News - After the Strandherd-Armstrong bridge is completed, the city plans to build a road to get Greely and Metcalfe residents there. A curved extension of Earl
Armstrong to connect it to Bank Street via High Road, south of Findlay Creek, is planned for far into the future – between 2026 and 2031. South-end residents will also get access to improved transit service by 2023 thanks to extension of the O-Train line.
The O-Train will be extended south with stops in South Keys, Leitrim and Bowesville by 2023, Mayor Jim Watson revealed in the city’s new draft transportation master plan on Oct. 9. Aside from the flashy announcement of $3 billion in rail extensions to the east, south and west ends of Ottawa, the city released its $1-billion draft vision for upgrades and modifications to road, cycling
and pedestrian infrastructure. These projects would be built in three phases over a long period of time – up to 2031. ROADS
