Title Sequence Animation | Typography | Layout Design For a motion animation class, we were asked to create kinetic type videos to a song of our choosing. My video follows the excerpt of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s speech in the Beyonce song, “Flawless.” My goal was to stay true to the colors and style of the album to keep a fluidity between my video and the album.

City Type Layout Design | Print Design | Photography City Type is a typography book I made for my freshman typography class. To create my book I combined some of my photography from around Providence with graphics I created to give the book more of an urban vibe.

couchpotato Design For Good: couchpotato App Design | Animation | Web Design In Sophomore Portfolio our new project was to design something that would benefit it’s users. The concept I created is called couchpotato. Couchpotato is an app geared towards couch surfing which could be used to help victims of domestic violence.
2.5D Animation Animation | 2.5D | Character Design To experiment with dimension, our motion animation class was tasked to animate something to the theme of “Memory. My animation shows a fish swimming in his bowl and losing his memory every few seconds. To get the 2.5D effect, the layers are pulled apart to create depth.

indiEats Food Truck
Print Design | App Design | Digital Mock Up IndiEats is a concept I thought of in high school which I redesigned for my Print Design class. My goal was to create a food truck that had the flare of a tex-mex taco truck, but sold gourmet sandwiches. In addition to the truck itself, I also designed an app for the menu, a to-go box, and a punch-card for frequent customers.

Gender Equity Center Volunteer Work Layout Design | Print Design | Design for a Cause For my first two years attending Johnson & Wales University I volunteered my design services to the JWU Gender Equity Center. There I made various posters for events, programs, and informational promotions held by the center. The three biggest campaigns I covered were “Ask!,” “Consent Is...,” and “The Vagina Monologues .”

The basic glyph shapes do not look consistent across font weights and widths, especially in Extra Bold and Ultra Bold weights, and Extra Condensed width. Indeed, even the lighter weights are somewhat inconsistent. For example, in letters p and q, the top strokes of counters do not touch the top of the stems in Light, Bold, Heavy fonts, but touch the top of the stems in Book, Medium fonts. Monotype executive Dan Rhatigan has commented that "Gill Sans grew organically it takes a very ‘asystematic’ approach to type. Very characteristic of when it was designed and of when it was used."
Gill Sans is a sans-serif typeface designed by Eric Gill. The original design appeared in 1926 when Douglas Cleverdon opened a bookshop in his home town of Bristol, where Gill painted the fascia over the window in sans-serif capitals that would later be known as Gill Sans. Gill further developed it into a complete font family after Stanley Morison of Monotype commissioned the development of Gill Sans to compete with the sans-serif Erbar, Futura and Kabel families. Gill Sans was released in 1928 by Monotype. Gill Sans takes inspiration from Edward Johnston’s Johnston typeface for London Underground, Gill's aim was to blend the influences of Johnston, classic serif typefaces and Roman inscriptions to create a design that looked both cleanly modern and traditional at the same time. Marketed as a design of 'classic simplicity and real beauty’, it was intended as a display typeface that could be used for posters and advertisements as well as a text face for documents. The clean design and the legibility of the font makes it ideal for anything from title text to captions on photographys. After it’s spike in use in the late 1900’s, Gill Sans was made a fairly commonly

nopqrstuvwxyz The American Typewriter font is a style of typeface created in 1974 by Joel Kaden and Tony Stan for International Typeface Corporation based on the form and monospaced feature of the early Sholes's patent of the typewriter. They adapted the friendliness and immediacy of this style into the proportionally spaced font. This face was never made as foundry type, but appeared first as cold type and has subsequently been made into digital type.
This typeface can be used for business coorspondance or any other place in which an old-fashioned style is required or appropriote. The 'A' faces are identical to the regular ones. The typewriter was patented in 1868 by Christopher Latham Sholes, who sold his rights to the Remington Arms Company in 1873. The first typewriters were initially thought to be replacements for printing and so typewriter keybars utilized printing types.
Myriad is the result of a collaboration between type designers Carol Twombly and Robert Slimbach. The design was introduced originally in the multiple master format, which enabled the design to be rendered dynamically from light to extra bold weights and from condensed to extended widths. When Adobe stopped making multiple master fonts, a new version of the family, which also included an extended character set, was developed in 2000 by Fred Brady and Christopher Slye.

The Myriad typeface family has become a popular choice for both text and display composition. Since it was made available in a Pro character set in the OpenType format, Myriad’s considerable reach was increased through the addition of Greek and Cyrillic glyphs, as well as old style figures. The Myriad family includes condensed, normal and extended widths in a full range of weights. Well-drawn letter proportions, clean, open shapes and extensive kerning pairs ensure that the design retains a comfortable level of readability across all of its varient styles.
Font Poster Series Layout Design | Print Design | Typography
For this project, I wanted to do a series of sibling posters that told the story of three seperate fonts. My goal was to create three individual posters that when put side-by-side, belonged together.

Wine Tasting Invitation Print Design | Typography | Web Design
Our print design class was asked to create unique invitations for an event of our choosing. I decided to create an invitation to a Newport Vineyards wine tasting. My design was printed on clear decal paper, trimmed down to size, and placed on wine bottles.
