How to lighten your skin in 12 days Is it possible?

Yes. A Purastem Skin System is a safe and effective way to lighten your skin and brighten your complexion whatever your skin type. Designed for use on the face and neck, the Flexi-White and Sensi-Light systems combine a cream and serum complex that are effective at reducing melanin and hiding blemishes and uneven skin tone without the harmful side effects that can be experienced from other skin lightening procedures.

How does it work?

Skin colour is influenced by melanin, a pigment produced by melanocyte cells that are affected by an enzyme known as tyrosinase. The greater the secretion of tyrosinase, the higher the level of melanin which results in a darker skin tone. Purastem products work using high potency, yet safe ingredients to gradually lighten skin by inhibiting the production of melanin and reducing the concentration of pigmentation in the skin, creating a lighter more even skin tone.

Which system is best for my skin?

Use the Sensi-Light System if you have: Hyperpigmentation Usually a result of overexposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun, a hormonal imbalance, inflammation or a skin injury that causes an excessive amount of melanin in the skin. Hyperpigmentation can appear as a suntan or as brown age spots and is more prevalent in people with darker skin tones.

Melasma A skin discolouration, Melasma is thought to be caused by increased levels of estrogen, progesterone and a melanocyte stimulating hormone. Melanin may take different forms depending on its location in the epidermis or the dermis with the most commonly affected area being the cheeks, forehead, upper lip, and chin. Patches of discolouration may gradually develop over time. It does not cause any problems beyond what is a cosmetic discolouration.

Acne Another term for a blemish or a pimple that occurs in the skin. Usually more prevalent in oily skin, in severe cases it can cause cysts and infected abscesses. Individuals experiencing severe acne should always seek the help of a professional dermatologist.

Sensitive Skin Sensitive skin is typically dry, but can be oily, normal or combination as well. It is susceptible to irritation from cosmetic ingredients, skin care products and environmental influences such as a change in temperature. People with sensitive skin should try to avoid products with unnecessary fragrances or dyes, and generally avoid using products that cause irritation.

Use the Flexi-White System if you have: Combination Skin Anyone who does not fall into a single skin type category (oily, normal, sensitive, dry or sun-damaged) is classed as having combination skin. It is the most common of all skin types and as the name suggests, it is a combination of two or more of the characteristics associated with single skin types on different areas on the face.

Dry Skin Skin that contains little moisture. People with dry skin tend to have fine pores with skin that feels parched and tight, especially under certain environmental conditions. Use of a good moisturiser can help protect the skin and leave it more supple.

Oily Skin Usually caused by the production of sebum in the dermis, oily skin can be the result of natural hormonal changes with oil on the surface of the skin causing dirt and dust to adhere to it. If any product that claims to lighten your skin excessively in a short time is likely to contain harmful chemicals that are not permitted for use on human skin. It is recommended that sunscreen be used when exposed to sunlight during the use of a system to prevent UV skin damage.

How to use the 12 DAY skin system: STEP 1. Cleanse skin to remove all dirt, debris and make-up (Fig.1). This is essential if you want to maximise the results of the lightening system. A cleansed face allows the serum to penetrate deeper into the epidermis.

STEP 2. Apply serum to face and neck area using clean finger tips (Fig.2). Spread evenly for a smooth and natural looking finish.

STEP 3. Gently massage the serum into the skin with a circular motion until all the cream has been fully absorbed (Fig.3). Allow for the serum to dry for up to 2 minutes.

STEP 4. Apply daily cream by repeating STEP 2 and STEP 3.

STEP 5. Repeat Morning and Night for 12 DAYS.
