‘Midnight green’ footbridge plans
Work to start on community hall BUILDING work is expected to start this month on the new Lyde Green community hall. Planning permission was granted last September for the community centre and outdoor changing facility for sports on ground next to Lyde Green primary school. Completion is scheduled for late July, and it is hoped the hall
will be ready for residents to use by late summer or early autumn. Lyde Green Community Association (LGCA) has applied to South Gloucestershire council to run the hall once it is completed, and will find out by the end of January whether it has been successful. Resident Bob O’Brien is leading the community
association sub group responsible for the community hall, and said that regardless of who runs the hall, LGCA would work closely with them to ensure the hall meets the needs of residents. He said: “We’re speaking to people who live here, as well as clubs and groups that may Turn to Page 4
