1982 - 2022 our worldwide mission has been to develop people, design structures, and construct facilities which serve communities and the Church - facilities like: rural hospitals, university campuses, primary schools, water systems, ministry centres, children’s homes, community centres, churches, and more...
together, we are designing a world of hope
Assisting communities that lack access to basic sanitation and clean water is one way EMI has been ministering the Gospel in word and deed over the years.
VISION FOR WASH Our WASH (WAter, Sanitation, & Hygiene) vision is to work directly with these communities and partners to tackle some of the most technically challenging contexts in the world. Over the last year, we have been working with rural communities in the Norton Sound region of western Alaska. Finding solutions hasn’t been easy, and the complications of engineering in the Artic have introduced complexity in our designs. As we perform engineering assessments that open opportunities for public funding, we are working toward a brighter future for these Alaskan communities. God continues to open doors for growth both numerically and spiritually for EMI. Our vision is for EMI’s people to be salt and light in the world.
VISION FOR G R O W T H EMI is committed to spiritual growth through discipleship and development of our staff through leadership trainings, dedicated times for Bible study, days of prayer, and professional development. Our Mexico team received official permissions to begin work earlier this year and has already initiated a number of projects in the needy Oaxaca region. EMI’s Middle East launch team is gathering data, recruiting team members, and planning survey trips. Our aim is to create a second location in the region and our focus is on people groups with very little gospel presence. *For EMI, “Local” means individuals whose origin nationality matches the country where the EMI project and team are located.
EMI’s commitment to the core values of design, discipleship,

and diversity has moved us to consider substantial changes to our model. Over the last years, we’ve seen staff and interns join EMI from many nations from around the world. Our vision is to have a seat at the table for people from all nations who want to use their technical skills to reach the world for Christ. The EMI Fund is a critical part of this change, and generous giving opens the door for architects, engineers, and construction managers from around to world to join our teams.

VISION FOR GROWING GLOBALLY Since 1982, God has greatly expanded EMI. Your giving to Growing Globally has helped make that possible. We’re thrilled to be adding a second office in Latin America! Architect Jorge Aguero has responded to the Lord’s call to launch EMI in Mexico. We are raising funds to help establish this office. And, right at the 40-year mark, EMI has found a permanent home in Colorado Springs. We’re putting down roots in the city and building a strong foundation for EMI worldwide. Our vision is to have the freedom to mobilize more resources for our teams around the globe by being debt-free within two years.
