Letter from Charlie Dear Border/ Idealease Family, Our success never ceases to amaze me. We all have been working hard these last couple months, and I appreciate everyone’s continued efforts. The holidays and end of the year are quickly approaching I know things can get hectic around this time but we need to buckle down and finish strong. Keeping each other motivated and striving to meet and exceed our department goals are key. I anticipate great things happening. Remember to always ask how things can be bigger and bolder. Never be afraid to share your ideas for those ideas are the foundation of who we are today and in the future. Sincerely,

Charlie Cogdill General manager “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself” - Henry Ford

Recently Idealease has gone through some changes, and most importantly was the promotion of Sunny Brooks to Parts Manager. I recently took over as the Idealease Manager after working for Sunny for the last two years and first wanted to thank Sunny for doing such a great job and putting together such a great team of employees. It has made for a very easy transition. From all of us here at Idealease, Mr. Brooks, you will be missed and thank you again for all your work and guidance at Idealease. That being said, I am truly excited to be in a position to help grow this segment of our business. We have a great team in place and in the near future we will be adding people to key positions to help achieve that growth. Our goal is also to create a culture of success and teamwork through: -POSITIVE ATTITUDE! -FRIENDLINESS! -HIGH ENERGY! -RESULTS DRIVEN ATTITUDE! -GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE We are happy to be a part of MVT and Border and look forward to working with you all in the future, AND if you need any RENTAL, FULL SERVICE LEASING, OR CONTRACT MAINTENANCE quotes, let us know!! Sincerely,

I think we can all agree that being financially responsible is important, but is it the only thing we should be concerned

about? Myself, I don’t think so. I’m big on being keeping my financial house in order, but I think that’s second only to staying healthy. Without my health, no amount of money in the world will make me feel good. There are plenty of cheap ways to stay healthy. That said, I don’t think that the two are mutually exclusive. Some people complain that they can’t get enough exercise without going to the gym, or that vegetables and healthy eating is too expensive, so it’s hard to be healthy on a budget. Here are a few ways I manage to stay healthy on a budget. RUN, RUN, RUN You don’t need fancy shoes, you don’t need expensive workout gear, all you need is your own two feet, those old sneakers that have been lurking in the back of your closet, and a little bit of courage. Running is a great free activity that can be done pretty much everywhere. You don’t need to have a home gym, so stop with the excuses. Also, pro hint: Don’t let being embarrassed or thinking that you’re going to look like an idiot stop you. Your fellow runners are just happy to see you even trying, and you are already way ahead of everyone else who isn’t running. BROWN BAG IT Unless you are taking pizza pockets to work, odds are that the lunch you pack will be healthier than the fast food options available to you on your lunch break. I typically make extra portions of meals the night before, and bring them with me the next day. It’s healthy, and vastly cheaper than buying your lunch every day. CUT OUT THE JUNK I know this is an unpopular topic, but you can’t eat like crap if you don’t buy like crap. Cut out the ice cream, chips, cookies, pop and anything else that is processed. You probably don’t need it, in fact, you probably don’t even need to replace it with something healthy, because if you’re anything like me, you consume far too many calories in a day anyway. This will definitely lower your grocery bill and make you healthier. USE YOUR OWN TWO FEET AS TRANSPORTATION This one I can’t make much use of, because I live in the middle of nowhere and the nearest town is 8km away. BUT, if you live in the city, where walking places is actually an option, I highly recommend using your own two feet to get you places! It’ll make you more fit and save you money on buses, trains and gas. The majority of the population in North America is unhealthy. In fact, 2/3 of the American population is considered overweight! Yes it can be expensive to live a healthy lifestyle, but it doesn’t have to be. The trade off is that instead of costing a lot of money, being healthy costs a lot of effort. It can be done though, especially if you follow some of these simple, healthy and cheap ways to stay fit.

Thai Chicken Drumsticks 

1/2 bunch cilantro, stems and leaves separated and coarsely chopped

3 cloves garlic

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 lime, juiced

Salt and pepper

8 chicken drumsticks (2 lbs.)

1 1/2 cups jasmine rice

2 cucumbers– peeled, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced crosswise

Directions 1. In a food processor, puree the cilantro stems, garlic, oyster sauce, half of the lime juice and 1/2 tsp. each salt and pepper. Transfer to a bowl, add the chicken and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight.

2. Position a rack in the upper third of the oven and preheat to 400 degrees . Place the chicken on a parchmentlined baking sheet and bake, turning once, until cooked through, 45 to 50 minutes.

3. Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, combine the rice, 2 1/4 cups water and 1/2 tsp. salt over medium-low heat. Cover and cook until the rice is tender, about 20 minutes. Let sit, covered, for 10 minutes; fluff with a fork. In a large bowl, combine the cucumbers, cilantro leaves and remaining lime juice; season with salt and pepper. Serve with the chicken and rice.

I would like to start off by saying “Thank You” to the Idealease Team for 5 years of continue support and improvement of our Idealease operations. I have been blessed to work with such an amazing group of employees and professionals whom are dedicated to customer service and success within the rental and lease industry. The torch has now been passed to David Eidler. David Eidler has been a great co-worker and outstanding sales professional; with many years of experience in the rental and lease industry, I am confident that he will continue to meet and exceed Idealease’s and Border International’s annual growth goals. I wish the team at Idealease many more years of accomplishments and success, as I know they will continue to strive for greater. Thanks again to you all! My new role as Border International’s Parts Manager is an exciting time for me and I welcome the opportunity to work with another amazing team within the Border family. As many of you may know, an abundance of my dealership experience is with Dealership Parts Operations. I have been blessed to be in the transportation industry for 18 years, in which 6 of those years included Parts Back Counter, Front Counter, and Parts Manager positions. I look forward to sharing my past experience and learning new things from the Border Parts Team. Since I began in September 2015, I soon realized that we have a lot of talent within our Parts organization. I can safely say there is over 50 years of combined experience within our department. That is a lot of experience in one location, and I have been blessed again to lead such a great group people. I would like give a special thanks to Royal, Charlie, Jay, and Clay for giving me the opportunity to grow within the Border organization and get back to my Parts roots. Thank You Gentlemen! The Border International Parts Department is the best Parts Operation in El Paso and we will continue to show the El Paso market that we are the best.

My name is Eric Stuart. I am from San Antonio, Texas. I have lived most of my adult life on the east coast. I have lived in Florida, New York, and I came to New Mexico from North Carolina. I started working at Border Intl. about four years ago. I was hired on as a parts runner. Within a year I became the warehouse manager. After a lot of hard work and long days I was promoted to inventory control. I have been doing that position for about a year. I really enjoy that position it really has a hand in everything that goes on at Border. So moving on to last week I was asked about the Parts Manager position and was very excited that I had the backing and support of my peers to take that job. I feel truly grateful and thankful to be the parts manager of Border Int. That’s my story………

Travis’s Safety

Corner On August 28th a customer from Arkansas dropped off his truck at our dealership for mechanical issues and repairs. Around 3:20 p.m. that afternoon the customer was walking back into the building when Jazmin Jauregui heard him fall. Jorge Antuna informed me of the situation; I rushed over to help render aid. As soon as I got to the location, I started rendering first aid and rendered services to prevent shock. We called 911 and kept the customer alert and talking until the paramedics arrived and took over. Knowing that he was from out of state and would have no one to be there for him at the hospital, I went to check on him and stayed with him until 9:00 p.m. to keep him company. I received a thank you card from him and his family for all the help and comfort we provided him.

Letter from Editor Hello Everyone All I know is I have some huge shoes to fill and even though I wear a size 11 I am going to have to give it my all to fill them, which I intend to do. I have learned very quickly that a lot goes on here at Border and at times I feel like there needs to be 10 of me but my positive attitude and passion for interacting with people takes over and I get the job done. I am the new marketing coordinator for Border International and I look forward to getting to know everyone. Please feel free to share with me any happy or not so happy moments in your life that you would like for me to share with the rest of our Border Family. Where I come from I learned A LOT about TEAMWORK and how not any individual or any department is more important than the next . If we all utilize each others strengths and come together in times of weakness we can accomplish anything and thrive in this industry. We are the “Best of the Best” because of each and every one of you. So smile, be positive but most of all keep up the amazing TEAMWORK! Sincerely,

Felicia Kohli “ Teamwork is the ability to work as a group toward a common vision, even if the vision becomes extremely blurry.” -unknown
