munity Association annual general meeting June 10. He said in the fall he expects to bring together community associations and groups for brainstorming sessions on how all communities can take part in the Canada 150 celebrations, especially as a way to showcase the history of the rural lifestyle of communities that make up more than 80 per cent of the city`s land mass. “We want everyone to celebrate an important year, not just the downtown,” Watson said. “We have to make sure everyone benefits from 2017 and Canada`s 150th birthday.” While Watson made clear that he appreciates the importance of rural communities in the city such as Greely to the fabric of the city as a whole, he told those at the meeting that he is not prepared to make empty promises when concerns about roads and traffic were raised from the floor during a question and answer session at the meeting.
