BACKGROUND

THE BRIEF

SOLUTION

The Body Shop is unique in how it sells only natural products that have not been tested on animals. The Body Shop is more commonly known for its body, bath and skincare range of products. Thier makeup range is of good quality and is higher in price than some of the more popular make up brands such as; Rimmel. Because it is not sold in chain stores such as Boots, this range of make up is not as popular.

Design and promote a range of packaging that will make the Body Shop cosmetics more appealing and well known.

Crreated a new limitded edition brand for the Body Shop makeup. The brand should reflect style, modernity and popularity. I designed a line of packaging for a range of products and promoted them.

The target audience is 16-30 year old female women.


PACKAGING RANGE

COLOUR

I designed three sets of packaging; mascara, lipstick and foundation. Within each set there were ranges of colours and styles for example; colour and style.

I propose that these packaging designs would be printed on a white stock with high gsm (250) . The packaging would have a matt finish. This will give the packaging a high end quality feel.

I wanted to keep the colours bright like the rest of the Body Shop products, and still keep the packaging looking stylish without being too bold. Gradients were the best way to bring simplicity and style together.

The Beau make up will be advertised on the Body Shop homepage. It will also be the first page that shows up when people click on the ‘make up’ tab, ensuring people see it.

The make up range itself will have a metalic theme, inkeeping with the style and modernity the brand represents. The Logo will be printed on products. I have designed packaging for foundation, mascara and lipstick. I propose to create a whole range of make up including eyeshadows, eye liners and bronzers.

I have proposed two sets of bags. The top design is for the Beau makeup bag; 1 colour logo and one black logo printed case. The second bag is what customers will be given upon purchasing Beau products, there is a range of 3 bags.

PROMOTION POSTERS

I have used 3 main images to be the face of the brand. For each of these images I designed two posters, one to promote the brand and the other to advertise the make up range.

The t-shirts are to be worn by the Body Shop staff and the promotional workers when they are giving out flyers on the streets of cities and towns. I chose to keep them black it represents the sophisticated style of the brand.

I propose to have the range of posters advertising the make up, blown up and advertised around in the bus stops in cities and towns in the UK. The flyers will be given out by promoters nearby Body Shop stores, adverting free make up testers in store.


CONTEXT PROPOSAL

SHOP WINDOWS

In each of the Body Shop stores there will be a new stand promoting and selling the new line of Beau . In addition, this limited edition make up line will appear in larger chain stores such as Boots and Superdrug, for a 6 week period .

There will be two large scale posters blown up and placed in the windows of every Body Shop store.
