A Healthy Heart? Man looks at the outlawed appearance, but God looks at the Heart. 1 Sam 16:7b
Yesterday Crossfit Damascus in Windhoek had a Throw-down event for Crossfit fanatics in Namibia. At 3 P.M. everyone gathered at the gym at the Windhoek Showgrounds. Community Hope was selected to be the recipient of all funds raised. The Community Hope table displayed John’s pots and photos of our students. John gave a short devotional with his potter’s wheel. His theme was “Is your Heart Fit?” In 1Samuel 16:7 God says, “Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.” We work hard to stay fit nowadays, but the Bible says cardiovascular fitness is important but spiritual health even more so. First Timothy 8 says, “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” We had a good time at the Throw-down. Many people responded positively and gave about $1,000.00 to CHS. We are so grateful to Max and Patrick, the owners of Crossfit Damascus, for their generous sponsorship It means a lot to have local support for our work among Katutura’s children. This Fall John and I will be traveling throughout the USA fundraising. John will be ministering with his potter’s wheel and I will be sharing about God’s Love for His children. We have made good progress this year at CHS and the students have grown both physically and spiritually. Our Archery team has been winning top awards in its competitions! We begin our third and final term tomorrow, September 3rd, with a day of teacher preparation. The students arrive on Wednesday. We will be ready to serve them. Please pray for us as we continue to raise funds here and for our fall trip. With all my Heart,
