Naples

Nestled on the picturesque Bay of Naples in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, this city possesses a passion to match its fiery as its neighbour. You may be surprised by the fast pace of Neapolitan life, narrow streets lined with eateries encourage people in with the delicious smells of their famous pizza, and scooters whizz through, honking their horns. However it’s not all high-octane, Naples is abundant in important historic architecture, including the Cattedrale di San Gennaro and the Castel Nuovo. And, Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii are just on the doorstep, perfect for a day out beyond the city.

A city encased in medieval walls watching over the calm azure waters of the Adriatic, it’s hard to imagine that any traveller could fail to be impressed by Dubrovnik. Discover the wonderfully preserved UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town, with a wealth of palaces, churches, monasteries and monuments. There is no better way to see the city than to walk its walls, taking around two hours, it provides breathtaking views along the way - so don’t forget your camera. Food is also a proud part of Dubrovnik’s tradition, owing much of its culinary heritage to the sea, you can expect some of the freshest seafood and most elegant wine bars along the Adriatic.

Aqaba

Aqaba has much to offer the intrepid explorer. Jordan’s only coastal city is packed with incredible sights to see and things to do. Not far from the waterfront, Aqaba Old Town is an homage to the past. The vibrant souk tempts shoppers in with its heady mix of spicy scents, presenting stalls selling traditional keffiyehs, handmade ceramics and jewellery. Make time to visit Mamluk Castle, Aqaba Archaeological Museum, and explore the Sherif al-Hussein bin Ali Mosque, an architectural vision and place of worship.

Inimitable in its beauty, Santorini’s rugged landscapes have become iconic to travellers far and wide. In Fira, the island’s capital, the whitewashed Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral is impressive inside and out. Visit the excavation site of Akrotiri, the famous Red Beach and be sure to taste the volcanic wines cultivated locally. On the northwestern tip, the coastal village of Oia overlooks a caldera filled with stunning azure water. Head to the castle and enjoy the sunset views from its watchtower. Walk along the promenade in the fishing village of Ammoudi Bay, tasting the day’s fresh catch at a local tavern, all while soaking in the picturesque backdrop of the Caldera cliffs.
