I’ve heard of some quite high end properties that still don’t supply towels and if they are well established with regular customers it doesn’t seem to affect their bookings. Of course we could argue that it just means they are too cheap but it’s hard to measure this. I certainly wouldn’t start from scratch and offer a new property with no towels
want to use and I’ll sort it out for you. The point here is that apart from a fractionally lower linen cost (assuming they don’t jump on all the beds) there is no saving for an owner but that doesn’t mean that we should ignore the marketing opportunity. Offering a discount can make your place stand out and we also use it as an excuse to list a sleeps four cottage in the ‘Just for two’ section on the site.
WIFI Don’t even go there! WiFi is like hot water only more important. Get an unlimited package at the fastest speed available and include it. This is probably the feature than can get you the most extra bookings for the least investment.
The problem is that you have to weigh up the cost of giving the discount to people who would have booked anyway against additional revenue from extra bookings. Here’s how a recent calculation went as an example.
DOGS Now we are getting into more nuanced territorythere are plenty of cottages that charge for dogs and many guests accept this so we need to try and make a judgement. First of all if you are going to make a charge the level obviously makes a difference. There is always a resistance to paying any charge so it’s certainly not worth making it nominal- if it’s not at least £15 a week then don’t bother. Equally if it’s too high you will definitely lose bookings- if you had to pin me down I would say £25 is the maximum. The more relevant question however is whether charging for the dog ever results in a lost booking and if it does is the revenue from the dog charges greater than the loss?
We were looking at ways to boost bookings on a property and considering a couples discount. Analysis of the previous year’s bookings showed £6,500 worth of bookings from couples so if we had had a 10% couples discount we would have give away £650 unnecessarily. So the question is would we have had an extra £650 of value after expenses if we offered a discount. This was a more balanced decision- I thought it would but in the end the owner decided not to do it. Just like the rise of all inclusive package holidays my suspicion is that we will move towards fewer extra charges and simple online booking will become increasingly important in maximising income.
Very difficult to measure this but I’m actually in a reasonable position to try as I have run a number of agencies, some charged for dogs and some didn’t. A quick look at a few that charge for dogs sees an average of 12 out of 30 weeks with dogs generating about £250 in revenue from charges, where there is no charge for dogs the average number of guests with dogs goes up to 18 out of 30 weeks so there is definitely an effect. Even an additional out of season weekend booking in a small place is likely to be worth £300+ so the calculation is that if you get one extra booking a year you are better off and so I am now firmly of the opinion that it’s better not to charge. COUPLES DISCOUNT This is an interesting one, I often field a phone call from somebody asking for a discount on a sleeps 4 apartment because there’s just the two of them. No problem I say- just tell us which half of the bath you

MARKET RENT V LOYAL TENANT! LANDLORDS –ARE YOU GETTING THE RIGHT RENTAL AMOUNT FOR YOUR PROPERTY? I was recently talking to someone at a networking meeting and he was asking me how much I thought a property he owned was worth on the rental market. It just so happened we had recently rented the identical property next door and after clarifying a couple of questions with him I told him confidently we would be able to achieve £1,500 pcm. He then proceeded to tell me he was already letting it out and getting £920 pcm. It turned out the tenant had been living in the property for 8 years and had fallen on hard times five years previously and as a gesture of goodwill, he had reduced the rent by £75 pcm to help the tenant out, however, despite small increases each year he was not yet back up to the original rent. His next statement to me was … ‘but he looks after the property and he pays his rent each month on time ….’ HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU SAID THIS YOURSELF? I get it, I have been there myself and said those very words, but at what point do you turn into a charity? Whatever reason you have for now renting out your property – be it was an investment property, or your situation changed, or you saw an opportunity to keep your property whilst buying another, you did it because it would bring in an income (small or large) for now, it would be your pension later and the property would also go up in value. Presently this landlord was receiving £11,040 per annum in rent. At the correct rental value of £1,500 pcm he should have been receiving £18,000, a difference of £6,960 per annum, if you add in the previous 3 years which should have achieved at least £1250 pcm.. HE WAS DOWN NEARLY £19,000! That is a lot of money in everybody’s book! The market has been on a steady rental growth here in Poole and Bournemouth and a definite upturn in the last 2 years. If you have a tenant who has been in your property for over five years, you need a revaluation. With the new tax changes, having an up to date rental valuation could be the difference in you deciding to keep your investment property or selling it. On a final note, the statement ‘ he looks after the property and pays his rent on time’ are part of the terms of the tenancy and should be a normal statement and not a rare find. We let to so many professional tenants who wouldn’t dream of renegading on their commitment, just as you wouldn’t renegade on paying your mortgage.

UNCONVENTIONAL STORAGE Storage is a precious commodity in most homes. Usually, there’s too much stuff to fill it with and not enough space to do so. Sure you could go on a huge de-cluttering spree, but the last time you did that you accidently threw away the kids’ prized stuffed animal ‘chi-chi’. So, we decided it was time to get a little creative with storage and think outside the conventional box in which you put your stuff in.

OVERHEAD LOCKERS The next time you walk around your home, look up. There’s a ton of unused space in the crevices above your door frames. A nifty trick for making the most of it is to create a shallow shelf just above. You might even decide to create a closeable cabinet above, for items you don’t necessarily want on show.
This is really the key throughout these ideas—to look for unused space with potential.

DOORS HANGING So often we forget that beyond a means of closing yourself off from another space, doors are otherwise a blank canvas for small storage solutions. And we’re not just talking about full-length doors— cupboards, cabinets and so on are equally as usable! The trick is to think about what you’ll be storing here, particularly if space is limited in your home. Little hooks and almost-flush racks are the perfect place to store towels, toiletries, utensils, pot lids, chopping boards the toys you keep stepping on; pretty much anything in fact, so get creative!

Create faux drawers in your side, coffee and console table and use them to store all kinds of things that you don’t necessarily want on display, without ruining the look.

MAKING THE MOST OF DRAWERS & CABINETS How many of us haphazardly throw things in drawers, and then can’t find the very same things weeks later? Yep, we’re all guilty. But this actually runs a little deeper than being mildly unorganised. By stacking things on top of one another you probably haven’t noticed all that extra space that you’re missing. For example, your glasses cupboard: have you ever noticed how the gap between the shelves is so wide, but your glasses are only 6 inches tall? Well, put in another shelf! And the same goes for your drawers. Creating a custom filing system (outside of your usual cutlery tray) allows you to decide which utensils require more space than others, and whilst we’re on the subject, who said it has to be horizontal? Why not make it diagonal and maximise the space in your drawers.

NEW ISUZU YUKON MODEL Isuzu has added an eyecatching new variant to its Yukon range, the Luxe Extended Cab pickup which features upgrades to both exterior and interior, including 18-inch Black Shadow alloy wheels. Other additions include tailgate assist which makes the tailgate feel 95 per cent lighter, and stylish red and black leather trim. Yukon Luxe Extended Cab is priced at £22,509 (Exc. VAT). Isuzu says the new model “offers the capability and practicality of the D-Max whilst looking and feeling more sophisticated.” The award-winning D-Max has already had a successful 2018, being crowned ‘Pickup of The Year’ at the 2018 WhatVan? Awards and ‘Most Reliable Pickup’ for 2018 by Professional Pickup & 4X4 magazine.
ROAD TEST: SKODA KAROQ EDITION Skoda’s Yeti compact SUV was a big seller and its replacement, the larger Koraq, is set for even greater success with enhanced space and versatility giving it wider appeal, writes NICK FLETCHER. The SUV sector is jammed with alluring models and while some of them have perhaps a more sporty feel than the Koraq, they do not have its overall blend of driving comfort and refinement and its day-to-day family practicality. Offering more striking and classy styling than the Yeti, with more of an off-roader look, most Karoq models will be twowheel-drive – a 4WD system is available only with the 2.0 litre diesel engine. With prices starting at £20,875, Koraq is keenly priced and offers a good range of engines, including a 1.6 diesel and 1.0-litre and 1.5 litres turbo petrol units. There are three trim levels, with the starter SE model well-kitted with alloys, DAB radio, Bluetooth, smart-phone connectivity and dual-zone climate control among its features.

In 2.0 litre 148 hp 4WD form, and with 7-speed auto gearbox, this version costs £32,005. Top speed is 121 mph, the 0-60 mph time 9.3 seconds and fuel economy 54.3 mpg combined. The emissions figiure is 138 g/km. On the road, the car immediately impresses with its accurate steering, excellent handling balance and better ride comfort than you get in most SUV models. Five occupants will have ample space, and the big 520-litre boot expands to 1,800 litres with rear seats folded. Plenty of cabin stowage places and aircraft-style tables for rear seat passengers help underline the family-friendly aspect of the new Karoq.

Hyundai has refreshed its popular i20 model with revised body styling, extra connectivity and more safety features. Available in June, prices have not yet been confirmed but are likely to start at around £12,000. For both the five-door and the three-door coupe, Hyundai is introducing the option of a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, and an Idle Stop and Go system, which reduces CO2 emissions. There is also a choice of 1.0 and 1.2 litre petrol engines, but no diesel version. Hyundai says that to make the new i20 “more appealing and give it more character”, the front of the five-door now features redesigned front bumpers including a cascading grille. The rear of the i20 five-door also has updated bumpers and rear combination lamps, creating a more dynamic look. The i20 also has advanced smartphone connectivity for integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As a result, passengers can use the navigation system of their smartphone without the need for built-in car navigation. Active safety and drivers assistance systems include Lane Departure Warning System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Driver Attention Alert and High Beam Assist. All i20 models come with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty.

ROAD TEST: MERCEDES A-CLASS The Mercedes-Benz A-Class has been a strong contender in the premium hatchback sector in recent years, and the all-new version is likely to further boost that success, offering sleeker styling and new benchmarks for quality and specification, writes NICK FLETCHER. New A-Class is initially available in three trims: SE, Sport and AMG Line and with a choice of three engines, all with a seven-speed automatic gearbox. Prices start from £25,800. The entry-level SE features twin seven-inch displays including a central touchscreen with voice activation, alloy wheels, air-conditioning, DAB radio, leather and fabric upholstery, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Speed Limit Assist and keyless entry and start. The A180d uses a 116 hp 1.5-litre diesel engine offering 68.9 mpg combined. The A200 is powered by a 163 hp 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 51.4 mpg combined. A 2.0-litre petrol engine is also available. The new model is almost unrecognisable from its predecessor, with a more aerodynamic profile and running on
a new platform which delivers a more comfortable ride and sharper handling. With light steering and stable cornering, the car has a more sporty feel and the auto gearbox is responsive and precise. On the motorway, new A-Class is impressively quiet and composed. My featured car, an A200 with 1.4 litre petrol engine has a quick 0-60 mph time of 8 seconds, top speed of 139 mph and returns 51.4 mpg combined, with emissions of 123 g/ km. In mid-range Sport trim it costs £27,280, with added kit including LED headlights, larger alloy wheels and automatic climate control New A-Class has a premium-look cabin and digital dials, and with a longer wheelbase and more rear headroom impresses as a well-equipped practical daily-use vehicle. The 340 litre boot is a good usable size and dropping the rear seats expands capacity to 1,157 litres. Competition is intense in the premium hatchback sector, but new A-Class has significant brand cachet and a luxury look and feel which rivals will find hard to match.
MUSTANG BEST SELLER Ford sold 125,809 Mustang models last year, making it the best-selling sports coupe in the world for the third year running. “The world is falling in love with Mustang,” says Erich Merkle, Ford sales analyst. “Mustang represents the best of American design, performance and freedom, with an unmistakable personality that’s appeals – regardless of your post code.” Of the nearly 126,000 vehicles registered worldwide, 81,866 were in the United States. European sales were 13,100 with Mustangs outselling the Porsche 911 in 13 European markets including the UK. Since global exports began in 2015 Ford has sold 418,000 Mustangs around the world. The most popular configuration is the Mustang GT with the 5.0-litre V8. Later this year Ford introduces a new Ford Mustang featuring a more athletic exterior, and an upscale interior with soft-touch materials and 12-inch digital instrument cluster. Enhanced powertrains include Ford’s 5.0-litre V8 and 10-speed automatic transmission for 0-60 mph acceleration in 4.3 seconds.
In addition, a special edition Ford Mustang Bullitt celebrating the famous Steve McQueen film’s 50th anniversary begins production for Europe in June. Available in Shadow Black or classic Dark Highland Green, Mustang Bullitt is powered by an uprated 5.0-litre V8 engine.
New research highlights motoring laws many British motorists are unwittingly breaking, which could earn them points on their licence, incur a fine or see their car being confiscated. A survey by Allianz Global Assistance UK found 61% of motorists surveyed aren’t aware that the rules surrounding babies and children in cars changed last year. Now, a driver could be fined up to £500 if a child under 14 isn’t in the correct car seat or wearing a seat belt, including new-borns who must be transported by car in a baby carrier – not in a passenger’s arms. While most drivers know that exceeding speed limits is an offence, 64% of those surveyed didn’t know that driving too slowly is deemed as ‘careless driving’ and could also earn them up to up to nine points on their licence and a fine. And 41% admitted to expressing their frustration at other road users through swearing, but it could be a costly crime. If caught swearing verbally or using gestures, police could fine a driver up to 75% of their weekly income. An even costlier crime is beeping the horn unnecessarily. A car horn should only be used to alert traffic to your presence, such as on a bend. It shouldn’t be used in anger or as a friendly signal to friends, as this could result in a fine between £30 and £1,000 and is illegal between the hours of 11.30pm and 7.00am in a built up area. And 74% of drivers don’t know that paying at a toll road with their smart phone counts as using their mobile behind the wheel and is illegal because they are on a public highway; if caught they could earn a minimum £200 fine or receive up to six points on their licence.

225g/8oz butter, softened 225g/8oz caster sugar 4 large eggs 225g/8oz self-raising flour, sifted Zest and juice 1 lemon 100ml/4fl oz Elderflower Cordial 30ml/2tbsp granulated sugar
Preheat the oven to 180°C/fan 160°C/Gas Mark 4. Grease a 20cm round, deep, loose-based tin and line with baking parchment (or a cupcake tray— minus the parchment—for miniature versions).

Place the butter, sugar and lemon zest in a large bowl. Use an electric whisk to beat the butter and sugar together until they are pale and fluffy. Gradually add the eggs, whisking well between additions and adding 2 tbsp of the flour with the last egg.
For the icing, squeeze the lemon juice into a bowl, then sieve to remove the bits, and stir in the cordial. Use a fine skewer to prick the cake all over. Pour over the syrup, and sprinkle over the sugar. (alternatively decorate the top with a thin glaze made from icing sugar and lemon juice).
Sift over the remaining flour, and then gently fold in, along with 2 tbsp hot water. Spoon into the

THE NY SALT BEEF & BAGEL CO. The bagel arrived in The Big Apple with the Eastern European settlers in the late 19th century, in fact, it wasn’t until the 70s that it began creeping its way into popular stateside foodie society, but when the holey bun did finally drop it rolled its way out across the state and vendors were snapping it up like hot cakes. Similarly, salt beef (or corned beef— though not as we Brits know it) was born out of the influence of Irish incomers, but has since become a huge part of NY culture, so it’s no surprise that these two foods would come together in the one glorious union to make an appetising hybrid. Which brings us nicely to the story of our very own supplier, the newly opened NY Salt Beef & Bagel Company, right here in town. Fascinated by the New York bagel scene—having spent two years living out there—the
owner wants to bring an authentic foodie experience to the people of Bournemouth. Situated just off the bustling Bournemouth high street in the Burlington Arcade lays the small, but perfectly composed store, alight with vivacious red, yellow and black décor—very NY. The bright lights and luring aroma of freshly baked bread calls out to foodies drifting past on the hunt for a delicious lunch treat, whilst the incredibly fair prices speak to those equally on a budget. We arrived one sunny afternoon to find manager Monica filling up the counter with fresh ingredients ready for the lunch service ahead, so we took this calm before the storm opportunity to ask her what makes this salt beef so special? She explained, “It’s a long process to get the beef ready to sell. Many days are spent curing and

29TH SEPTEMBER TREK THE THREE PEAKS OF DORSET Join Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, and appreciate the stunning Dorset countryside at the very top of the county’s three highest peaks. On 29 September you can join the local charity and take on this unique opportunity during a 12-hour hike across the Dorset hills. Participants will trek 26 miles across the Wessex Ridgeway and to the peaks of Lewesdon Hill, Pilsdon Pen and Bulbarrow Hill. These are the three biggest peaks in Dorset and within one day you will be ascending a combined height of 1,350 meters – higher than Ben Nevis. To take part in the Dorset 3 Peaks event, an entry fee of £35 applies and a minimum fundraising target of £265. If you book your place before 1 April you can receive a £5 discount. Your fundraising could achieve the daily cost to run the advice service to provide guidance and support, specialist toys for children with disabilities to play with, a day’s vital medical supplies for the children at the charity’s specialist school and much more. A free festival for Pirates, Mermaids and anyone else who wants to join in. With stalls, living history, re-enactments and a childrens area, there will be a disco for the children on Friday evening with prizes for the best Pirate Prince and Princess. A Pirate Parade to Monkey Beach on Saturday and Sunday to watch the skirmishes between the Wimbourne Militia and Pirates, and a Pub Crawl on Friday night for Pirates to get as many stamps as possible by visiting 6 pubs and ending the night at the Red Lion. There will aslo be plenty going on in the town centre for all ages to enjoy and all donations will be going to local causes.

But it’s still a belief that is getting in the way of what you want. So unless you’re willing to totally give up on your goals and desires, it’s a limiting decision that you don’t want to keep.
