Landscape Architecture Portfolio
Personal Statement In this portfolio I have enclosed many pieces of work which I have completed during my four years of undergraduate studies at Cal Poly Pomona. Ever since I was thirteen I’ve had the experience of working in Garden Maintenance. I have always enjoyed working outside whether it was planting corn in mexico or today planting vegetation with use of designs. The landscapes I like to design are those that will help with bringing wildlife, have aesthetics and for it to serve the public to their needs while occupying the space. Although I do enjoy what Landscape Architecture is which is designing I much rather be outdoors and breath in the fresh air this world offers.

Water
This project based in La Verne was about incorporating technology into landscape design. I focused on noise pollution around the site. With using an arduino unit and its program. I decided to measure the pollution by having the arduino absorb the noise with a microphone and showcasing it by using lights.

Texcoco: city of Mexico Masterplan This project was done in conjunction with my partners Osvaldo Curiel and Ivan Pineda where we designated a design to re-purpose an old airport in Mexico City. The main focus was to direct runoff into the treatment pools which ultimately would reach the last pool as clean water.

The Barren Lake: Owens Lake California Masterplan This project based in Owens Valley where DWP drained all the water from Owens Lake and left a dry salty lake. The main focus was to artistically control the levels of salt in the soil by means of digging with heavy machinery to reduce the destructive dust storms. With help of the program grasshopper we created patterns that would be used to guide the machines in creating the artistic design on the ground that would not only be pleasing at eye level but at birds eye view. In addition it would also help with the dust mitigation. I worked on this project with a teammate named Osvaldo Curiel.

Interweaving: West Philadelphia
This team project which included Marco Garcia and Ivan Pineda was about finding all the green areas and open spaces in between Mantua and Belmont that residents had access to. Our designs purpose was to connect all these green and open spaces by interweaving landscape and people using streetscapes.

Rejuveneciendo: Culver City Urban Area Rejuveneciendo was a team project that consisted of two architects and two landscape architects. This large site was located in an urban area in Culver City and the focus was to create a livable area for a vast amount of people which would not only be residential, but also commercial interconnected. As Landscape Architects our focus was to take into consideration the runoff that would be created and use the creek that is existing as a relief. We created public vs private spaces by use of vegetation and hardscape. In addition, we wanted to connect two parks that were adjacent to the site on the east and west side.
